    Hi Guys,

just a fast heads up in regards to NVC processing times for F2A.  There are multiple threads for CR1 and K1 visas but non for F2A.
My documents where received and scanned by NVC mid February and today March 7 we got case completed and approved by NVC.
My wife and I are very happy, will have a glass of Champagne later on

However, this shows that NVC does process F2A in the same speed as they would for CR1 and they are much faster than the 11 weeks they state on their website. Good luck everyone. Hope everyone will be with his partner soon!

Although guidance is for only up to 4 weeks till January, we have movement of 5 weeks, till 22. December, 2015 at the upcoming visa bulletin.

Some good news here! Hope that brightens your day

We have already a 1 months movement, at least to December 15. 2015, for  the upcoming Visa Bulletin!
Considering we had 2 x 3 weeks this year, this is already good news

Fingers crossed we can maybe get 1 more week additionally, will keep you posted if it happens.

This is interesting... If an immigrant is female and 30 years younger than USC (age ain't such issue) and if immigrant is male and 30 years younger than USC (oh boy you are done deal). This aspect baffles me a lot.

Anyway be prepared to be denied initially and it may take multiple years for you guys to get through.

I would suggest about May 2018 will be your interview, plus minus 1 months. Let`s hope earlier but this is what I suggest as of current data.

Well, talking of F2A,2013 the VB was current. 2014 and 2015 were almost identical with good VB movement, and as we see, similar numbers.
In recent years only the election year stands out and there is no real trend at least short term. As for 2016, the later in the year, the more applications.
People realized that Trump could win, got scared, and applied more and more. This means people with PD till mid of 2016 will do better than people with PD later in 2016.

Not true.  It is a FACT that many, if not most people who were habitual users for years don't just stop using.  Even after treatment, there is a high rate of recurrence.   Therefore,  applicants who have a history of drug use usually have to undergo treatment before being allowed to immigrate to the US.  That's why the one year ban happens.
Other posters are just trying to tell you to prepare yourself for the delay.

the reentry permit is ment for long stays abroad and it is used when you return to the us. so coming back every few months would defeat the purpose of getting one.

you can file for your husband now. then file for a reentry permit and when you get it you can live in Spain for just under 2 years by which time his visa should be about ready and you can come to the us to get things sorted and wait for him to arrive.

Did you ever get an answer to your question? One thing my fiancé and I learned the hard way is to never book flights or quit jobs until you have your visa in your hand!
My fiancé was approved in Lima on June 16, a Friday. On Monday, he put in his notice at work. After that, he received an email from the embassy telling him to come back for another interview. We were TERRIFIED. Once they told him he was approved, we thought we were good! We didn't know things could change! They told him they needed more proof that alfredo was never in the US illegally after finishing his masters at the university of North Carolina (he had a special extension that allowed him to stay and work in the US for a time after graduation--he had already sent in that proof, but somehow they missed it and were asking for it again!)
Anyway, we sent in the proof, but were stuck in administrative processing for 2 weeks. We were so afraid that he would somehow end up being denied, or our case would be stuck in AP for months and months when he already quit his job!
Thankfully, just last Friday, on his LAST day of work, we found out his visa was issued!  We are so relieved, but we learned our lesson to never make concrete plans until you have your visa in your hand--there's just always the possibility that things could change and you'd be out the cost of a plane ticket. Sorry for the looooong story just to answer a simple question! Lol

For those of you having medicals in Lima. My husband had his medical with Dr. Nora Lari. He liked her very much. I did not go to the medical, because I didn't want anything inflated because I was a gringa. Well, he had to receive only two shots, tetanus and MMR. They were 48 soles each. He requested Hep B since he had started the series earlier. It was 49 soles. All 3 shots totaled 145 soles. If he only got the two, it would have been 96 soles. We also had to get the results earlier than they wanted to have them ready. Although, when we made the appointment, they said two days. We got the results when we needed them and we even forgot to bring the receipt.
I would highly recommend Dr. Nora Lari. She was honest and we felt that we were treated fairly.

Doing all the paperwork is a red flag? No. I did all the paperwork (save for stuff I wasn't sure about). I am paperwork minded, my husband is not. I had a 5 minute K1 interview and approved for AOS without interview. I think most people assume the guys aren't really into the paperwork. Sexist? Possibly, but girls are typically more detail minded.

    Hi mallafri76,

I must disagree with you on your last statement, which can not be seen as black or white. I agree that there are millions of illegals in this country, but in many sectors like the one I work for (agriculture), they are not taking ANY jobs from USC or LPRs. Quite contrary, they are the only ones willing to work in those very intense and low paying jobs. And unfortunately the government does not offer them a way (visa, temporary work permit, etc.) to work legally. These are jobs that help provide the basic food that many USC or LPRs consume each day and also provide high quality goods/produce destined for exports to many countries that bring millions of dollars to the U.S. economy.

I believe that those of us who had the fortune of immigrating legally into this country should not judge those who can't. Can you imagine living in a country where you are constantly persecuted, no safety, full of gang violence, receive death threats and having a government so corrupt that you are better of leaving and putting your life at risk while doing so? Many people from Central Americans come to this country for those reasons ... I think we should show some level of compassion and not judge. While it is wrong to break the law, unfortunately this topic is much more complicated and other factors should be considered.

Employers always find ways to hire them, even if they are illegal/undocumented. Some use ITIN numbers or false SSN. This is a topic that does not make any sense for people who go through legal channels, but a reality for many people in this country.
