  1. It is strongly advised to avoid making ANY non-refundable expenditures prior to receiving and visually checking visa. Too many things can happen.
  2. I'm not sure what they meant by that. When wife got her Texas DL in 2017, she was able to do a direct swap of her Taiwan DL for a full-term Texas DL, no tests, etc. (the Real ID type). She had a 2 year Green Card, but her Texas DL was issued for 7 years.
  3. and working outside the US adds credence to an assumption that the foreign spouse is actually living outside the US.
  4. What sort of combination/appearance of the 2 flags are you considering?
  5. Exactly. Since my wife and I both have income sources, we each have a personal checking account at Bank A, and we have a joint checking account at the same bank. Each month, we both transfer funds to the joint account which is used for payment of household expenses. It works well for us, and it provides a good source of financial evidence. But, as you said, determine how you want to manage your finances, then act.
  6. In our case, a joint checking account is what we use to pay every-day household expenses. It provides a good paper trail for our expenses, and it is good evidence of co-mingling finances (which you will need a few times during the immigration journey).
  7. I would say "Approximately $60,000 a year". Quoting to the exact dollar might appear to be "over coached".
  8. Once she files a proper I-485 package, she will be granted authorized stay in the US. Even with the receipt notice, I'm not sure your apartment will understand. You might get a personal affidavit from someone which testifies to the fact that she lives there.

  10. You can't apply for AOS first. Adjustment of Status must be filed either along with the I-130 or after the I-130....but never before. Evidence of a bona fide marriage must be submitted right away with the I-130. Lease Health Insurance Will A few pictures Documents which show you living at the same location.
  11. Item # 4 under the I-130 package instructions explains that passport can be used. Note the word "or".
  12. Have you studied the guide? I posted this link in the very first reply to your post back in June.
  13. The requirements are the same for the primary sponsor and the joint sponsor.
  14. ***Topic moved to the Tourist Visa forum***
  15. I would certainly opt for her citizenship. There are advantages of Citizenship vs Green Card holder status. No worry about losing status, free travel in & out of the US, not reporting every move to USCIS, and not having the hassle of renewing Green Cards are the ones which come to mind. Tell your wife the citizenship process is a piece of cake....because it is. I urge her to file her N-400 as soon as she is eligible (late this year, it appears).

  17. @Family suggested we send a letter to request a combo interview. This is a letter I uploaded with wife's N-400 application. Did it help? I'm not sure. Did it hurt? , No. Absolutely Not!! Did we get a combo interview? Yes. Our letter: Wife Name Address August 7, 2022 US Citizenship & Immigration Services P.O. The status of my I-751, case number MSC1XXXXXXXXX has been “Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview” since May 2019. I have received no RFEs or requests of any kind. Sincerely, Wife Signature Name
  18. Yes. It means do not make travel arrangements to immigrate to the US.
  19. You can pay either before or after traveling to the US. Paying as soon as possible after the visa is issued is advised. His actual plastic Green Card will not be produced until the fee has been paid AND he has entered the US. You can pay at the following link. You will need 2 numbers which are, both, located on the visa. USCIS - Immigrant Fee - USCIS Immigrant Fee
