  1. Thanks a lot! Call on Monday again, don't wait until the middle of the weeks. There have been so many cases where the case number was assigned and the officer didn't give it to them! Best of luck!

I called tonight. Got thru after about 9 redials, was on hold 54 minutes. Spoke with another nice lady who gave me all my information :) The CEAC does not return information yet, but I will try again in a few days. I think I saw some people who said theirs did not update til it was at the embassy?

Question- do the numbers in the case number indicate the date the case was entered?

  2. So, even though there is no need for it other than tracking, I did call the NVC tonight. After 8 months of nothing at TSC, the idea that I can actually track my case through these next steps makes me happy. After about 1 hour listening to that great music, I had a really nice lady answer. She said they received my case today, but it hasn't been entered yet. She gave me the 35 day spiel, but I'll probably try to call back sometime next week to see if there is a case number :)

  3. *Deep breath*

    *Inhale, exhale*

Guys. We were approved. On June 2nd. The emotion is great obviously, but it's a bittersweet feeling knowing that there are others still on the September trainwreck.

I would like to apologize for not being more active lately, I was assaulted the other day and the ******* took my laptop. Happens I guess, but hello NOA2! Hahahah..ha.

OMG I'm so sorry to hear you were assaulted - that sux!

However, congrats on finally getting the NOA2!~ Hoping it happens for everyone else still waiting :)

  4. Thank you Kaisara.

On USCIS case statut it says that we have to wait by july 20, so we can't send inquiry, all we have to do is to stay strong and wait...

I really hope that the officers treating september files are still in live.

It will happen - I heard back 11 days after my RFE response. You are not too much more than that, and there was a US holiday in there that would impact that. Hopefully you will hear something shortly!

  5. Ok, so when I was stalking my case for months upon end, I checked the 10 case numbers within my range. My Receipt date was 9/19, and I found a few numbers around mine with the same date. I watched as a number of them were approved early April. I eventually received an RFE on 4/30, however I continued to watch the numbers to see which ones still hadn't been touched. I just checked and the lone receipt number from the batch I was watching received an RFE tonight. If that is anyone here, I know that the RFE adds time, but at least the case has been looked at. I am hoping and praying that the rest of the September filers still waiting also hear something about their cases tonight.

    Many hugs to all!

  6. A year?! Oh my gosh! You two deserve an award!

Yep, he was here last August and left September 7th if I remember correctly. I wrapped up the paperwork, and it was shipped off on September 18th, with our wedding set for this September 12th. At the time, it seemed so far away.

We didn't want to risk any issues with visits in between, so we decided that we would use that as time for him to save some money, especially since he will have to travel to London twice - once for medical and once for interview.

It was hard to go through Christmas without him, as we've been together 12 years and he has been here every Christmas. Though, the waiting was livable until we hit about the 6 month mark in TSC, the next two months were difficult. Mostly because as we waited and waited, the wedding date was creeping closer and becoming more in question. Even though we have NOA2, I will feel better once we get out of TSC permanently.

Here's hoping that the end of this week brings good news for everyone still waiting for something :)

  7. Thank you guys :) I'm not one to break down easily either, but like jktigerfan said, this process took a huge toll on me. Yesterday I couldn't get out of my head that, if I'm lucky enough, I'll be in the USA in August, and by that time it would have been 7 months since I last saw Rich. I get knots in my stomach just thinking about it. Add on to that the powerless feeling (we've been waiting over 8 months and our file still hasn't been OPENED?!), the incomprehension on why nobody can feel an ounce of humanity in USCIS, and the awful feeling that I am trapped in a life that isn't mine anymore.

I honestly can't wait to put all that behind me.

Cheers for staying around, and hug party :)

I'm praying for you too! I know how you are feeling...I'm not anticipating Michael to be here before August, and at that point it will be almost a year since I've seen him! I had a huge breakdown about 2 weeks before my RFE. I am hoping you hear something tonight!!

  8. Yeah mine took 9 days to send from the TSC to the NVC and another 9 days for it to physically show up IIRC. Then when your petition is forwarded to the embassy, they'll get an electronic version much sooner than they will receive the physical copy (2 and 7 days for me respectively); this is kinda like how you received your NOA1 and NOA2 electronically versus the physical copy that you received in the mail. Your CEAC status will change to READY once the embassy receives your electronic copy, but depending on the embassy you won't be able to schedule an appointment immediately after the status is changed to ready. It just depends. Moscow for example MAKES YOU WAIT (those frickers!) until they receive the paper copy, forward it to their immigration unit and someone physically and manually enters it into their database. Only then do they send you an email with scheduling instructions. But not all embassies are that way, so investigate to see how yours works.

Either way you'll need to do the DS-160 and pay the fiance visa interview fee ($265). You might as well start on the DS-160; and be prepared, it is a royal pain in the a$$.

ps-one other thing kaisara: don't be alarmed if your petition isn't sent in a week or so. There was another filer who's petition was approved on the same day as mine, but their petition didn't leave the TSC until *18* days later. Yup, *18* days. Wbeem's by contrast left in 4. It is HIGHLY variable.

Thank you so much. Yeah, I'm hoping that it can get out of there soon - I will scream if it takes 18 days ! lol. Really trying for a late July interview as our wedding is set for Sept 12th. We have a lawyer, and Michael has already completed a paper copy of the DS 160 months ago lol - I asked what we could do while waiting. The lawyer will enter that for us. He has also obtained his police reports. The biggest thing will be getting the papers to move along - I've been gathering info on London's requirements, and you are not supposed to schedule the medical until the embassy has received the case file. However, I know it can be done if you have your NVC info - so right now we are at a standstill until it at a minimum gets there :)

Boy am I happy to finally be able to proceed to this thread - hi guys :)

    Me too!! Welcome :)

BTW Dana-Kristen I noticed you guys met on WoW. Do you still play? Haha Michael and I met on a game pre-WoW but have been playing WoW ever since release :)

  9. I have a quick question. Will the USCIS case status update page always be updated when the send the case to the NVC? I received my email NOA2 last week, and the hardcopy yesterday. The hardcopy says "we've sent your case to the National Visa Center blah blah blah" but I expected that its not actually shipped until the case status changes to show its been sent.

    Any thoughts are appreciated :)

  10. The group has been created, under the name : Endeavor to persevere

It is a closed group, therefore you need to ask to get in to be able to see the posts. I hope to keep it friendly and interesting for all of us. :)

If you can't access the group for whatever reason, send me a message on here with your actual name and I'll try from my side :)

Hope we can start sharing happy thoughts and posts rather than the constant frustration we have been in the past 8 or so months! :)

There are two closed groups, I sent the request to the one with the lowercase p in persevere, as that's how you noted it above :)

  11. I personally love that idea! Perseverance is definitely something we have/had to find within ourselves.

I will go for that title, and will make a closed group, meaning people will be able to find the group with the name, but won't see the content unless they're approved.

There is an Endeavor to Persevere community, so if you name the group the same people just have to make sure they are in the right place :)
