My wife my hope got a reaction from C.ezz in need help (I-134)
She's petitioning for her fiancé so form i-134 is required as it's gonna be k1 visa. Form i864 is for cr1/ir1 visas

You will be the main sponsor regardless of your income, even if you have no income at all you're still required to fill the form as the main sponsor. Since your mom claimed you and your son in her most recent year taxes then you're counted in her household even if you're paying rent, your bills and all your daily life costs. She can still be the joint sponsor if she makes 125% of the poverty guidelines for a household of 4 (your fiance, you, your son and herself) she can count assets such as property or savings if she doesn't make enough for a household of 4. Good luck.

I don't know if it's a must but my advice to you is to get it stamped by the ministry of foreign affairs, it will be much better, they're having several notarial service branches that will do that for you in Cairo and across the country and they charge you only 11 Egyptian pounds per document. Good luck.

My wife my hope reacted to Ayman taha in What are those added characters to the case no ??
I was looking that up yesterday
Good coincidence.
It just means u r the main beneficiary.
In some cases if you have any derivatives like kids or someone applying with u in the same case they would have the same number but with 02 CRO for example while u the main person still get that 01 CRO .
I hope it makes sense now

Totally agree! It's mentioned in the official i864 instructions! Receiving means tested public benefits doesn't disqualify your petitioner. It's going to be better for him however to verify his petitioner mental capacity to get married! Note that consular officers are having absolute power to deny his case or put it on administrative processing indefinitely in case they got skeptical at the interview of his spouse mental health especially that he's FROM MENA COUNTRY

Receiving SSI doesn't disqualify your wife from petitioning for you, you'll get to read that in form i864 instructions when you fill it, she can't use her SSI income to sponsor you and it's good that you're having a joint sponsor just make sure her income meets the 125% guidelines. However, I'm strongly recommending you to contact an immigration attorney ASAP as the USCIS or most importantly the consular team at the embassy will be very harsh to you and they'll demand evidence that your wife is ln a good state of mind to get married. Feel free to message me privately in case you needed any advice. Good luck

My wife my hope reacted to eslamhassan in Best way to mail paperwork to the embassy in Cairo
I suppose that it could be aramex as they do have such agreement or something with embassy and also when I've submitted my documents " packet 3 " I did it with aramex as they do have dedicated section/employees for the American embassy in Cairo.
so you can check with them first...best of luck

My wife my hope got a reaction from Ahmed & Amy in Trump's future immigration policies- speculation MEGATHREAD
To those who are wondering if Egypt is gonna be on the ban list! There is no way it can happen like that! 1st Egypt-US relations are more solid than it was under Obama's administration especially in matters of national security and counter terrorism! 2nd Trump has a very good relation with the Egyptian president Al Sisi, the 1st call Trump received after elections wining was from him, Trump called Al Sisi in December to ask for Egypt's cooperation to postpone a decision at the international security council and so Al Sisi cooperated, Trump called again a few days earlier and arranged for a visit to Al Sisi to te white house this year. So both regimes are having a very good relation, the Egyptian nationals will not be banned totally especially there are tens of thousands of Egyptian chritians who travel to the US every year to visit their relatives there! There's no way they can be banned or having any exceptions if Trump is gonna include Egypt in the ban list as it's unconstitutional to ban some specific race or religion even by a presidential executive order, he's only allowed to ban people from certain nationalities, however the only stage you should worry about is the embassy stage as Trump is planning for what's called extreme vetting and it can be applied to selective applicants based on their religion without exposing this to the media, making it a semi official policy at all US consular missions abroad at MENA countries by giving instructions to the heads of visa section there to put Muslims under administrative processing (the famous black hole) and there's no timeframe for this, we hope that the tight relations between Egypt and te US will make the US embassy in Cairo take it easy on us as they'll have no hard time gathering all the information needed about the applicants from the Egyptian authorities especially in matters of security. Fingers crossed!!!!

My wife my hope got a reaction from sparkles_ in MEGATHREAD- What does a Trump Presidency mean for visas? (merged)
The real issue is the only people who will get affected by trump dump decisions are law abiding people who want nothing but to be with their families, bad guys will always find a way to what they want as they're having unlimited resources and support from their groups, foreign regimes and agencies or even local organizations inside the US. Now trump is punishing those who follow the law, banning entire countries and making it nearly impossible to get visas even from other MENA countries which are out of the ban list. Even non Muslims are subject to extreme vetting! Thanks America

My wife my hope reacted to Ihavequestions in MEGATHREAD- What does a Trump Presidency mean for visas? (merged)
In theory, yes. In practice, it's not likely. The seven countries, with the exception of Iran, are countries in conflict (read: war, civil or other) or safe havens for bad buys - and Egypt most certainly is not either of those. Besides, Egypt is an anti-bad guy partner.

My wife my hope reacted to k1visaapproved in cr1 denied
Makes so much sense.. when i read that statement it stood out to me too! I thought probably because of his vocabulary, but it almost sounds like he is referring to a "pot of gold" when he says usc lol.. well all i would say is this guy seems a little shady lol...

My wife my hope reacted to MrsBurgz in cr1 denied
I completely agree. Who calls their spouse a USC and he used that phrase multiply times.
-
My wife my hope reacted to JFH in cr1 denied
I can't be the only one to find that phrase odd. My husband is my husband. I would never refer to him as "my USC". The fact that he was born and raised in the USA is arbitrary to me. I didn't even know he was American when he first caught my eye. And he would never call me his "British citizen". I'm his wife. We have pet names for each other like most couples do but to strangers I refer to him always as "my husband".I'm trying to figure out the time scale. You broke up with your girlfriend 3 years ago. The CR-1 has already run the full application course so you must have been married at least a year by now because it takes that long for the length of a CR-1. There was a one-year gap between leaving the girlfriend and meeting your wife. So you only knew your wife a year when you filed? How many times did you see each other in that time? Who has custody of the children?

Living there would also allow you to get to know this man. If, God forbid, he's trying to scam you, you'd have a much better chance finding this out if you lived with him.

My wife my hope reacted to Auds in best way to proceed? (edited title)
The visa officers will see this as one of two
1. Egyptian well off paying for his green card to a much older disabled lady
2. Egyptian and family scamming older disabled American Citizen
From my experience of reading 10s if not 100s of cases, the K1 will surely get denied. A spouse application will take much longer even if it eventually comes through, we are talking about 2-3 years (you know a denial first time round then possibly getting accepted).
I do know that culturally men from that culture would never see a long term future with a much older woman who is disabled. I have known the culture for decades now. If your's happens to be the one in 10 million genuine case convincing the visa officers will be next to impossible.

My wife my hope reacted to EM_Vandaveer in For how long my wife has to work before he would be qualified to sponsor me ?
6+ months is what USCIS usually looks for at a job, I'm assuming Consulates are similar.

Gobucks the thing that I don't like about uscis is that they never no nothing they just as lost as we are. It makes no sense it's already more then two weeks since u sent them what they want. If you call all they going to tell u is that they have 60 days to respond some get answers quicker then others. I'm guessing it just depends in who hands it ends up in.
