  1. where do I see the 3 N/A everyone is talking about here? I'm not sure which page it's on. thanks in advance! :D

    1- Go to:

    https://ceac.state.gov/ceac/

    2- Click

DS-260, Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application

    3- Enter your case information

4- Count the number of N/A's you see. If you see 3 total N/A's (2 for the AOS table and 1 for the Applicant information table), then you have CC, the "PAID" under "Affidavit of support fee" will change to N/A's if you have CC.

If you don't see 3 N/A's, you can still call NVC and ask about the status of your case. I called today and complained to them.

  2. Ugh I should have known. So many "lost" documents I've read about on these message boards :(

They do this all the time, and they used to lose originals!

I would ask to speak to a supervisor, and ask the supervisor about a supervisor review, sorry I'm not the best to give advice, but I would speak to a supervisor.

If anyone else has any advice, please let us know.

Best of luck to you, please post back after you call.

  3. If you look at the spreadsheet you can see that CCs beat Checklists somewhere between 2:1 to 3:1

The median time for a case to be reviewed is 63 days which means your file should be reviewed on Tuesday (yup next week).

    Good luck.

Ariani I like how you're all about statistics now

I think this NVC experience is not bad after all. Thanks NVC for keeping us stuck 60 days in this mess!!! Now we know statistics :lol

  4. I'm getting anxious because they scanned our IV/AOS package 12/01/15 and today is 12/03/15... I see people with scan dates of 3 days later getting approved.. why do they give packages priority dates if they don't do them in that order? :(

I know the feeling, I'm the same scan date. Yes it is frustrating that they give these priority dates and they don't follow them, but I think we're stuck in a slow queue. I would be happy if it takes 70 days with no checklist.

Hopefully good news will come tomorrow. Good luck!

  5. Called NVC just for fun. Funniest conversation I've had in a while.

Me: Any news on an interview date yet?

NVC Rep: Nope, not yet. Sorry we're still waiting to schedule you.

Me: Okay, thanks. Oh, any chance you can tell me if they have completed scheduling the April interviews for Cairo yet?

NVC Rep: Sorry, I don't have that information. I can tell you however, we like to give people enough time to prepare for their interview so we try to give people at least 4 weeks notice. With that being said, don't expect an April interview because April is only a couple of weeks away and that wouldn't allow you enough time to prepare.

Me: Yes, you are correct, April 1st is only a couple of weeks away, but April 9th just so happens to be 4 weeks away, which would mean there is still plenty of time to schedule an April interview.

NVC Rep: Uhhhhhh... Well... We want to be sure to give people as much time as possible, 4 weeks is just the minimum, but we prefer to give more as courtesy to the beneficiary to prepare.

Me: Hahahahahahahaha! Uh... Okay... I don't know how forcing a husband and wife to be apart longer is courteous.

NVC Rep: (A moment of silence)

Me: Hello? Are you still there?

NVC Rep: Umm... Mam, it's to allow adequate time to complete the medical and such.

Me: Hahahaha!!! If my husband found out this moment his interview was tomorrow, he'd go to the doctors home, knock on his door to wake him up, and wave a little money in front of his face. He'd have his medical results in his hand and be on his way to Cairo within the hour. LMAO!

NVC Rep: Mam, is there anything else I can help you with?

Me: Hahahahaha! No. Thanks for the laugh though, I really needed it.

    NCV Rep: (Click)

Wow! I wonder where they get their answers? Lol!

lol nice! That's how everyone should talk to NVC :)

  6. Congrats to all CC frds (F)

Glad most of VJ's are getting CC within 60days..Someone got CC on 35thday :jest: ..Hope NVC is speeding up the process..

Vb4 U r CC is on the way!!! Good Luck :)

Thanks! You're is around the corner too, they seem to be much faster.

I'm gloomily expecting a checklist, at this rate. I'm at day 59 and they're telling me 'call back next week' and getting sarcastic with me when I point out that I know people with the 15th as a scan date who have CC.

    I don't think it means it's a CC.

In your case, I think there's something not so smooth about EP (electronic processing), I think that's why.

When I called, the lady told me the same thing about being saturated and they're working on speeding up, and she said give us at least another week.

  7. Select only few , just enough to show them that you are constantly communicating just in case they'll ask. Select some call logs too , better to bring the latest but don't exceed like more than 10pages as I'm pretty sure they won't be reading it the whole interview. They will scrutinize you more than reading those chat logs, but I'm not discouraging you to bring some coz they might ask for it.

Thank you so much! That's what I will do, it makes sense, I don't want to show them a 1000 page novel lol.

how? usually best done with the civil docs submission packet into NVC.

why? gives the Vice-Consuls about 20 days prior to interview day to actually read this stuff.

Interview day hand-over, IMO, is too late, as the Vice-Consul has maybe 5 to 10 minutes to grant/deny a visa that day, no time to read your pile.

Thanks for the info, well it's too late for me to do that :\
