I (USC) received a letter from the NVC with our case #. It says "the Embassy will contact your fiance when they are ready to process his or her petition." Haha, yea right. Interview is already scheduled. I'm so glad VJ exists.

No. Just keep that passport safe and make sure to use the visa before the expiry date that'll be printed on it.
    Enjoy your trip!

    Hi,
You just need to be aware of the expiration date on the visa. She must enter before her visa expires.
There is no risk of waiting.
    Have fun.

Go by the expiration date on the visa itself, not the medical date. It is possible for the expiration of the visa to be shorter than 6 months from the medical date > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/578192-k-visa-valid-for-how-long-before-us-entry/?p=7926480

And keep that brown envelope from the embassy in a very safe place if you are going to be on the move a lot. It cannot get opened or torn. Guard it with your life! Buy a sturdy document wallet to keep it in.

I view marriage as a partnership and all assets are shared. My wife and I have joint accounts that we deposit to and spend from. It was a little rocky at first since both of us were spending and I was only used to just me spending, but we solved that with a budget. Now we use software called YNAB to track income, expenses, and our budget. If one of us needs to spend beyond our personal monthly allowance we have a talk to see where that money will come from (savings, or another budget category). It's not perfect and sometimes we spend too much without that talk, but we are working on getting better at that. It lifted a lot of the burden from me of keeping track of our joint finances and eliminated the need for her to ask me if she could buy something (I didn't like that question).
My wife had a lot of things to learn when she got here. Driving was one of those things and one of the biggest nightmares for me. It was nearly 2 years of me driving her to and from work making my commute 1 hour instead of 10 mins. We spent a lot of money on driving school and I came close to many heart attacks, but I'm happy to report that she passed the test a few months ago and landed a new job that pays pretty well and she loves. I've made it a point to help and teach my wife the things she may not have known from her life in PH. I provided support and encourage she needed in tough times, like when she was trying to get a new job and was not having any luck and when she didn't pass the driver's license exam. So, to me the couple years of discomfort were worth it.
I recommend the book, The Obstacle Is the Way, for anyone that is facing obstacles or trails (so everyone) to get a different perspective on facing life challenges and why they are actually good! Marrying someone from a different culture is not an easy thing and I know my wife and I still have a long road ahead.

A screen shot of the case in the ready status is good enough for the Medical. Same thing with the NVC Case letter, a copy is just fine. When my fiancee went to interview they did ask for NVC Case letter. I scanned and sent it to her and that's what she provided to the embassy. I'm sure a screen shot of the CEAC status will work as well.

WOW Dude! Why are you so negative toward Filipinos? Ever been to the Philippines? Don't give me that line that "I don't have to go to know" because your just full of it. I am married to a Filipino and she is so much fun to be with. She is smart and a very hard worker not to mention a Great Parent to her kids and now a Grand Son.
Trust me, you can find bad apples in every country including Great Britain!

Seems like you guys are against each other. You are married now... for a year. Remember that now that you two are PARTNERS in this life. Sharing one life. So it shouldn't be "####### for tat". If you both are aware of always meeting in the middle, compromising, and helping each other in your LIFE (not lives) then you guys are set for an amazing LIFE/marraige.

I assume you're not generalizing, because if you were, you'll open a can of worms that'll just get you embarrassed
Weren't you the one who petitioned for her to be with you, which is why she left her country? Or did she force you to have her go there and stay with you against your will?
Stay reasonable and avoid blaming an entire people for your personal frustrations...

I've been lurking this thread since its inception but remained tight lipped. Since it is out there now, I echo the concerns about problems with alcohol rather than problems with immigration.

It will not affect your K1 visa, but it will affect your life because your fiance is an alcoholic.

Glad someone else said it. You want to marry someone who's been CAUGHT three times drunk driving? And that's three times CAUGHT, nevermind all the other times they were drunk driving and nobody was the wiser.
In Texas, the third DWI is a felony. So, you are marrying a felon.
In Texas, someone who is convicted of a DWI could face a $10,000 fine, two-ten years in prison, and complete no fewer than 80 hours of community service. The convicted may serve time in a drug rehab in lieu of spending time in jail. Your fiance will have to pay as much as $2000 a year for 3 years to keep his driver's license -- IF he's allowed to keep his driver's license.
Mark my words - this is a FELONY. Almost 10,000 people every year are killed in a car accident involving a drunk driver. Your fiance made a decision at least three times that could have easily killed someone. Your question was, "Will this affect us?" Even IF the USCIS and the embassy don't care, YES, this problem will affect you!!! Do you want to be the passenger in a car driven by a drunk driver? Do you want to have a police officer come to your door in the middle of the night saying that your husband killed himself in a car accident? Or do you want to see your husband on trial for killing someone's child, spouse, or parent because he was driving drunk? No? Then you really need to re-think this. Because yes, alcoholism WILL affect you.

3 dwi - this is someone with a serious problem. 1, ok fine lesson learned. 3 is a huge redflag, this person has no regard for their life or others. Walk away.

I'd give it some time. Among other things you are probably going through major culture shock.
You have only been here for two weeks and you have 90 days.
You say he doesn't have money for a plane ticket. Use this as an opportunity to really examine your feelings. Maybe you do want to marry him, maybe you don't. You need to be absolutely sure which it is before either marrying or returning home.
If you are religious, ask advice from a priest/pastor. Ask your family for help figuring out your next step.
After marrying my husband I had episodes like this, too. I missed my family of origin that I left behind and sometimes I just wanted to run back to Hungary. At the end of the day, though, for me this is my family now and I made TX my home.

For whatever it is worth here is how the visa timeline worked for us.
Monday July 11th 7:30am was the interview,
Friday July 15th status changed on appointment website to "Passport has been received from the consular section, and is currently being processed for delivery."
Wednesday July 20th 2:30pm Philippine time fiancee got a text message that it was ready to pickup at the 2go outlet.
Your times could vary but that is what happened for us.
    Good luck to you.

If indeed this the questioning she endured you have a right, in my opinion to complain. Talk about these issues with her a ND send her back. She has to be strong or they will eat her up which is what they did. She has to take the attitude that she has no concerns about going to the USA. NONE!!
If it fails again send her to Cebu. They are easier on the girls that interview with them.
