  4. Your attorney might be able to use that letter to get a favorable divorce decree. No financial obligations would be a good thing.

  7. It is Embassy/Consulate dependent..... NVC does not receive phone calls.
  8. You need to file an I-751 package ASAP. You need to include a GOOD explanation for the late submittal. Your N-400 cannot proceed until an I-751 has been approved. It will take several weeks to receive the I-751 receipt. You could be looking at 2 years before the I-751 is processed. I would also be prepared for the N-400 to be denied. Good luck.
  9. Then, you just have to be patient. It is normal. Consulates normally have to request K-1 cases when they have availability.
  10. CBP officers have a LOT of discretion...a LOT.
  11. Do you have a source for that official policy? There are plenty of people who successfully visit with a pending I-129f. I agree that overcoming the "assumed intent" to stay in the US might be more difficult, but there are a lot of people who tell CBP who they are visiting. Like you said, showing a reason to return is the key.
  12. Find a local passport acceptance agency. Normally, this is a USPS post office or a county clerk (when applicable). You can usually schedule an appointment on their site. They all give good instructions on exactly what you will need. In my wife's case, we needed: Passport application, her Naturalization certificate (and a BW copy), a state ID (and copy), and 2 payments.
  13. I think that says it all. I think you should try to let go, move on to seek happiness for yourself.
  14. Even Bill Maher tears into these kids because they have no idea about the people they are supporting.
  15. Who is "we"? I thought everything was fine in the marriage prior to her leaving....or have you consulted the attorney after she left?
  16. Yes. I would get a response to them ASAP!!!!! I would include a letter with a GOOD explanation as to why it is late. I would beg for mercy, so to speak. Then, you wait....
  17. In our case, we had waited 40 months for our I-751 to be processed. We had no RFEs. Wife submitted her N-400, and 4 months later both the I-751 and N-400 were approved in our combo interview. I'd say that the N-400 approval would not have been any faster if our I-751 had been previously approved.
  18. In most case, I don't think it matters. There are many N-400 cases here which were approved rapidly with pending I-751s. The officer either conducts a combination interview or the officer approves the I-751 at the same time as the N-400 without an I-751 interview. I have seen only a very few N-400s delayed because of local office not having the I-751 files. If you are asking if it is better to wait out an I-751 approval before applying for citizenship, I'd say definitely no.
  19. How so? She is inside the US. ESTA??? I thought she was a J-1.
  20. Do you have a good divorce attorney? If not, get one.
