  1. Got CC on Feb 7, called and confirmed yesterday. But just got a checklist email for my husband's police certificate...?

    I hope it's a false checklist.

    im impressed

got case number yesterday and today AOS fees are ready....

hope nvc keeps rockin' at this pace!!!

Excellent! That's really fast. You see, you DON'T have bad luck I don't know what Soloenta was talking about

Actually it took them a month to assign a case number for me, then another month to send me the welcome email after that, and another week after that for the AOS fees. I'm glad your case is moving faster.

  3. NVC lost my police certificate ?

    what should i do guys?

can i request supervisor to give me a case complete saying that i will take it embassy while interview?

    or 2.request for expedite

or send them photocopy of police certificate ? ( which i dont wanna do. no more 60 days. already waited 83 days of last scan date.

    please give me suggestion guyss

    thanks

Sorry they lost your police certificate. Was it an original?

I would call and ask to talk to a supervisor, and make the same requests you listed in order. I think you should have a strong case because you waited 83 days, not 60, so they should do something to help you in return (CC or expedite). Any agency that respects itself will do this on its own, without being asked to.

Ask the supervisor if an expedite is a faster option for you, but the embassy has to approve your expedite request.

This should not have been an issue at all.

Remember, THEY should fix their mistake for making you wait 83 days, they're not doing you a favor.

  4. I think you're referring to me? Yes, I did take a long time with the DS-260 not realizing it needed to be done so far in advance. I thought as long as it's submitted before the IV package was reviewed it'd be ok, they'd just review it all at the same time. I know, not too smart looking back.

However, they did review my IV package on its own right on the 60 day mark. I did get a checklist for it saying I need to submit my 260 even though technically it was submitted.

I spoke to a really nice agent and he said everything is reviewed but the 260 which takes between 30-60 days to review. Once it's reviewed I'll be CC. He also said I'd have to make a huge mistake on the 260 for it not to be cleared since you can make changes at the Embassy if need be.

Yes I was referring to you :) Thanks for clarifying. I hope you get a CC way before 30 days.

  5. The one time I called to ask about my scan date, the lady said "we go by the received date" from the email.

I've seen someone from Spain here who sent his AOS/IV packages, and really took his time to do the 260 list, from what I recall his docs were reviewed within 60 days but he got a checklist because the 260 was not updated in the system when the packages were reviewed.

After spending yesterday on the one waiting for NVC only to find out the phone system is on and no one is there, I called again this morning. I talked to a human and she stated that my case has not been touched yet, but they are currently processing Dec. 10th scan dates or the DS260 date (whichever is last). Was unable to tell me how many days from the 60 that they were behind due to the snow. I shall call again tomorrow!

On a side note, it makes me feel better to know that it might not be a checklist, it just hasn't been processed... trying not to lose hope, but my mind can quickly go crazy thinking of scenarios, none of them being good!

  6. I don't know... I'm at day 55. I keep checking and still nothing. Now I am starting to worry... I know my AOS is fine, and I triple checked my civil docs against the cover sheet, along with having family members triple check everything for me, but that doesn't mean anything because we all know how often NVC loses docs. Panic mode is setting in! Seeing someone with a 12/30 initial scan date get CC a few days ago makes the anxiety even worse. The trend I have noticed, the closer to the 60 days, the higher the probability of getting a check list. Ugh!

Most of the approvals on last Friday were 12/11 scan date, so you still have 5/6 days to go. If AOS is fine then no need to worry, because it seems that NVC is picky with AOS package. Hang in there, you're almost done.

  7. I just sent in my AOS and IV packets. I am a little concern about getting a checklist for the AOS. I sent in my tax transcript for 2013, 2012 2011, which I am sure are ok . What concerns me is the current income I started a new job back in September and recently got a raise which is shown on my latest paystub however the other paystubs before the raise shows what I was making per hour. I hope they do not overlook the one pay stub and see the income I was making and think I calculated more income then I should of. I calculated what I am making now x 40 hours per week x 52 weeks to get my current annual income. I try to get an employment letter, but my company told me that they do not provide employment verification letter, but will try to help later if the NVC sends me a request for one

I don't think that's an issue, but I'm no expert. I would not be worried if I were you.

  8. That's actually a very good question.

I was playing with Turbo Tax online, it says if I file MFJ I will get 12,000 tax return, and if I file MFS I get 6,000 tax return. It makes more sense to file MFJ but as you said there's no SSN or Tax ID number, so from what I understand, there are two options: file MFS and later on amend, or somehow get a Tax ID number and file MFJ. I went ahead and looked into getting a Tax ID number for my wife, it looks like there's a form called W-7 from IRS that needs to be completed, that's as far as I have gotten in my research. I'm about to search for tax accountants who can help me with this, because I'm kind of stuck right now.

I'll let you know if I find out anything new.

  9. Okay I need some help! I'm confused! I've read of others saying something about getting an AOS cover sheet and an IV cover sheet to send in their documents and I am wondering where did people get these? My AOS fee now shows paid but I did not receive a special sheet or anything. I did receive a "Document Cover Sheet" in my welcome email that is to go on top of the combined package when I send it in. Is this new? Am I missing something?

You should have received an email as soon as you paid, in that email there is an attachment with the AOS cover sheet.

  10. Hello, I actually think it was bad luck to get the same person I never did or it's the weather less people there to answer the phones. I would bet they must have a lot of people working there since so much paper work arrives daily. Praying you never get the same person twice. :D

LOL don't scare her Soloenta  , she's already had more than her fair share of bad luck with USCIS.

  11. My checking is for police report. I have to send from two different countries and for one of them it was the wrong one. When I spoke to a supervisor at NVC, she said she would accept the one I sent as a copy and it was my responsibility to send the right one to the interview (i go the right one but never sent it NVC , big mistake to trust them). So, I got a checklist for it. I wanted to speak to the supervisor but is not the one i had spoken to. This one was so rude and said he could not help. My problem now is contacting the right person. It was a woman, not as rude as this man i spoke with. I don't know what to do. I will call again to see if can speak to a different person. any suggesting anyone?? does anyone know of supervisor i can ask for. I so strongly dislike NVC!!!! :ranting:

Checklist first, ask later, that seems to be their policy.

I would call them back at a different time. One time I called early in the morning, and I spoke to a nice female supervisor, she was very helpful and explained to me the whole NVC process, although I didn't ask for that. So I suggest you call early in the morning.

I really hope you can get it forwarded to the embassy.
