Nope - 218 days for us and still nothing. I raised a service request today.

    Omg :'(

I hope you'll have your schedule soon! and the rest of us here.

Can I actually raise a service request too? 5 months today. What did they tell you by the way about your case? "Still under normal processing time"?? :jest:

    Thanks for your response!

    Congrats on the approval!

How did you find out your i-485 interview was cancelled?  Did you already have a date?

What exactly is going to arrive in the mail?  the work visa?

Thanks in advance for the info!

    Forena

I have no any idea it was scheduled, only the tier 2 IO mentioned it during my EAD follow up call. I haven't received any interview schedule mail so its just odd. In any case, just happy with the ead approval. GC can come later :)

And yes the next mail we gonna receive is the ead/ap card.

Congrats to your approved ead btw! :)

Bullshit lol, they dont cancel because EAD is pending, they cancel because double booked or IO got sick or whatever. You will be rescheduled. But trust me thousands have went to the interview with EAD pending.

I find it strange too. Cos green card could come first but I didn't bother to argue cos Tier 2 officers are being inconsistent with their spiel. Hoping to get scheduled soon.

We got our NOA1 sept 12th. Or case was ready for interview last Wednesday. Just playing the waiting game now. Planning on  going to Nigeria for Christmas so praying we get our AP in time.

We have the same NOA date! :D

It will be a great Christmas present for us! Hopefully you can visit your family soon!

  5. I'm on the same boat!

Last tuesday USCIS updated my case status (Mail was returned to USCIS because it couldn't be delivered). I have received my ead and ap NOA's Oct 6 (That was after I have talked to tier 2 officer to resend it to me Sept 28th) - USPS carrier issue that has been resolved. But I didn't received my noa for my AOS. The next day Wednesday I called USCIS again and told me my case is ready for interview but it didn't reflect on my case status. He said they will try to resend the the NOA again. If I didnt receive it in 2 weeks time he said to call back again. I called them several times now just cos of my mailing issues too. I talked to our carrier guy personally and he apologized for not dropping my mails since I'm new in town and he didn't see my name on our mailbox :(

Oh about the informed delivery, I called usps cos it says my zipcode is not eligible for informed delivery. They said it's not available yet to our zipcode. Makes it even harder for me to track my mails.

I just want to share the opinion of the counselor in the CFO seminar I attended before leaving. The counselor said there was no need to report the marriage as the Philippines does not recognize same-sex marriage. With regards to the name change for the passport, she believes the consular will not honor the marriage certificate to change name so the counselor suggest that it is better to pursue the US citizenship and get the US passport under the new married name. I hope this helps.

Salamat for the info. I was actually looking for this just now. :)

Since this post was in 2015, did they change anything yet?

    Thanks!

    Received date - September 25th

    Notice date - September 29th

However I only received my Noa last week - we have recently moved home and the mail direction is delaying our mail.

Also, that is the exact same number I called, when I enter my receipt number I am told (by the automated voice) that my receipt number is not found.

So it is impossible to get through to anyone with my receipt number not being recognised.

You were probably scheduled this week or next week :/

Have you checked your case status online? It's impossible that it's not found when you could check your case in USCIS case status.

    Hello

How did you get to speak to a real person when you called USCIS??? I've been calling the customer service number but there is no option to speak with a real person.

I also believe I have missed my biometrics appointment, as I have still yet to receive anything since my noa from last month.

    Hi Ilovecake,

When you call this number  1-800-375-5283 the voice operator will give you options to talk to a customer representative (be patient listening to instructions until you entered your case number then you will have option to speak to a customer representative). But they don't know anything about your case so request them to transfer you to TIER 2 officer

When did you get your receipt notice? Usually biometrics is 3 weeks after they accepted it.

Hello.. same thing happened to me before. Not receiving mails from UCSIS and SSA. Social security advised me to visit a nearby USPS. I was told that it's an issue they've encountered a few times in the past with USPS. So we did and my husband registered both of our names, my married name, under our address and from then on I started receiving mails from these federal agencies. He couldn't believe it either. I don't think it happens to everyone though.

    Hi Dystopia!

I have resolved mine, although we have registered both our names in our current address we still had the same issues. To find out it was the mailman's fault. USCIS resent the NOA's and received it, hopefully we wont have any issues like this again :)

Glad to know you have resolved yours too :)

So why didn't you guys get married first?  Obviously living together was more important to you than being able to financially help your household.  You picked the path that suited what you felt were the most important things.

Really the immigration path doesn't stop until you get citizenship or are satisfied with a GC only.

    Same sex marriage :)

    it's impossible in ASIA.

I'm sorry but i find your comment offensive. You don't know my story.

You don't question people's decision here.

Im aware of the immigration process. One step at a time. Im just saying having a GC is better than having no status at all right?

    Hi Val,

No, I did not get any update on the USCIS website. I just found it in the mail the day after my birthday. So thoughtful of USCIS to send me a birthday present <_< Just kidding.

The USCIS website state hasn't changed since September 14th when they acknowledge receiving the documents. It did not change either when they sent my biometrics appointment. In my case, it doesn't seem to be very reliable.

    Gemma

    Hi Gemma,

Good birthday present still tho. :P I mean you received something in your mail less than a month from filing! I read something on July filer's i believe that she gof RFIE after 3 months and ead and ap was reset. I feel bad for her, we are considered blessed.

Mine didn't change too since Sept 12 acceptance notice. I asked someone from july, they said it will only change from "biometrics fee received" to "ready for interview"

I believe it isnt reliable. lol. Some people got their combo card and it still says "case received"

Belated happy birthday by the way!

I’m new to the AOS game so maybe I’m missing something when I see people upset about having to wait on USCIS for AOS. Maybe it’s the fact that my wife doesn’t plan on working or leaving the US that makes us not care how long USCIS takes?

I would like to know why people seem to be upset that AOStakes a long time? I cared how long the K1 process took because I was separated from my Love, but for AOS I don’t care at all how long AOS takes because we are together. Should I care? Is there something I am missing that would make me care? When I see people seemingly upset over the wait I get paranoid that I am missing something.

One thought I would like to share with you.

k1 isn't the end of the process right? People care so much including myself is because it is my future.. All I want is to have my legal status to be with my wife with NO CONDITIONS. Isn't that a good feeling? Being a normal couple - I would say in the means of doing what you want freely and legally. I would love to work asap to help my wife cos she's the only one working right now. Well if you have no money issues you probably don't find the whole process important you can just sit there and relax (im talking as an applicant not the petitioner)

But again it's case to case. I would like to say i rather have ead first then GC later. It has been almost a year since we filed 129f and I just hate waiting. Can't wait to be NORMAL again :jest:

  13. Just to update everyone.

I have resolved my mailing issues... it's our mailman's fault. The USPS supervisor emailed me and told me the carrier in our area knows about it now (I filed a complaint). He said he didn't see my name on our mailbox and sent it back to USCIS lol.

Last monday I have received the ead and ap NOA's - USCIS resent it. But missing my AOS noa. Anyway I could just request for it again if needed. :)

Good to know the progress of everyone. Keep updating!

    Unfortunately I got a RFE

    RFE sent 10/03/17

RFE received 10/07/17 It seems that they want a certified translation of the birth certificate. I did provide a translation and added the paragraph certifying that I'm fluent in English. However it seems the officer processing my case was not into accepting this. So I'm going to look for a certified translator and hope that's what they want. Quite sad.

I will keep you updated, I hope you guys have better luck.

Sorry to hear about your RFE

Did you get a case status update on the USCIS website about the RFE

Or was the RFE just sent in the mail?

My husband received 2 texts late last week for NOA1, but he only got 2, not 3.  I never received any email NOAs either, I probably should have used his email as well instead of my Canadian one from university.  When I use the USCIS website to look up the numbers given in the texts, it says the numbers dont exist.  Will wait until this week and hopefully will get the notices in the mail/ will call at that point if something is wrong.

That's strange, have they cashed out your check?

  16. Hi everyone!

Im actually very confused here, would gladly appreciate your response!

I filed my AOS (I485) together with ead and ap last 12th Sept 2017. Since then I have never received anything from USCIS (NOA's + biometrics letters). I have verified my address to them and it's correct. They said nothing was send back to them and it was sent 15th sept. Yesterday I missed my biometrics appointment because of this issue too but i managed to went there this morning and they accepted me as walk-in applicant (I called USCIS too late, when i called them at 10am yesterday, it was the same exact time i should have had my biometrics). Its so stressful to know that I cant even have a normal mailing address.

I asked USPS about it too and they said without tracking number they cant help me and also our mailbox has my name on it. I live in apartments altho i have talked to my neighbors about my situation, they said they didn't get my mail. i doubt it tho cos usually if it isnt yours you just throw it away. Im just going back and forth with this issue if wether its USCIS or USPS fault. Or my address is just shi**y that I can't receive anything. I did receive other mails too like from my bank, but not USCIS. I can't enroll to "informed delivery" with USPS because our zip is not yet eligible for it and i asked USPS about it too and they said they are still working on the zip that's why it isn't available yet.

My question is, is it okay to rather use PO BOX as my mailing address or USCIS doesn't allow it? I'm so worried because in the coming months I will be receiving cards and more mails and I can't even get hold of my own mails.

The biometrics letter printed in the USCIS ASC early this morning has my address by the way and it's all correct.

Would love to hear advises from you guys who had the same issue with mine.

Thanks for your time reading this.

I have heard some stories like that. Is the name of the beneficiary on the mailbox? I've read that they will not deliver USCIS mail if they don't see the name linked to the mailbox. On my end, when I called USPS how to do it they told me to just put my name there alongside my husband, nothing to do in the system as I don't need a change of address. Haven't had any issues and I got all my mails.

    Good Luck!

Sad thing tho, I have already done that since I moved here in May. That's why I'm just lost and confused right now.

@Valex that's strange that you never received any of the paper documents in the mail. When you spoke with USCIS did you verify that they have your correct address? I would make sure that everything is correct so that this doesn't happen again when they send out the AP/EAD combo card!

I'm glad the biometrics walk in worked out for you, that must have been stressful! :)

    Was very stressful :/

That's the next thing I need to settle. The biometrics letter has the right address by the way. I also talked to USCIS tier 2 officer over the phone confirming my address and it's correct. I need to contact USPS about this. I do receive other letters like from my bank but not the USCIS mails which is very strange. Until now I haven't figured it out. There will be more mails coming so I need to fix this soonest.

Do you guys have any idea what went wrong? I live in apartment, asked the neighbors if they got my mail they said they didnt get it. USCIS has the right address. So my only doubt is USPS. I have registered my name under this address too to USPS and only the USCIS mail wasn't received.
