Yes. You are to keep it in a safe place just incase USCIS loses your medical documents by the time you apply for AOS. Then you will have at least a copy of that and you will only have to get the physical and blood work done by the civil surgeon in the US to complete the I693 instead of the costly XRay too. Do not give it to the BP officer at POE! It's for your records.

So I was thinking more about this. I reviewed the I693 instructions (link here) and it says if you were a K-1 "You are not required to have another medical examination as long as you file your Form I-485 within one year of an overseas medical examination; and (a) The panel physician did not find a class A medical condition during your overseas examination; or (b) The panel physician did find a class A medical condition, you received a waiver of inadmissibility, and you have complied with the terms and conditions of the waiver."

I take that as we only submit the Vaccination form ((DS 3025)) when filing the i485 for AoS, correct? They took my blood work and physical at the medical in Montreal.

Did you get the one that’s under the privacy act that is not certified, but you do the fingerprints etc?

So I got my criminal check done in Feb of this year. Cost  was ~$70 and i went to the commisonaires to get it done. It looks like this . I am not sure what the privacy act is . they accepted my criminal check without any questions.

Since you had your interview, what kind of criminal record check did they require? Did they ask for your fingerprints?

I had actually gotten the fingerprint one done in Feburary so I was covered . They did not ask for anything additional . It cost me ~$70 to get the fingerprint one from RCMP

Thank you for the answers. Do we also end up keeping the vaccination paper that we get at the medical? We will need that for AOS too, correct?

  5. Question : I signed up for the home delivery option of the passport when I registered for my interview. For those who chose this option, how long did it take to get your passport back after the interview?

Is this suppose to expedite the shipping of the passport or is it for only delivery to your home versus a courier station?

This is why they state to get your medical done as close to your interview as possible.

The visa is to enter the US within a 6 month time frame. Then you gain an additional 90 days to stay in the US. @Naes can you confirm this?

  7. 1 minute ago, sprinklegirl27 said:

Yes, I'm glad they mentioned it to me because although I got my Visa a month ago I'm not going to be entering the US for another two weeks from now so we'll only have about two months before everything expires instead of three.

What is the date of expiry listed on the Visa?

After I was approved at my interview I was told that even though it was techically 90 days after I enter the US we would actually have to get married by November something because that was when my medical exam expired.

Thank you. Thats so interesting . Like imagine if you get your visa but cannot enter immediately due to a personal reason and then your medical exam expires.

  9. Question: I know there a timeline associated with the medical date. Is it that you can enter within 6 months of your  medical date or is it that your visa expires 90 days after the medical date? If anyone can answer this question, it would be greatly appreciated.

It was by far the easiest part of this whole process.  Everyone was very nice.  Waited for our number to be called,  passed in our paperwork as she asked for it, and took a seat to wait again.  Got called to a second window, and the lady asked how we met, when we first met in person, how long my longest visit was and what he does for work.  I didn't have to give any additional information. And they didn't even ask for our ds160s or 129f. Although I assume they already had those.

Was paperwork teh same as on the Checklist? was there anything additional listed that wasnt on the list?

  11. Question for Canadian K1s that imported their car from Canada to the US (specifically California): When did you bring the car over (upon POE of K1 or afterwards)? Would it be possible to bring the car over later if your POE for K1 entry is via airport and not via road? If yes, would I need to wait for my EAD or my Green Card to bring the car in?

I am confused because I am from middle of Canada and do not really want to drive 30+ hours to California just to import my car at the POE once I get my K1 approved.

Hey everyone! I'm not at the scheduling stage yet but we got our "ready" status this week. I've been trying to find out what happens next. From what I have read some people have gotten emails and others got nothing but just sent in their packet and received either an email that said please wait for us to contact or straight up got packet 4. I'm honestly just looking for some guidance of how its technically supposed to go and what to expect or what I should do because I do have everything ready for packet 3.

It's brutal how much you feel like a sitting duck all the time eh!!

Any help or experiences would be much appreciated!!

You and I are on the same page. just got "ready" today. I hear different things about packet 3. You can go ahead and start submitting it when it is ready. Worst case, they say sorry too early to submit.

It went well.  We've been together for a long time (since 2011) and lived together for a couple years so it was easy. Basic questions related to how you met, what fiance does for a living, travels together, etc. I could hear alot of 'we met online, we met online, we met online.....' I found it a bit surprising you can hear other people's interviews going on. Not so much privacy. Also, when people come out of their interview, it's pretty obvious who passed and who didn't so that's a bit ackward. Overall, great experience!

that's great feedback! Did they have your 129f in front of them while interviewing? Did they ask about wedding or marriage plans?
