I-765 & I-131 fees are still waived if filed with or after a fully-paid I-485.  The best source of info is the official USCIS website.  Check here (enter "Adjustment of Status" as Filing Category) -- https://www.uscis.gov/feecalculator

    Hi Chancy.

Yes I went there but there was no information about the waiver.  I saw for the 131 the waiver still exists but it does not say it for the I756 so I am glad that you let me know that they are both still waived.

I also am now confused about the biometrics as it used to be $85 but I thought it was dropped to $30.  I wish someone who recently submitted their docs were able to clarify for me.

Does the mother want to stay in the US while she waits for EAD and AP or does she want to return to Korea and wait out the process?

Your wife's process was fairly quick but these days EAD and AP are taking 6-8 months and sometimes longer.

Not sure how long it will take to get a GC from your field office.

Yes. She will wait in the US going through Adjustment of Status. Originally the plan was for her to go back in January and wait in Korea but due to COVID and kids being at home, she missed her opportunity to go back last month.  She is 40 days overstayed now.

We are currently going through Seoul and the first half of the process (Approval of I-130) takes anywhere between 3-12 months (sometimes longer) and it is not country specific.

You'll then have to upload documents to NVC and currently the process takes 3 months (also not country specific)

Waiting time from DQ to Interview doesn't appear to be backlogged.

Do you happen to know if Busan is any quicker?  Or should we stick with Seoul?

EAD and AP are still free

Good insurance for her to petition her brother as well as her Parents. You never know.

Thanks for answering.  EAD and AP, I read that they were not included anymore when you file the I-485

    https://www.sweetbeginningusa.com/2020/06/are-uscis-fees-going-up.html

As for her brother, I only worry about with siblings, sometimes they can take 10-15 years.

  4. Hi everyone.

Quick background - Wife was a Korean citizen who went through the process and has now been a USC since April last year.  Her adult brother and father are in Korea and her mother is  a Korean citizen here in the US on a visitor visa.

I have a few different questions.

    1. We are trying to fill out the I-130 and I-485 for her mother but since they now charge for the I-131 and I-765, I am wondering if it is worth it with the current processing timelines.  I know with my wife, she received her greencard before her I-131 and I-765 were approved.

    2. For her father, we would fill out I-130 and is there anything else?  Then he just waits for a date at the Korean consulate? Sorry I have never done this.  How do we find out how long this process takes?

    3. For her brother, I know that her petitioning would get last priority.  So would it make more sense for her to wait until her mother receives the greencard and then have her petition as that becomes a priority 2 instead of a 4?  Or should we just petition now and wait it out?

    4. Finally around fees.  Since things have changed since I did it for my wife and there really aren't any savings for submitting packets with applications together ( that I am aware of ), is it correct that it would be: $1,710 if I find that the I-131 and I-765 is not worth it? And $2850 if I submit all 4 like I did in the past correct?

    I-130 $550 online, $560 paper
    I-485 $1,130
    Biometric $30

    I-131 $590
    I-765 $550

You’re welcome. I am sure you did this already but just a reminder to put the IOE# (receipt of underlying petition) on Page 4, Part 2, Item 3 of your I-485. Also, please make sure that your I-797 Receipt Notice for I-130 is near the top of your packet AFTER Forms G-1450 (if paying by credit card) and G-1145. Use a cover letter and specifically mention that it is concurrent filing referencing the IOE# of underlying petition in that cover letter. This is to ensure that the contractor processing your paperwork when they first receive it do not make a mistake and would clearly understand that it is concurrent filing with I-130 filed online. I did this and after I received my online access for AOS, it says “concurrent filing for I-485/765/131” in my account. I guess for me my goal was to always KISS (Keep It Simple St…d) to avoid any mistakes or misunderstanding from USCIS.

Do you have a copy of your cover letter or sample of it with redacted personal info that you can share?

Please tag anyone else that has been updating the spreadsheet regularly.

I have RESTORED the spreadsheet as of Oct 14th.  The alterations started on the 17th and much of the data was deleted / changed.  I also put the NEW users for the past few months in order of "Filing Date"

So if anyone has update any info since the 14th, please check / update.

P.S. @mikedany I went back through the many revisions and I found your old comments and updated the latest spreadsheet with them.

  7. Guys I think I am the original owner of the spreadsheet.  Someone is seems made a copy a while back and changed my spreadsheet a lot with calculation etc and that is what you guys have been using since Feb.  Back when I first set this up, I had it locked down but then people complained so I unlocked it.  I am trying to restore my original with the new data.  I will also then lock it down and ask for regulars on here to volunteer to help admin in.

Thank you for doing this. I tried to do it myself, but apparently I did not do a good job 😓

I will go ahead and delete mine

No fret.  Just go to my link after having logged into your google account.

Then File Menu --> Make a Copy -->

Name it something like N400 - March 2020 and save it to your google drive.

Edit the header etc.  Then make the file shareable with edit access.  Take that new shared link and post it here.  Everyone is this thread contribute to adding the data into it.

  9. Hi all.  I made this document for the Feb filers.  It has some calculations and formatting in place to help track the process.

I think someone took it and edited it which is totally fine but it misses a bunch of the columns and formulas that I had put in.  Please feel free for someone in your group to make a copy of this file and for all you filers to enter in the information.

Please be careful when editing the data and someone who knows google sheets should help maintain cleaning up the data.

    Good luck.

  10. Hi everyone.

I have updated the spreadsheet again to use the Oath Date when Approved = "Yes" and there is an Oath Date entered. Otherwise, it will continue to use the Estimated Completion Date to figure out how many months it is taking.  This will give more accurate information and then we can compare Estimated Date vs Actual Date which I also added as a new column.

Please Do not forget to update your information.

It is still under "protected" status by Johnny5 and people are just adding the last few rows with no organization.  We cannot seem to re-organize it because of this "protected" status. I think it would look much better with organized dates.  Again, if Johnny5 knows how to organize it, please do it or just cancel this protection status so that we may re-organize the page.  Thanks again...

Sorry was busy on a project.  I will unlock it.  I had locked the last column because people were messing around with it and breaking the calculation.

Hello everyone, I received my 10 year Green Card last month and for the last 3 days I have been working on the online N400 application. It says the site will save all information for 30 days so I thought to have a bit of time to finish it all.

However, just 3 days after I started, somehow all my evidence was gone. I had uploaded stuff all day, had to reduce file size on many files as it just took forever to upload something over 1 MB. The smaller files worked well. I was working on the additional evidence and signed out. Signed back in half an hour later and all my files were GONE!! I called the technical support. They had no idea and couldn't put me through with someone who knows more. I am livid! So much work, gone... and I had signed out and back in several times over the past few days, and could always continue where I left off.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I am thinking about sending in a paper application but that's also a lot of additional work. 😱

Yes this happened to me when I first time I started the application.  Best thing you can do is go through the review process and make sure the list of documents are indeed all there.  I even logged out and logged back in through another browser the 2nd time just to make sure that the documents did attach properly the second time.

I was expecting something different because it was not 12-18 month when I made a decision to do the i-485 and even when I filed the i-751. And it can go over 18 month for some applicants.

ROC have been 12- 18 months for close to 2 years now and yes it can even go longer for some but 12 - 18 month is the AVERAGE like I said.

Again CR6 filers unlike CR1 have the choice not to go through ROC at all. Had I known that USCIS could not effectively manage the workload, I would have skipped the ROC altogether. I regret going through ROC. It was a stupid thing to do on my part.

Dude I have no idea what you are talking about.  Being a CR6, you only get a 2 year conditional greencard.  Your conditional permanent resident’s status is valid for only two years and cannot be renewed. You must file a petition to remove conditions on permanent resident status, or risk losing your lawful status.   And if it is a lawyer who told you that, I suggest getting a new one.

If you received your conditional permanent resident status through marriage to a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, or being admitted to the United States as a fiancé(e) of a U.S. citizen (and then marrying the U.S. citizen), your conditional permanent resident’s status is valid for only two years and cannot be renewed. You must file a petition to remove conditions on permanent resident status, or risk losing your lawful status.

  14. Hi Everyone, I have updated the Google Sheets File borrowing some stuff from the Jan filer's file and also adding in some other things such as drop downs and some conditional formatting.  Please be careful when you update the file.  I also left the old sheet in the file so that people can see that the data was not altered.

Depends on a case. Had I known that ROC would have taken so long, I would have waited on getting my green card. I had a H1B visa and could have applied later and gotten the permanent green card. At that time USCIS did not have this terrible backlog and even the IO said "I am sorry that your card is going to be conditional, but do not worry it is a very simple process to remove the condition". Wrong. I would recommend that CR6 filers file later and get their permanent card. My 485 adjustment took 9 month. ROC is already over a year and the n-400 will take longer than 1 year since NYC is terribly backlogged. We had a very straightforward case, yet every step has been very lengthy.

Most people's ROC has been 12 - 18 month on average.  I don't know why you were expecting something different.
