shayden10 got a reaction from Ezero2k in I-751 July 2019 Filers
Hey everyone, I submitted an inquiry on 10/13/2020 stating my case was outside normal processing time (it is NOT, I filed July 1, 2020, Potomac Service Center) but I hoped it would bring attention to my case. It must have worked because I got notice my case was approved as of 11/04/2020 and received my 10 year LPR card in the mail today! My interview was waived so the only interview I ever attended was the initial K1 interview in my home country, I did biometrics October 2019. Hopefully everyone here’s something soon!

Are you able to attach a link for the travel.gc.ca list? I’ve looked for it and can’t find a list on their website...

No movement on my case since biometrics (which was in October, about 170 days ago). Also YSC Service center. I did see the processing time for YSC is now 12.5-19 months.

Not yet, I haven’t heard anything since Biometrics. I’m expecting it to be at least 8-12 months more based on reported processing times. It’s only been 4 months since my application was submitted

[Potomac Service Center] I also completed my Biometrics yesterday (October 25th) at my local office in Dover, Delaware and within a couple hours my tracking info updated to fingerprint review completed. The office was just under an hour and a half from my house, my husband went with me. I arrived a half hour early and was the only one there, the gentleman took me back immediately. He took my photo, took 2 fingerprints and sent me on my way. I was there less than 5 minutes. Now we sit and wait to be approved.

My case is currently at the Potomac Service Center and has been since 7/1/19. This past Saturday, I received a letter from USCIS informing me that my biometrics appointment has scheduled for 10/25/19. I thought I should share for those who are still waiting to hear anything from Potomac!

Yay!! So happy that you got it and that you’ll be back home in time and don’t have to change any of your travel plans!

Hahahahaha! I feel you completely. I will be back home on the 22nd. I will ask hubby to check. I could always fly back home to make sure I don’t miss it if need be.

I signed up for the USPS informed delivery service a while back and haven't actually checked my mail the past few days, especially because I honestly wasn't expecting to hear anything for a few more months so I haven't been getting my hopes up about getting a letter from them. I was laying in bed this morning and pulled up the app to see if I had incoming mail and it showed the letter was delivered on Saturday. I legitimately ran to my mailbox, I barely had time to put pants on lol - I hope you receive yours soon! My bio appt is in less than two weeks, if you did receive one I hope you'll make it back in time! But you can always reschedule too if you have to

Fellow Canadian here
You are correct that you have to apply within the 90 days, not a day sooner! The previous poster is correct, you're NOA1 that you receive typically within 30 days of filing will serve as an 18 month extension letter than is your proof of status which allows you to work and travel. My green card just expired while I was traveling home to Canada to see family and I had no issues with entering the States using my NOA1 and my green card, in addition to my Canadian passport (which still has my maiden name on it and I don't intend to change it until it expires next fall so I also provided our Marriage License to validate the name change). The wait time looks like it's around a 12-18 months but the actual wait time really depends what service center your paperwork is forwarded to.

Definitely keep me posted with what happens! I am not worrying about it too much at this point so I don't think I will call yet but if you get somewhere through calling let us know!

Hopefully we hear something soon although it will all come in time! This is the easy waiting part, because at least we are here with our loves and aren't struggling through the long distance too!

I have the same timeline - Docs received in Tx July 1st, received the extension letter shortly after. My file is also in Potomac with no word on Biometrics. I know it will come in time

Legally you are required to carry your green card on you and will also be required to carry the extension letter, you should also continue to carry the expired green card because it has your photo on the card and biometrics. Per the USCIS website: " If you are a permanent resident age 18 or older, you are required to have a valid Green Card in your possession at all times." Which extends to any document proving your LPR status.
This is governed by Sections 264(e) of the Immigration and Nationality Act which states: "Every alien, eighteen years of age and over, shall at all times carry with him and have in his personal possession any certificate of alien registration or alien registration receipt card issued to him pursuant to subsection (d). Any alien who fails to comply with the provisions of this subsection shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall upon conviction for each offense be fined not to exceed $100 or be imprisoned not more than thirty days, or both."
