Yeah i figured I would wait until August has arrived and then call them. So next week. If not this week. I don't know how far out you can call and ask. Yeah i need to finish the ds160 and then I will call. 😉😊

When I called to make the appointment they asked me what day I wanted and then they gave me the time options for that day.  That was on July 14 and I was able to request August 7th no problem.  So I'm guessing you can just tell them what day at the end of August works best for you and they will let you know the times that are available.

And, you don't have to have the DS160 done to schedule the medical.  When you call they only ask for the LND number and don't even ask about the DS160.  We completed the DS160 after I had made the medical appointment.  I know the steps on the London Embassy website say to do the DS160 first, but I had no problems doing things a little out of order :)

guys there was a discussion in here somewhere about tips on what to prepare for when your beneficiaries arrive in the US. been trying to find it but  seems to be buried too deep now. can somebody remind me which page it was  if you remember off the top of your head without go through ALL the pages or at least, who posted about it? my fiance has been asking me for tips and issues we should be aware of in terms of making sure my adjustment to the US is too difficult / stressful. thanks! =)

There was this topic that had some good suggestions:

Thank you for your replies. Yeah i read the chart of vaccinations needed. I've heard some people got their hep injections but then i was confused as it says I don't need them (I'm 27). 😊

Yeah i wasn't  sure if I needed to have my interview booked when i attended the medical. But if I can just book it after then that's ok. I'm ok with waiting a few weeks anyway. As with my work I couldn't go down the following week. Id have to give it a few weeks. I'm hoping to book my medical for the end of August if possible and then wait a few weeks for my interview. Waiting on paperwork from my fiance to arrive to. Thanks for the replies. Sometimes the internet websites can be slightly confusing so I thought it is best to ask people who have already been through it themselves  ☺☺

Happy to help.  If you're wanting to book your medical for the end of August, you probably have a little time to call and make that appointment.  From what I've read from others, the medical appointments can sometimes be booked 2-3 weeks out so just keep that in mind.  Since you already have your NVC case number, you can ring Knightsbridge and tell them what day you would like the medical.

    Hey quick question.

You don't need the hep injections for the London medical, do you? I'm 99percent sure you don't but just want to make 100 percent sure.

Ps I've had my mmr, tdap, TB jab from school, and the other ones you get as a baby. It's not flu season yet so i haven't recieved that as I plan on having my medical before October :)

Also. Do you need to have had your interview at the embassy booked by the time you attend your medical?

Here is the vaccine chart for London:

    https://uk.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/16/2015/11/vaccine_chart.pdf

In terms of scheduling the interview, you don't have to have it scheduled at the time of the medical.  If you do wait until after the medical to schedule your interview, you might have to wait a bit for available interview dates depending on what's open.  As I'm sure you've read, you need to allow at least 5 working days between the medical and the interview to make sure your medical results arrive to the embassy in London before the interview.  Also, you do have the option of rescheduling your interview using the online tool at no additional cost as long as you are making the change a couple of days in advance.

We've definitely not had an easy ride that's for sure, hopefully we will hear something in the next couple weeks!

I'm really hoping I'm one of the lucky ones that gets an approval after a week (definitely being optimistic) :jest:

I hope that from here on out it will be quick for you.  Just so you know, there are still many appointment days left in August for Visa interviews in London, including as late as the 30th.  If things move quickly for you from here, you might still be able to snag one of those.  It also looks like they haven't opened the September dates yet so I'm still going to keep my fingers crossed for you that you don't have to move your flight  :D

Congrats! You're with London aren't you? What happens if you can't upload photo to ds160 form? Can you take photo with you to embassy in interview day? I've read somewhere that this is possible? I'm going to be starting the form next week. 😊

    Yep, we're going through London.

I think that's possible but I was also able to make one for my fiancé using Photoshop and a photo he sent me.  I was worried it wouldn't accept the upload, but it processed the photo and accepted it.  If you want me to try to help you, I can as well, just let me know.

  7. Another question for my UK peeps (sorry for so many lately!).  I am getting a little bit of a run around from Knightsbridge and was wondering if anyone who has attend the medical there already can help out/ease my mind.  I got the email instructions from them and I noticed the information about a Patient Summary being required.  Now I understand that normally this would be fairly easy to attain if you have a GP or have been to the doctor in the UK.  However, my fiancé has been living in the UK for less than 2 years and has never registered with a GP because he's never needed to visit a doctor during the last 2 years, except for now for the visa process.  I emailed Knightsbridge asking about this and letting them know he was going to go back to his home country, get a letter from one of his last doctor's there, and asking if this would be okay to fulfill the requirement.  The first response I got from them was very generic, and the person responding didn't seem to even read what I said.  They responded that my fiancé should contact his UK GP and ask for the Patient Summary and they provided two attachments to give to a UK GP about why it's necessary.  Okay, that would be all fine and great, except I already said that my fiancé doesn't have a GP in the UK!  I responded back again, pointing out the information that I included in the original email, and they just replied saying that this is a requirement for the visa and if he's not able to obtain this information, he should still attend the medical and discuss it with the doctor.  I understand that we're in a bit of a unique situation but surely this is not the first time that Knightsbridge has dealt with a non-UK citizen going through the visa process who doesn't have a GP and thus can't get a Patient Summary.  I feel like I'm going in circles with them right now trying to explain that he can't get a Patient Summary because one doesn't exist because he doesn't have a GP in the UK.  Any help/advice/magical ways to produce something that doesn't exist?  :D

  8. Hello again my fellow UK Filers.  I think I did something wrong.  We followed the link from the London Embassy's website to fill out the DS160.  We completed it, signed it, and then got to the confirmation page but I didn't see anywhere to pay the fee for the DS160.  Do we have to pay a fee for it and if so, any idea where I might have messed it up?

Cool! I'm stretching things out a bit until I wait for paperwork. Our case reached London on Monday 😊

Ah, cool, same day that ours arrived too :)  I'm trying to push him to get his interview done as soon as possible even though I won't be flying to London until around September 30th and the both of us coming back on October 6th.  I'm trying to be good and wait for the "Approved!" after the interview before buying our plane tickets.  I just get nervous about the ticket cost and buying them less than 6 weeks before travel.  I'm also trying to fit in a concert the week that I'll be back in London so that's why I'm a little firm on the dates of travel  :D

Thanks for the reply! I've tried to contact London before on queries and I just got the "use the contact form online for questions" 😒

Yeah, I've heard they push that online form a bit but that they are usually pretty responsive to questions there.  We are going to be wrapping up the DS160 today and then will fill out the Notification of Applicant Readiness Form.  Once that's done, we will be on the hunt for an interview day.  Right now my fiance's medical is scheduled for August 7th and not sure what day we'll be able to get for an interview.  Luckily he gets 2 days off during the week so the trick will be finding a date that will work in his schedule but also allow enough time for the medical records to reach the embassy.  Right now we're hoping that we'll find an appointment for August 17th once we can schedule but, if not, then we'll shoot for the 21st.

    Question for London embassy interview:

How many bits if evidence does the i134 need? I have heard London accept just one bit. (Pay stump, or bank statement, or letter from employer, etc)

Does the form need a wet signature or can my fiance email me it and then I print it out?

From all the reviews I've read of the London interview, one to two bits of evidence is sufficient.  I sent my fiance two recent pay stubs and a letter from my employer.  They may only want 1 of those but I wanted to make sure he had 2 just in case.

In terms of the wet signature, I'm not sure on that one.  Since my fiance doesn't have a printer, I just mailed him a copy of all of the documentation he needs to take to the interview which included the I-134 with a wet signature.  I really don't think they are going to look that closely at the document at London to see if it's an original or a photocopy but I could be wrong.

Mine went to Junk too and I didn't realise! i called them back 2 hours later and they sent me another email and told me to check junk, Which I hadn't so I felt stupid when it was in there haha! Keep calling!

I finally got through to someone today.  They had really messed up the spelling of the email address and even my fiance's name.  Finally got it all corrected and got the email.  Thanks everyone!

Okay so we got our RFE and it was a really simple easy fix. We just missed a question on the form 'have you committed any criminal offences'. They attached a piece of paper that we just needed to tick the 'no' box and sign and date it. We're going to post it tomorrow so they should get it by Thursday.

What's interesting is we also received a letter from our congressman who never responded to our email (or so we thought) his letter stated that we had an RFE and guess what, his letter was dated the same day our app was updated (we also never signed the privacy release form). I think he made a call and that's why our file was finally touched, we could've potentially been sat here even longer in limbo if it wasn't for him.

I'm crossing every part of my body now that we get approved quickly as it was a simple yes or no question which we of course answered no to! :D

Glad you got the RFE and it was a simple fix.  I'm hoping for a quick turn around for you and a flash through NVC so you can keep your current plane ticket!

You could very well be right about that. I didn't even think about it

I also think that interview dates are only posted online for about a month and a half out from the current date.  I think they want to try to avoid changes/letting people schedule outside of their available windows, so they only open dates a little over a month out.  I don't know if there was a particular reason you were wanting to wait for the interview until December but, as it has already been mentioned, you can probably get an extension by contacting the embassy.  If you fiancee wants, she could go ahead and have the interview and have that done and behind her as she has 6 months to enter the USA from the date of her medical exam.  So, even if she had the medical in July, she would have until January to enter and use the visa.

    Hello Everyone,

I have my interview on Wednesday (19th) at the London Embassy I'm so excited aaaaaahhhhh! Anybody had their interview in London yet? Will I find out on the day whether its been approved???

    Wishing luck to everyone!

    That's great news!!!

You will find out if you are approved that day but will have to wait to get your passport back.  If you're curious about the process and questions asked, you can read some reviews here:

    http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=United+Kingdom&cty=&dfilter=5

That has both K-1 and CR-1 applicants but it's a great resource I think to know what to expect the day of and to also help to calm any nerves you might have about the process or questions they will ask.
