  1. I thought that option didnt exist anymore ? I called NVC and they couldnt tell me

I called nvc twice, once the guy told me there was no date yet, second time the last eventually gave me the date but I had to be a little pushy. Good thing because we never got packet 4....our lawyer had to confirm with embassy after I told her NVC gave me a date. We never got packet e either, so at least you received that. We just had a LOT of trouble with M's mail.

  2. Well, our interview is tomorrow night (usa time). I'm a complete nervous wreck. I've quadruple checked the paperwork and I think we are good to go.

The extremely unlikely chance of them saying no is making me lose my absolute mind though. I know it's silly to think that. We've done everything right. All the paperwork is good. We are quite obviously in a real relationship.

    Still scary.

    Good Luck!!

  3. Hi guys! I know this might sound strange but ever since my fiance got the visa and got the ticket, I have been excited and extremely nervous at the same time. I can't let one day pass without thinking of what if he doesn't like it here, what if he can't adjust, what if he'll feel lonely even if I do everything not to run into that problem. We haven't seen each oher for a while since we were waiting for the "6 month" fiance approval process so know I am even more anxious. Don't get me wrong, I am extremely happy to be with him, to show him around, to start building our family but I can't help myself but to feel anxious all the time. Sorry guys, I know this is not the place but just felt that this is the place that someone might understand. :) Thanks!

I totally understand you! I haven't seen him in almost a year, and now with less than 19 days, I am feeling the same. Excited, but nervous about all the what ifs like finding a job, etc. At least we'll be together to work through it :)

  4. quick question for you, first of, your diary entry of the embassy interview day is super helpful for a lot of people myself included, i do have one question you may be able to help with, when did you pay the fees for the london embassy part, once you received the Packet 4 do they tell you how to make payment ? or before? i only ask as I'm awaiting my interview date and have not been informed to make any payments yet.

    many thanks

    Steve

We paid ours as soon as our interview date was confirmed! :)

  5. Check my signature. Interview on 20th, AP on 21st, Issued on 22nd!

I don't think I checked on the 20th after I got home from the interview (I didn't think it would change that quickly). I checked on the 21st to see it had gone to "Administrative Processing", then was very surprised when I checked on the 22nd to see it changed to "Issued".

My Visa was delivered 8 days after the interview

M's just changed to ready this morning, so his was in AP 3 days. :)

  6. My fiancé was approved today.

I wanted to give a smaller write-up here, before I poke him to relay a larger review when he has been able to relax from the long journey.

There wasn't very many people at the embassy today it seems, he was right at the front of the line, so he went through quickly. All in all I think the process took just about an hour. There was no grumpy asian lady either. He was very prepared and organized. They didn't ask to see his DS160 confirmation and didn't want it when offered. They took both proofs of income he offered. Everyone was very polite. His interviewer seemed to be a new trainee, so she was a bit disorganized and seemed unfamiliar and a little frazzled but did her best. She only asked a few questions, and as his accent is quite thick, as usual she had some trouble understanding him. I think I'm the only American that can. :P

She said it would be about two weeks.

It's a ridiculous relief that it's finally all over.

This sounds very similar to Michaels experience in Monday. He thought his interviewer was new too, as her supervisor stayed in the room the whole time. She only asked a few questions as well.

  8. Michael had his K-1 Interview today, and was approved! He said he waited about an hour and a half before he was called in and the lady that interviewed him was super nice. He thinks she may have been new, because her supervisor stood behind her for the whole interview.

Wooo that was a huge relief! Now we can finish wedding details lol.

  9. Awesome, Congrats!!!!

Yesssss Yuna!! So excited it's almost over!!! James has his interview the day after tomorrow (Friday) and you guys have your's next week. Both grooms will be here in plenty of time for the weddings.

Congrats!! Michael has his Monday! Happy to say he should be here in time for our wedding too!

  10. quick question everyone, now my medical is booked for this Thursday 23rd July and my application is in london, can i make my appointment for embassy now ? or do i have to wait until the embassy receive my medical ? then make the appointment.

If you are referring to interview appointment for K-1 visa, you cannot make the appointment. London assigns the appointment once they have DS160, medical results, and readiness form.

  11. No harm emailing them through the link that I sent. Takes about 5 working days for a reply, why not do that now and keep trying NVC in meantime.

Getting through to NVC is not always easy. Embassy say 6 weeks estimation, average is probably 4-6.

If you don't get the letter before the interview that's OK as the will have your name on the list anyway.

I agree with Rob, do the contact them link as well. I did that as well - best to pursue all avenues available to you!

I will tell you that from the time few times I've called the shortest time was first thing in the morning when they opened. I also had luck around 3:30pm when I only waited about 15 mins. Though, it did take me about 40 dials to get through that time :)

  12. That's what I am nervous about. They say you need to wait, but the date could pass. I'll call the NVC again tomorrow morning and see if they can give me any information at all.

What will happen if you don't receive the letter before you go to your interview?

Our lawyer is including the confirmation email they received from the embassy in the packet they are sending Michael to take to the interview, so he will use that if the letter never shows up.

  13. Yes, everything was submitted after we received the case number before the medical exam. I'm just concerned that he has not received anything at all yet.

We still have not received the letter for the interview. Our lawyer was able to confirm the date with the embassy as it is scheduled for next Monday, July 27th. Our dates are in my signature for when we submitted everything - according to the embassy they mailed our letter out on July 8th, but neither Michael nor our Lawyers have received a copy as of today. I also have not received a response to my two inquiries I followed online.

I was able to get the interview date by calling the NVC and asking if they could see a interview date assigned to our case. The lady did not want to tell me but after persisiting she did give me the date. You could always try to see if they will tell you. If I had waited the 6 weeks, which is when our Lawyer was also going to follow up, that would have been August 6th which is almost 2 weeks after the interview date assigned.

  14. I put August the 10th. So I'm not sure the date thing worked if you are sept! There must be something a bit random!

The only difference I can see is the medical dates. Perhaps they waited until they had the medical results to assign an interview?

Nothing about this process makes sense. I just received my NVC letter with case number today, it was dated July 1. I got my case number from them on June 9th lol - the case has been in London almost a month. Soooooo efficient.
