  1. Looks like it was CC! :dancing:

Scan date Dec 11th. CC Feb 5th.

Now it sounds like I'll fall into yet another limbo as there is zero information available from NVC on the timeline to an interview. I've checked the timelines spreadsheet and it seems to be 1-2 months-ish.

Does anyone know if calling the consulate will provide any information on wait times?

Yes, after waiting up to 60 for a case complete from the NVC you have to wait for an interview date.....the thing is no one has any idea or timelime.

I have been thinking about calling my embassy to see if I can gather more info. Maybe you can try?

I was hoping for a late March interview but I have all but given up on that. ?

  2. I got checklist a day before my scan date.....I pray you don't get a checklist, I'm wasting another 2 months waiting to get my checklist review

But I've seen some ppl got their case review a week before their 60 days mark as well

Getting a checklist that late is the worst! I got one on day 54! I was devastated?

Even now I feel bad, I could have been on my way to the interview by now.

  3. Hi i just received my CC complete yesterday and my scan date was 9 December 14.

    Congrats!

bg509 I'm sorry to hear abt ur difficulties, I know Nvc can be a pain in the ### but don't loose faith, call them tomorrow u will get ur cc (case complete). I will keep u and ur wife in my prayers. God Bless.

Any luck with an interview date as yet? What about the other case you were waiting on?

  4. You are right. It's not the fault of the employees but the whole system. There are not enough employees to do the review in a timely manner. NVC is not prepared to deal with the huge number of approved cases recieved from USCIS Service centers. USCIS is trying to reach the average goal but NVC is way behind. The government is too busy to care about the agony of separated families who are waiting patiently to be united legally. Earlier NVC process was merely 1 month long but now? With time everything gets progressed but immigration system is excluded from that progress. Leave alone the progress it's actually retrogressing. Wonder why!! :(

It is frustrating that we who decided to do this legally get treated like this. I have only had two checklists...both times I had to wait up to 55 days. I can't imagine others who have had to wait past that time with no word or God forbid a supervisor review only to be told, yeah you need to send that info AND wait again.

Of course I get that the reps are frustrated, but we all are!!

What can be done to solve this? Is it more workers are the NVC? I can only see this backlog getting worse!

I really hope we are done with the NVC by that time.

that leads me to a question...is there any time of the year where things really slow down at the NVC? like during the summer are more applications received? Does that make sense? Or is it all one big muck all year round?

  5. Thank you!! I need all the prayers I can get at this point...can't believe i was already looking at planning a reception with friends and family bc i thought it all be done soon....i feel like such an idiot.. :/

Continue planning. It is good to focus on the finish line! I know it is difficult to be positive right now. I myself feel like ####### due to this wait, and reading your story made me feel worse! We must remain positive and keep goinG!

  6. I'm on the verge of tears right now....I just spoke with them on the phone and they said the signature doesn't look like an original bc they think it might be a copy. But it's 100% an original!!! I don't know what to do...they said they'd put it in supervisory review....but man oh man....another 60 days?? for something that isn't even true! they said the documents are complete otherwise!

I don't think a supervisor review takes another 60 days, in any event this is heart breaking to hear. I feel so bad. The sad thing about it is you had to wait 60+ days to find this out!! Why?

someone should have more info on how long this review will take. Right now you are stuck my friend. It doesn't even make sense to submit the document again (I think).

  7. Congratulations case complete. NVC schedules the interviews. The get the slots from the embassy and they start plugging people in based on case complete and your PD also comes into play

Hi, is this true for all visa categories? My PD has been current since last March but my case complete January 22nd 2015. I am f4 visa. The chances of getting an interview sooner are better because my PD became current so long ago?

  8. I promise I will! Not gonna to lie...I'm expecting the worst, bc this whole process has been just awful. I'm expecting something like..."yaa..approved...and the embassy says it'll be another year before we can get your wife an appointment".

To give everyone some background, my wife is in Iraq. The visa dept on Baghdad is not processing very many, if any, immigrant visas right now bc of ISIS. My wife, who happens to be in a really safe area-Kurdistan-was told that when NVC approves her papers, she'll have to travel to baghdad for the interview. Presently, Kurdistan shares most of its borders with ISIS than Iraq (crazy, right?!), so there was no way in hell i was going to be okay with her travelling to baghdad. So i fought like hell to have her papers transferred to turkey--i.e. get a new case number, etc. Initially, when I asked to have her reassigned, i was told that if my wife didnt want to risk travelling, that would be her problem--no understanding at all whatsoever of how incredibly dangerous that part of the world is--followed by a subsequent "click" when i demanded to speak to a supervisor. Eventually, I got someone nice and her case number was changed to reflect turkey-but that was four months ago. Then came the checklist in December, scanned Dec. 2, and the line's been cold ever since.

Fingers crossed I hear something positive tomorrow....because if I have to hear that script one more time, I'm going to need a few pints of mint chocolate chip cookie dough to drown my sorrows.

Wow! That sounds rough! I'm sorry for what you are going through.I will keep you in my prayers. I wish you nothing but good news tomorrow.

  9. this is ridiculous....62 days to look at a simple checklist...i cant believe DOS actually contracted all the employees at NVC from a private company. Federal employees are not allowed to behave like this...I checked the AOS status on ceac and it still says paid, not "N/A" which is what some folks believe is a good sign. Maybe this is their goal--to make applicants give up, resulting in a backlog reduction.

I would say call tomorrow at exactly 7 am. I'm sure they would have had an update for you today if they were open. Hang on! Tomorrow for sure. Please, let us know tomorrow what your update is.

  10. Day 62--absolutely nothing from NVC. No emails, no updates when I call-NOTHING. They received the checklist documents on December 2nd via the email they confirmed. They cherry on top is that their phone lines say that they're "closed" today. Some people are apparently getting through...after 8 phone calls.... I'm still not one of them. :/

I have lost complete faith that anything will ever happen at this point. I think I'd win the lottery sooner than get an approval and appointment date from NVC. They just don't care.

Keep trying!best time to call is at exactly 7 am eastern standard time.

I know there is a snow storm in that part of the US today so maybe they are (even more) understaffed if they are open.

  11. Your welcome and I was lucky for the first time in ages and didn't wait that long just the normal time like everyone else. Seems they stopped or sent most of the other catagories of Visas to Alexandria thank GOD! My case was a mess from the time I sent our I-130 so that was a blessing and now the interview at the worst Embassy in the WORLD. God willing with his grace and mercy he will give us another and final break. :Dsmileys-praying-931534.gif t0803.gif pope-smiley-emoticon.gif

    Good luck!

  12. Yes it's all Country/Embassy specific so the real busy Embassies will take longer for people to get their Interviews. Egypt used to take minimum 6 to 9 months just to get an interview, now it's back to normal. So it does usually take 1 to 2 months and they are scheduled twice a month.

Not sure if I've seen you here before but if not, graphics-welcome-010883.gif to the thread. :)

thanks! I'm in a different category so I don't post much here, but I look on. My case recently completed so I'm waiting on an interview date.

6 to 9 months? That must have felt like an eternity! I would have went mad Between that and the 60 day wait at the embassy.

I have to wait til the 16th to see if I got an interview and I'm already getting anxious.

    good luck to everyone waiting.

  13. Not a rant but just a question (kind of). From scanning dwheel's spread sheet I see most persons get an interview date around 60 days (give or take) from cc, but I see quite a few folks still waiting for interview dates from December.

Does this vary only by embassy? Or does visa category have something to do with it?

I am putting my money on a late March interview for me. Am I wrong to assume this? My cc was on 22nd January.

Also, are interview dates usually given more than one month in advance?

  14. What does your case status say on the ceac website. May be u should call the nvc too.

Last I checked (weeks ago) it said at the NVC. The rep told me interview scheduling begins first week of February and is completed by the 16th (this would be for March interviews). It would be nice to know the last set of dates they scheduled for February though. Yes, it would be nice but I doubt possible. I will sit, wait and enjoy the "action" here.

  15. I'm in a different category also f1a but my of should be current in the next visa bulletin priority date July 24 2007. Got case complete on September 2014 still waiting though for my status to change at ceac website still says at nvc ? Keep me informed and I will do the same.

Ok. I'm in f4. My PD has been current since early last year but case just completed this month. I was hoping for a March interview, but maybe I am fooling myself?. I am crossing every part of my body that is crossable and praying for the best. I guess I will know if I made it or not in a couple weeks.

Yes, I will keep you informed.

    Good luck!

  16. Anyone from Barbados? Or from any islands that use the Barbados embassy? I'm in a different visa category but just curious. My cc on 22nd January, I was told to call back on the 16th February to see if I got a March interview.

The rep told me interviews are scheduled in the first 2 weeks of every month for the next month.

it seems like this waiting may be worst than the NVC. At least I knew the wait would be around 60 days, now, I have to just....wait.

  17. Hey guys so i called the nvc this morning and spoke with an agent she informed me that they started scheduling march interviews for the Jamaican embassy but she cant tell me whether or not I'll get an Interview date. :( she tired to tell the nvc doesnt schedule the interviews the embassy does. LIES my husband and I have been in contact with the Jamaican embassy and they told us they give the nvc the dates and they scheduled the interview. I really hate all this running around from the nvc.

Yeah. From what I understand the embassies let the nvc know how many spots are available for that month and the nvc creates the schedule. For that the case is shipped to the embassy if an interview was scheduled.

  18. Congrats! Just got through reading the end of this thread and was following your 60 day journey and was very happy to see your CC. We are within 9 days of 60 from a checklist scan for our daughter (obviously driving us crazy) and it was great to see it is possible to get a CC!

Thank! Yes, I guess patience is all I needed, but it gets so difficult when others close to your scan date get a cc. Good luck on your case. Soon we will have to wait again, but this time for an interview date.

    good luck again.
