  1. Didnt take long for them to start reviewing my case maybe because my priority date was since last year only for them to send me a checklist for the AOS. As soon as I got it I sent them the corrected information the next day with even more detailed information and evidence. I am hoping to hear something from them no later then December 6. Its crunch time. I wonder what my life would be like if I had done the AOS right the first time and I cant imagine if I get another checklist. I am tired and its taking a huge toll on almost everything. Unfortunately when couples finally do get together they forget that this whole thing ever happen. As for me I will never forget.

Kinda in the same boat here. My PD has been current since start of this year. Imy waiting for my AOS to be reviewed and if there are no errors then case closed. I should know around the 1st December.

  2. Just a little update...I'm kinda worried already! Our package has not been delivered to the USCIS yet. We were told it was expected to arrive on the 23rd OCTOBER (by the folks at the post office and by the tracking website) but we haven't received a tracking update since the 19th October.

I called USPS and spoke to a rep (after getting frustrated with the prompt). She said the maximum shipping time has not elapsed as yet,it is up to 14 days.

I hope it isn't lost. Maybe it is a sign?

I just needed to share. Any updates from anyone?

  3. Hi, Emrich999

I only sent the passport sized photos, letter of intent and g325a form. I did not know about the birth certificate...

Then you will get an RFE (request for information). In the meanyime, read the guides that you can find here about the K1 process so you know exactly what documents you will need to send (those you didn't send). Start gathering them and wait for the RFE. Once you receive that send the requested files right away.

  4. 10/01 scan date here!

I don't want to get too excited about the "speed up" at the NVC but it beats nothing right? My last scan was a checklist for missing 864 form. I was told my IV package was received and reviewed and it was "ok". They only need the 864 form to close the case.

At this point I'm hoping for a c/c by 12/01 but I think I may get another checklist!

Congratulations to all the members with recent c/c.

  5. Hi.

My names were mixed up and the NVC asked me to send a cyear of the picture page of my passport with the request to have the names corrected. I didn't get an email to let me know that they received my letter or that the names were corrected. It was only when I called the nvc they said it was corrected. Try calling the NVC to confirm

  6. Hello all,

I was only wondering. What would happen if a couple with an approved K1 decides to get married outside of the US? This would be after the non USC has entered the US. Maybe in Canada? Maybe it wouldn't be possible since the non USC may have problems related entering the US?

How about not marrying in the specified state in the letter of intent (this would refer to same set couples).

I'm just curious about the answers.

    Thanks for the feedback!

  7. If this were me I would leave as is and pray that it was ok and there is no RFE....BUT if you have time and want to be extra sure, send a new letter with everything correct WITH an original signature in BLACK ink.

One officer may overlook it while another may not. Like I was telling a friend of mine, it is like a bag of mixed nuts! You just don't know who you will get to review the petition.

  8. About how long was each conversation? Some of the ones Harel and I have had span a few pages since we were both online at the same time.

We didn't have specific lengths, we just picked out important conversations...for example...one day we were chatting about a future together, what he wanted in a partner and what I wanted. It was just about half ofull a page. For others there were up to 2 pages of one convo. We wanted to show that yes we spoke about a future and we have been planning for it.

We printed our pictures at Walgreens and wrote on the back so this may be a problem for us but time will tell.

  9. Thanks Davesings & dsldesch.

Hopefully you get to file soon dsldesch. When you say online do you mean facebook? We included 15 pages of convo from facebook. We chose parts where we spoke about spending our lives together, where we menation ed by gifts for each other and taking trips together.

We had about 3 years of communication so we tried to have a conversation from each month. We also sent 20 pics, copies of postcards he sent me and immigration stamps. I am no expert at this BUT I should find out in a few months if we were on the right track.

    Good luck?

  10. Can you take the bus to Erie and have your fiancé pick you up on the Canadian side of the bridge where the bus stops? Then you can cross over together...processing your K1 shouldn't take that long. They are pretty quick there from what I have heard.

It's nice to see that we have a small group here from the Western NY area. I am originally from Toronto but love Rochester....great city and they have a great restaurant there called Trata that is in the old armory.

Well my fiance doesn't drive so that's the issue but I am thinking way ahead here. When I get to that bridge I will cross it.

Yes, Rochester is nice. I'm hoping to get there by June 2015! *fingers crossed*

  11. Yeah. The 60 day wait is a killer. I have 50 something days to go before the 864 is reviewed then I have a strong feeling that I will get another checklist.

This is my fault I lapsed on having my sibling complete the 864 form. The AOS and IV fees were paid since June 22nd and IV package submitted since July.

I'm praying that I get CC and transfered to the embassy by January.

  12. Is your fiancé flying into YYZ? If so, why not drive up to Toronto and pick up your fiance and cross over with them? I crossed over in Lewiston, NY with a huge cube van full of my stuff when moving here and when they asked what the purpose of my trip was, I told them it was to activate my K1 Visa. I was with immigration for 45 mins while they activated/processed all my paperwork. Easy peasy!

Liza, nice to see someone living so close to me going thru the immigration process as well.

    Regards

    Moe from Medina NY

I may consider flying into Canada then crossing the border IF I get my visa. The only issue is I would have to take megabus or grey hound bus to New York. I wouldn't want to hold up the bus for an hour.

My fiance is in Rochester. Great to see others from that area as well.
