Hi peeps,
I do not post a lot but was lurking this thread for months.
Well, I had my interview + ceremony combo today! Applied April 5, notice of bio reuse on October 16 and interview today. Phoenix, AZ.
Had an interview at 8am, waited for about 30 minutes. Interview was about 20 minutes. Then waited for about extra 30 minutes for the ceremony. Got out around 10:30-11.
Interview was straight forward - biographical verification (phone number, address, SSN,....), civics, read & write followed by no, no, no, no, no,... yes, yes, yes... questions My IO was very pleasant and professional. Was not even asked for any of the original documents.
Wishing you all good luck. It sure pays off! I can finally say I am a proud American! Can't wait to "cancel" my husband's vote in the next federal elections, hee hee

We already have your biometrics and we will use them. You do not need to appear at ASC for any biometrics. We are continuing to process your case.

Hi All,
Thought I’d share my experience today. I used live chat to ask about my case because it’s been almost six months and no biometrics appt. I’m an electronic filer and my closest field office is baltimore. I was told that offices had discretion to use biometrics on file, and in my case I wouldn’t be required to attend a biometrics appointment. I hope that’s really true. Definitely recommend using the live chat to get an update. Tried three times calling and couldn’t get past the automation.

USCIS call center representative will only proceed if your extension letter is expiring within 10 days otherwise they will ask you to call back. They are driving me crazy for a stamp and I really need to travel due to a family emergency and its truly a messed up system due to Covid19. Once you call USCIS, representative tells you to expect a call within 5 business days but in my case they didn't bother to call me back, called them 3 times and every time after hourly long hold, after verifying each and everything they give you same lollipop. When you tell them you were told to expect a call, they tell you,Officer wrote reason for not calling back because there is no appointment available. I was requesting them I can go to any other location if there is any appointment available but they refused that only closest to your postal code can serve you. Now another tier 2 officer will call me in 5 working days and then I have to prove through documents via email that's its an emergency and then within 5 days they would call me back, if TIER 2 approves then that officer would schedule an appointment and then I can get a stamp No walk-ins regardless you have an emergency and no appointment unless you have an emergency and good luck proving them. Feeling so depressed but don't see any other solution except going round and round. Cherry on to (Tier 2s are available only b/w 8 am to 1pm with an average hold time is 1 hour plus.
I was wondering if I travel on expired letter, Would I be able to get a stamp from US Embassy in my home country? By any chance on way back cant they verify my status at airport that I am lawful permanent resident. I need seniors help regarding this emergency travel, do I have any other option? Please help me with your knowledge.

Just an update-we got the formal letter and they ARE using my husband’s past biometrics And fingerprints to process and he is not going in for an appointment. The letter we got just notified that we are still in process and nothing has been determined yet and no interview scheduled yet. Good luck to all!

Got an update. Checked the old website and it says "Interview was scheduled". The new one only has a document about reusing my biometrics, so maybe it hasn't been updated with an interview date yet. Nothing in the mail today, but I'll circle back and update the group when I get a date for the interview.

exodus reacted to Ning in Translating Marriage Certificate
The format I copied below is from USCIS. It has been used many times with zero problem. You can see that the actual " certification " is no more than the statement the translator signs as you see.
Anyone competent in both languages can do the translation.
Certification by Translator
I [typed name], certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and ________ languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled ______________________________.
Signature_________________________________
Date Typed Name
Address
This is simply wrong in most countries & is certainly wrong here in the USA when it comes to USCIS. Again its their format I copied.

exodus reacted to Ksenia_O in Power of attorney document for Ukraine?
That's correct. Only POA, done by the Embassy, will be recognized in Ukraine.
We had it done, few months ago.
You should have a printed sample of your POA. Also, they really appreciate if you bring a USB flash drive device with the document saved there, so they wouldn't have to re-type it again to print it on the Embassy blank.
Your wife will need her son's INN number, passport info, address. Same for her I believe.
All info you can find here - about Embassy fees, list of documents and so on. Including what Embassy to go - it depends on the State you live in.
https://usa.mfa.gov.ua/en
Almost all POAs have to be registered in Ukraine. So, you should keep this in mind and make sure the Embassy gave you the Certificate for entering your POA into the Register, once the document is in Ukraine. It can be done by any Notary.
Good luck!

This is where your ASC is located. https://egov.uscis.gov/office-locator/#/asc Might not be same as field office.

exodus reacted to gregcrs2 in Biometric appointment - USCIS Milwaukee
ASC does biometrics, not field offices. Many times they are in the same building but may have different working hours.

exodus got a reaction from Meanis in sent I-130 without supporting documents
Thought I would post an update. They did send an RFE and asked for a recent photo, original and translated marriage certificate/divorce document and proof of my citizenship. I quite like the idea of only sending them what they request, instead of deluging them with what I think they might want.

exodus reacted to gregcrs2 in Kiev, notarized statement of no prior marriage
Sorry to hear it didn't work out. Who knows, maybe it saved you a lot of grief and money later. Hopefully, you won't give up your pursuit of a special woman from Ukraine. Perhaps you will take an early retirement and spend a good amount of time in Ukraine getting to know your future life partner.

Scan the I-864 and take the original to the interview. Also remember email limit is 5mb so you will need to compress the pdf files.

You might want to get a head start from now reading the NVC stage because that stage is alot more confusing than this stage!
Good Luck!

They wouldn't have "accepted" the case without the fee. I expect the OP sent the fee but just didn't mention it in their post.

Evrryone makes mistake, just wait for the rfe...the missing marriage certificate and proof of citizenship will be the main reason for the rfe. While you wait for that rfe just gather the rest of the missing docs ready to go when that time comes.
