    Hi everyone!

We we had our interview today and I wanted to share our experience.

We interviewed in the Boston Ma location. We arrived at 210 for our 230 appointment. After 5 mins of waiting, the IO called my husbands name and asked to speak with me first. My intitial impression was that he was rather intimidating (although he was laughing with my husband when he brought him in).

initially he asked me to swear in & procceded to ask me for ID and any documents that I wished to submit (health insurance, dental, vision, life, bank statement, travel intineraries, etc)

He then started to ask me questions, here is what I remember:

    How did you meet ?

When did you officially start dating?

When did he propose? ( I messed up the when which we all later joked about. Completed nerves!)

    How did he propose? Where?

    How did you get there?

    What are his parents names?

    Your husbands birthday?

What does he do for work?

What college did you go to? For how long?

Do either of you have any children? Have you been married before?

Did you eat dinner together last night? What did you both have ?

Do you live together? Where? What’s the address?

    Do you share a room?

    How many windows?

    What type of flooring?

    Who lives there?

    How much is rent?

Do you have a gas or electric stove?

    Dishwasher?

Coffe maker? (I Forgot we have one since I don’t drink it)

Then he told us he saw no reason not to approve us and that he would recommend it however he was “waiting on background checks”. He went over the ROC process and how we should be sure to apply at 1 year 9 months and that the greencard would have instructions when it came. At the end we did ask him if my husbands passport could be stamped for travel and he actually called his colleague in to ask if she could do that for us. She said she would be able to but only for 30 days. We explained we would not be returning until end of Feb and she suggested we make a Infopass appointment closer to the date to get his passport stamped.

Overall it was a good experience however, our case status has not updated yet :( we have an infopass scheduled for next Thursday tho!

Talk about TMI lol he asked a ton!

Interview took about 5 mins from swearing to walking out. I was asked the yes or no questions from my i485 and asked to sign a form. After he asked my spouse how we met. Then he said we will get a notice between 30 and 45 days and we were escorted out of the office. He didnt exactly say we were approved.

Question: did you guys only have a court house marriage or something bigger?

Thanks, no personal question just literally ready about 20 yes or no questions off the 485 and that was it. We didn;t even open our documents up.

    Whole process:

    Security

    Interview check in

Go upstairs wait for our number

Number gets called we go to an office

    Hand over both our passports.

We both swear to tell the truth

She gets her picture and 2 finger prints taken at the desk

She gets asked about 20 questions that the officer was reading off our I-485

Officer says it looks good just need to wait for his computer a minute

Officer says its all approved and we will get our GC within a month.

Asked if we had any questions(which we didn't) and walked us out.

Did you see the notice on your I797c? "This notice does not grant any immigration status or benefit" ? So "they didn't buy it" is the right thing to do even if it upsets you. They don't need to buy it since it says it doesn't grant you anything.....

Maybe California is different but I couldn't get a USA DL until I got my EAD card...

Once you got your EAD card, what was the expiry timeframe of the DL? Did you go back when you got your GC to get the full DL?

  6. Hi All. I came to California on a K1 visa in Sept 2018. My I94 Expired in Dec 2018. I did file for AOS and have my receipt I797 letter. I took the behind the wheel test at the California DMV today and passed. They said since I do not have a legal presence in the US, I can only get a temporary driver's license which expires April 2019. I showed them the I797c letter as proof that my AOS is pending and they didn't buy it. Have others been issued a temporary driver's license while pending AOS from K1? Will I be able to renew my driver's license when it is about the expire? Please let me know. Thank you in advance.

We had our interview Friday in Louisville KY. The IO was pleasant and the interview was quick.

I believe she watched how we acted in the waiting room. My wife teased me about being nervous. I joked with her daughters. We acted like a family.

Our evidence was medical bills bills addressed to the youngest daughter at my address.

I honestly believe the IO had already made her decision before the interview and just needed the data to back up her decision.

were you asked any personal questions??
