To say this was the price to pay to withdraw and there was no other way only proves the treasonous incompetence of this administration not to mention they are now a danger to American lives.

The United States Government has just demonstrated that they are far more dangerous to American lives than the Taliban ever was.

I remember when NO ONE voted for Carter.  I suspect we will be seeing that again.

Why is the state department telling US citizens they are on their own to get to the airport and if they somehow manage to get there they aren't guaranteed a flight out? Meanwhile the UK is sending troops out to assist their citizens in getting to the airport. I know people in the military including my brother. I am being told by them that rank and file US troops are upset that they aren't being allowed to rescue US citizens. My brother fought in Afghanistan and he feels like the way this is being handled is the equivalent of Biden p*ssing on the graves of his friends who died over there. So I could care less what Biden or politico has to say about it as the situation on the ground is very different from what they are saying.

Yeah, he qualified that statement, and of course said nothing about the foreign allies that also want to get out.  Also, what the heck does this statement mean?  Will they determine who is left on August 31 and determine if they should be left on their ow?

There are reports in the media that Joe let the State Department take the lead in this debacle.  Well, at least we handed over an $800 million dollar embassy to the Taliban.  In the end, it is quite obvious that Joe and his Administration does not care about USCs either here, or abroad, and our reputation amongst our staunches allies is taking a huge beating.

It certainly is a mess. Other nations like the UK are sending rescue missions for their citizens while our state department issues statements saying US citizens are on their own. This is more than a failure. It is neglect and an impeachable offense in my opinion.

Just found out yesterday that a dear friend has covid in one of them thar low-vaccine states.  In his 60s.  Obese.  In the hospital on IV fluids.  Sad.  Oh, and fully "vaxxed". Delta Don't Care.  DDC... you read it here first!

Then we agree on both counts.  See how easy that was?

No it's not a contest, but the draconian measures that seem prevalent in blue areas are doing less to slow the disease than we can see in other countries where no mask mandates nor "vaccine mandates" have ever been issued.  Where the natural course has been allowed to be run, they are actually seeing less covid than we are in many states.

When you say "continue"... when did ye plan to start?  CA is leading the pack on total deaths and total cases.  The only reason it falls lower among the pack is due to the large population.
