I'm in much the same position - also filed for my adult unmarried stepson in Jan 2023 and the online status is the same as yours.

Most of the participants here are for spouses which has much shorter processing time compared to an adult child - for an adult child it takes a few years and there isn't much you can do about that.

I thought I would post our timeline as I found it super useful from others:

Submitted 12th Jan 2023 (Nebraska transferred to California)
    Approved 11th Dec 2023
NVC welcome letter 8th Jan 2024
    Docs submitted 11th Jan 2024
    Documentarily Qualified 17th Jan 2024

The welcome letter took a lot longer than NVC published with their processing dates, but our documents being reviewed was quicker.

Yes....except that the IL email comes from NVC.  This is the process after DQ:

    1. Case is DQ'd by NVC.
    2. Case then enters NVC queue for your consulate and waits at NVC.
    3. Consulate informs NVC of available interview date for upcoming month.
    4. NVC schedules interviews for cases at the front of the line.
    5. NVC schedules your  interview when your case reaches the front of the queue for that consulate.
    6. NVC notifies person of interview date via email.
    7. NVC then sends case to consulate.
After the interview is scheduled, it can take several days to several weeks for the consulate to receive the case.

    AHH got our approval today!

    PD: Jan 17, 2023 Approval: Dec 14, 2023
Almost 11 months exactly, which was our very original estimate when we submitted! No email, just logged in and saw the "actively reviewing" date was updated to today. The myProgress tab still says "taking longer than expected" but approval was in the Documents section. 😄

Just got our approval! Logged in, saw a new "Actively Reviewed", and the approval notice was under "Documents".
Hilariously the estimated time, which had been "taking longer than expected" since the summer, went back up to 4 months on the same day it was approved.

Didn't get any email about it, so definitely keep checking

Sent 1/6/23, Approval 12/7/23. Texas service center. No K3 or expedite.

Hang on friends, the next step is within reach!

    Hello all,

Our I-130 was approved on 9/29/23, after we originally filed online on 11/14/22.  The NOA1 notice was generated by Texas SC but the Approval notice (NOA2) was from Nebraska (I’ve updated my timeline accordingly).

As with a few of the more recent posts, I didn’t receive any email update but was “periodically” checking the online portal (aka, every day! Ha!), and spotted the approval notice under the “documents” tab.  Case status was also updated to “case is being actively reviewed by USCIS” on Sept 29, 2023, so I assume they’ve updated the “status” tab on the same day as posting the approval notice.

Seems like I-130 processing is generally speeding up / all the Service Centers seem to be on roughly the same timeline, although the NVC process seems to be taking a little longer at the moment.  At least step 1 is now complete.

Best of luck all - hopefully not too long to wait for the majority of the Nov 2022 filers!

    PD 11/05/2022. NOA1 11/05/2022 from Nebraska SC. NOA2 09/21/2023 from Texas SC.
    Hope the best to everyone!

We submitted our I-130 petition on December 2nd and got our approval on Wednesday! Hopeful that means good news will be on the way soon for other December filers.

    Full timeline (USC, Spouse):
PD: December 2nd, 2022 (Nebraska Service Center)
    AR1: December 8th, 2022
    AR2: October 18th, 2023
Approved: October 18th, 2023 (California Service Center)

In early June our processing time was set as "Taking longer than expected" and stayed that way until the morning of October 18th, when it suddenly jumped up to 4 months. Later in the evening on the 18th we found our approval notice in the documents tab. We never got any emails stating an action had been taken.

I filed on January 28th and last I checked my case is also in Potomac. In the past few months our estimated time went from 11 months, to 5 months, to 3 weeks for like a day or so, and now it’s been at 4 months for about a month or so. I’m trying to hope that the estimate is correct, but I know realistically it probably isn’t. But still. I’m living overseas with my husband who I’m sponsoring and I’m ready to go “home” aka America.

1004ron got a reaction from PandO in Senator intervention (split topic)
The NVC responded sharply to the Senator, and sent my case file off on 20 December and delivered to the Consulate on 28 December without scheduling an interview.

I've been calling the Consulate, but all the staff that deal with immigrant visas have been on holiday until today - I called today and was given their earliest appointment of 21 February 2017 on the phone, with the promise of an email confirming to follow shortly.
Once I have the email appointment, I'll get the medical exams done and then ask to be placed on a waiting list in the event of cancellations etc.

    Hello,
I am a CR1 filer for my husband and it took a little over 6 weeks for the NVC to review our documents. Hang in there! You can always call the customer service line and wait for a rep to inquire on the status, that's what I did in my fifth and sixth weeks to check in. We are currently in Namibia and about 7 hours ahead of Eastern Time (the time of the call center). So I made sure to call around 7:10am eastern time (2pm Namibian/Cape Town time) and I only had a 2-3 minute wait.

It means that the payment for the visa was processed and the AOS was waived (exempt). You should be hearing from them soon.
