  1. TB skin test is only for applicants 14 years old and below.

The US embassy doesn't care about your achievements. Education or work accomplishment is not the basis of visa approval. Your relationship with your sibling petitioner is what they will scrutinize so bring evidence of on-going relationship like photos of the two of you together and emails/chat/call logs.

They already know that you will not become a public charge because of the affidavit of support unless your petitioner's income changed from the last tax return that she/he submitted. Bring also the latest tax return and W2 of the petitioner and joint sponsor (if any).

Thank you for responding. One followup. If I get approved I am not intending to live with my petitioner. Could I be denied for that?

  2. hello,

I have a concern and question. I'm hoping someone will be able to help me out here.

I am the beneficiary (f4 visa) and my interview is in a couple weeks. I was trying to get as many shots done at home before I went to do the medical. I was trying to cut down on the cost, because I know getting shots at the medical can be expensive. I received my last shot on the 13th March (for MMR). Now, I was reading info on the medical, and I came across a section that spoke about the amount of time that has to elapse between a live shot (mmr, varicella ) and the TB skin test. It mentioned that a skin test cannot be administered within 4 weeks of receiving a live shot (but they can be administered the same day). It went on to state that this would delay having the medical completed and would in turn delay the interview. The medical is in a week so only about 3 weeks would have elapsed since the last shot. I still need to get a varicella shot done at the medical (none available locally)

    Am I in trouble??

Regarding the interview, should I take along any major accomplishments I have received or anything to show that I am a productive person? Like degrees, work achievements? Or is the embassy only concerned about a clear criminal record and medical?

  3. Hi all,

I am a bit confused as to what happens after a visa is approved in the f4 visa category. I am familiar with everything up to the point of interview.

I know that $165 has to be paid to the USCIS?

After point of entry, what happens? File for EAD and SSN while waiting for a green card?

    Is filing for EAD mandatory?

Will there need to be any adjustment of status forms to submit?

Is there a flowchart or time line available online? I have been trying to search for one or information but no luck.

    Can anyone help?

  4. Hi NYjones, in my case its now 52 days since scan date and am expecting for a cc soon. My question is that how long did u wait for an interview letter after you got the cc?

Hi! Hopefully you get a cc soon. I waited 40 days from my cc for interview letter (and about 75 days from my cc will be my interview date). Keep in mind that different embassies have different wait times and i think visa class may have something to do with wait time as well. I am in a different visa class to you, so please do not use my case and timeline to compare to yours.

I compared my case to others in different classes and embassies and was disappointed when I didn't get my interview letter based on their timeline.

Maybe you can find someone here who has used your specific embassy (and visa class ) that should give you a better picture.

    Good luck!

  5. My wife ricive a checklist March 3.3.2015 stating she do nt include 2013 Tax return and she need to sign d AOS form.60 days was giving for another review dis make me go crazy..........I hope and pray it review b4 60 days so case can complete, pls anybdy wit a checklist and got review in less dan 60 days?

Hello my friend! I know at the end of last year and earlier this year review would take in average around 55 days BUT I have seen persons go over 6th days lately. This is due to the snow storms that have caused the NVC to be closed almost an extra day every week for the past month (or more).

Try and submit the information as soon as possible, pray and have patience. I had the same check list last year. I got a cc on day 54 or 55.

  6. I finally got an interview date for the 7th April! I can't believe it

now I'm nervous as eve. Good luck to everyone waiting on a cc and interview date.

So I got my interview date from NVC yesterday ,it's April 1st 2015 thank God finally. But I'm still waiting for my daughter's cc, we asked for a expedite of her case so we r praying they grant it. I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel *sigh*

Congrat! Good luck on the expedite.

  7. I called NVC today and I was told that they have scheduled an interview appointment for my wife today for April 9th. So it took them 8 days to set up the appointment. Thank God I don't have to dial that NVC number again and I wish everyone the same.

Wow! Congrats! I'm on day 34 of waiting for a date. I tried the NVC once or twice this week but didn't get through. I could not deal with hearing that no interview has been scheduled yet, we will let you know when one has been given.

I have no idea when a date will be given either, just one big wait and see.

  8. Since you have already applied for your immigrant visa in July 2014, why not just wait for it and come to the US as and immigrant and then marry and stay?

Why complicate things? Do you already have a tourist visa?

Yes, I have a visa. We are just looking at all options at this point. My fiance and I are looking at August to get married but I was just curious about how marriage would affect a case in this category.

I have done research and I know that marriage would void a k1 visa petition.

What is your F4 priority date?

My PD is NOV 2001 So it is current. My case was completed a month ago so I am waiting on an interview date. Like I mentioned above I was curious about the scenario.

  9. Hello everyone, I have been wanting to ask this question for a while now so here goes.

Will marrying a US citizen affect an immigration visa case(f4 visa)? Before the completion of the case? For instance, the non us citizen travels to the US for the purpose of getting married to a us citizen THEN returns home while waiting for the case to wrap up.

Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.

  10. Hello,

I don't think I ever posted here, but I have scanned through once or twice. I'm also in the October bunch, NOA1 on the 31st October. I have been paying it too much attention because I have another visa petition active (different category). That one is close to the interview stage.

Yes, the waiting is difficult. I think disconnecting from VJ every once in a while helps.

  11. Hi NYjones

My pd is current too on ceac website it say my interview is ready to be scheduled by consulate but no letter yet either. I will try contacting nvc on Monday hear what they tell me.

Ok. Hopefully good news awaits you. Goodluck.

I just hate this period of waiting with no indication of when it may happen. I have seen persons waiting from two months up to 11 months for an interview, but these were other categories of visas and at other embassies.

  12. Hello,

Does anyone have any idea (generally) how long it takes for an interview to be scheduled at the Barbados embassy for an F4 (brothers and sister of a US citizen) visa. My case was completed on the 22 January, 2015 and my PD is current (November 2001).

I was hoping for a March interview but I called the NVC and was told March interviews have all been filled.

    Any ideas?

  13. Thanks for ruing my day after I got some good news NYjones j/k. I thought it depends all where the interview is taking place. Some places take more some less or I am just dreaming with my eyes open?

Yes it all depends my friend. Depends on the embassy etc. I have no idea about yours. good lucK. Most get an interview in 2nd on the time. I also think your visa category has something to do with it. That's what I was told anyway.

  14. I just called NVC right now and I was told that I Got a CC today. Scan date 12/18/14. Total of 64 days. I thank everyone for the support and I hope you all who are waiting get a CC very soon!

Congrats! A bit overdue but done nonethelesS. NOW comes the waiting for the interview date. Hopefully you get one in about 2 months.

one month waiting for my interview date.....seems like I may have a few more months to wait.

  15. Just called them right now. It hasn't been reviewed yet. 62 days. Right now they're reviewing cases that went up to 67 days without being reviewed. So I guess I got 5 more days. Bunch of BS.

The weather has made everything slower....as if they weren't slow enough already! I pray and hope that you do not get a checklist

  16. Today is not a good day for my fam and I,as I am writing this I'm crying. I'm hurt beyond words, so hurt, I don't think God listens to my prayers anymore, if he did he won't make us suffer like this. My husband called NVC this mng to find out abt my daughter's case, (mine was completed last mnth) they said they reviewed it on the 5th Feb. And a sheet of paper was missing on the AOS, the sheet that asked if anyone helped u fill out the AOS. No one helped us my husband did it himself. They said we hve to send that sheet and wait another 60 days, Bare in mind that sheet of paper will b blank cause no one helped us, YES 60 days for a blank sheet of paper. There is nothing mre I can do but sit here and cry smfh, I feel like I'm gonna loose my mind. I hve not physically seen my husband in one loooooooooooong year they don't care abt that I guess.

I have tears in my eyes after reading this!? I am so sorry. I know how you feel, everyone here knows how you feel!

I don't know what I can say to make you feel better, I'm sure nothing will help right now. I have been in your position.

cry then cry some more!! But tomorrow the journey continues. Get that info to them ASAP!

I know I will be here with you (in spirit and prayers) while you wait for your cc and you interview dates.

    Keep us updated.

  17. I don't know... I'm at day 55. I keep checking and still nothing. Now I am starting to worry... I know my AOS is fine, and I triple checked my civil docs against the cover sheet, along with having family members triple check everything for me, but that doesn't mean anything because we all know how often NVC loses docs. Panic mode is setting in! Seeing someone with a 12/30 initial scan date get CC a few days ago makes the anxiety even worse. The trend I have noticed, the closer to the 60 days, the higher the probability of getting a check list. Ugh!

Not necessarily true about the checklist.

I'd say buckle in. The weather is making the wait a bit longer plus next Monday is a holiday so they will be closed again. I'm sure everyone at the Embassy is on go slow at the momen. Hopefully you get a cc this week.
