Got my biometrics appointment done today. Had to travel to the middle of nowhere and spend 90 minutes on a bus to get there. But the actual process there was smooth and easy. I had to show my marriage certificate for my name change too. Now all I can do is wait. Still hoping I will get my travel permit to go home over the holidays.

Wow, I know I'm new here but the sanctimony on this site is off the charts. You don't know this person's story or situation. Maybe they're a woman, in which case having family find out you've had premarital sex can be deadly in some cases. Ever heard of honor killings? How about just answer the OP's question and keep the judgement to yourself?

First and foremost seek Christ. Ask Him to guide you and that'll surely not be a divorce. Find a church ⛪ get involved. There is churchs out there that will give you and your husband free marriage counseling year round. Have faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

I have seen that a fair number of Immigration Lawyers are scum and just out to get as much money from as possible. So that's why they are trying to spread fear so that someone feels that they need to pay for an expensive lawyer to settle their case. 

When you go to Ghana:
1.  Keep good travel records.
2.  Take some pictures of you two together.
3.  Do NOT take part any any customary ceremonies which could be seen as a "marriage".

Well, sure it's not a common thing, but I recall at least two cases right now, one from March and the other one Jan/Feb, where the beneficiary was contacted by the Embassy or they got a NVC letter, and never heard from USCIS when their case was Approved or got the NOA2 in the mail.
Those are weird days when it comes to USCIS

After months of being apart my fiancé has arrived in the US.  The Atlanta airport is quite busy so the line for US Customs was incredibly long took him over 3 hours to get through.  When he finally got to an agent the conversation lasted 2 mins, they  explained the rules of the K1 visa: 90 days to get married, no international travel until the AOS is completed.
 
i was terrified while waited since his phone died I had no way to reach him but luckily some others had families on the immigration visa line and they let me know that the line was quite long.
 
With that said, I just wanted to send a giant thank you to everyone that answered any questions, you provided me with so much support during this trying time.
 
I wish you all the best during the rest of this process and a wonderful marriage.

Hi everyone this morning i check my status it was still in AP.. then after lunch  i check my status and  got surprise it was ISSUED. Yey!

Thanks for letting me know what to expect.  We will wait and continue to pray to God. This is a hard process but God has the final say.

It is with great excitement that after 111 days of craziness, we got the RFE notice today! So on to the approval..
 
I know not "officially approved"  but usually its something we can answer or provide and will get approved right? I have no idea just yet what they want, but surely we can get it right back to them and will get approval. If I get proof right away and it  sent back in we should be "officially approved"  in 2-3 weeks!!!!!  I kept telling Grace, "Just give me an approved or RFE  we will get through this, I know it!"       
 
YES YES YES YES !!!!!!!!  And yes she is jumping for joy up and down!!!!
 
Now to get the RFE sent back in,  and in 1 1/2 - 2 months from approval, (HK is fast) Grace will be here!!!!

And to others, dream big, hang in there, you CAN do this too..  I am praying it's just a checked box or something.. if anyone else recently has had a RFE,  what was asked from you? 

We have to do an embassy transfer once it arrives in KSA.

Ich hab gewartet bis der Brief aus Frankfurt kam. Da war auch noch ein Dokument mit dabei, dass du ausfüllen musstest. Es hat aber soweit ich mir erinnere auch gar nicht lange gedauert. Ich glaub ca. 1 Woche. Dann hab ich das direkt am gleichen Tag sogar noch zurückgeschickt und konnte innerhalb einer weiteren Woche sogar schon meinen Termin online buchen. In Frankfurt ging alles recht schnell.
Wie war dein Medical? Alles easy oder?
Wo gehts bei dir hin? Chicago?
 

Hallo ihr Lieben. Ich komme gerade aus Frankfurt, wo ich mein medical gemacht habe. Unser Paket ist laut DHL tracking heute in der Frankfurter Botschaft angekommen aber unser NVC status ist immer noch In Transit. 
Muss ich jetzt auf den Brief von der Botschaft warten bevor ich Paket 3 losschicke? Und wie lange hat das bei euch so gedauert? 
Ich drueck euch die Daumen, dass ihr bald alle arbeiten duerft. Ich mach dann ab July erst mal Urlaub
 
 

Filing for AOS does not actually grant a legal status. It grants authorized stay, so she can't be deported just for being in the country. However, since she technically has no legal status, places like SSA and DMV and many banks won't deal with her. Once you get EAD, you can should be able to use that to satisfy the DMV and banks and such.

Once AOS is received you begin a period of authorized stay.  Don't overthink it.

No, the worst thing is telling your friends you still can't pick a date because if they don't but tickets now, when they are still cheap, they won't be able to come to the wedding. I mean return tickets are 600 dollars already. That's more than my 23 year old friends make a month in my country. I can't ask them to spend more. My best friend already said she's gonna have to pass. I might suprise her with tickets so she can come anyways, but I can't do that for multiple people. This sucks.

If I could answer that ... i could probably make a lot of money
