  1. Uuuuugh, I thought EP was supposed to be FASTER. I sent in IV and AOS packets two weeks ago via EP. STILL no scan date and the reps keep saying 'wait a week, wait a week' no matter how long it's been--they said this after one week and two weeks. If my email didn't get through for some reason, then I've lost two weeks already. If my email DID get through and they're just taking forever, then sending it in would set me back.

I thought NVC was supposed to be the FAST stage!

I thought so too, now looking back I appreciate the USCIS stage much more. I had an RFE and it took 2 weeks to review it and send me the approval. NVC takes 2 months to review anything, it's ridiculous.

NVC is a nightmare. I would be so happy to quit this whole process but I have no other choices.

  2. Congratulations to all of you who received some news of any kind!!

I'm still waiting on my approval. It has been 10 months already. Priority date 17 March. I am worried but I guess life goes on anyway.

Anybody else waiting on approval still since March?

Hey every one my pd is 3/4/14 an haven't heard either im absolutely devastated that we haven't.. We tried calling and emailing and getting a service request but all have the same answers. I'm hoping and praying we hear something soon.. It's nearly a year and no news ???

Complain to your senators! It's not fair you're still waiting 10+ months for NOA2!

I think everyone from March on this thread was approved. What does your status say on USCIS website?

Did you call them? They can get really careless if you don't keep calling.

  4. So screwed up.. spouse process shouldn't take more than couple months from A to Z

I think it should be determined by how long it takes to do background checks. No need for 2 government agencies to be involved (USCIS + NVC).

It takes 2 months to send docs from USCIS to NVC and get a case number, a complete waste of time with nothing getting done.

One of the two should get eliminated (USCIS or NVC).

  5. Hey!

I have finally completed everything NVC asked me,

Now I have a question #1 - how do you find out when they scanned doc pack in the system? Does it appear anywhere in CEAC or do they send you an email?

I have sent papers last week and envelope was delivered this Tuesday 01/20, how long does it take them to scan papers?

Question #2 When do they send an email stating that you have to wait 60 days while they review everything?

My NVC doc/form/fee submitting went fast. Case # assigned 01/09, DS-261 completed 01/09, AOS invoiced and paid 01/13, called 01/16 and was told to send already all paperwork (even before IV fee paid), sent same day. IV invoice on 01/20, updated to paid 01/21, DS-260 completed 01/22. It took me 13 days to do everything from case number assignment date - by my standards NVC works quite fast, after mediocre USCIS service.

I will update my timeline later, when I will find out how :-)

Just tell me plz how fast they scan docs and when after that they send email with 60 day wait time, I want to start counting already :-)

1- It won't appear on ceac, they'll send an email that they have received "your documents" from you

2- In my case, they received it on the 12th, and they sent me an email on the 15th stating that they received my docs on the 12th, and I should wait at least 60 days

  6. Hi all. After reviewing all the documents I sent yesterday to NVC I realized I made a silly mistake on I-864EZ and put the wrong DOB for my husband (horrible wife I know :crying: ). I know I can resend this before I get a checklist, but do I just send in the I-864EZ and maybe a cover letter explaining?

I know some others have caught their mistakes early. Advice please? Thanks in advance!

Sorry you made that mistake, but better to catch it sooner than later

My personal opinion, because I'm paranoid, I would resend the whole AOS package if it's not too hard, don't forget the AOS cover letter, and an additional cover later explaining that the new package should be reviewed.

Maybe someone else has a better opinion.

  7. Hello again all!

I just had my medical here in Toronto today! I went to Dr. Zatzman in Vaughan, Ontario. He was very friendly and the checkup was surpisingly quick and easy. He just asked a few questions, then listened to my heart and lungs with the stethascope, then took my height and weight, then had me read a line from an eye exam chart. After that I went downstairs and got my chest xray and blood work done. I hope my interview will be as easy as this was! I'm actually a September 2013 filer and was caught right in the middle of the major backlog they had, then we made some mistakes on some forms we had to redo so that delayed as well. Interview is finally on February 3rd! Got my train ride booked from Toronto to Montreal and 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express which is just a 4 minute walk from the Consulate!

Congrats! No matter how many mistakes you make, it should not take that long for a visa, but let's stay "positive." Good luck with the rest of the process.

  8. Our case status is still "received". Frustrating, since CSC is now approving December cases... I spoke with my husband about calling USCIS but he's refusing to call (and told me not to either) because he's worried that it would mess our case up altogether. Can't blame him for thinking like this though, he's had his fair share of errors and miscommunication with his US bank and other institutions while living here now... But seriously, It would be interesting to know what has happened to our case.

He should at least call and find out if you're out of the normal processing time, if so then he should submit a service request. I've submitted a SR and a week later they sent me RFE, so that might hlep. Good luck to you guys!

  9. woow you are amazing Saylin Thank You :) Thank You :) Thank You :) Thank You :) Thank You :) Thank You :)

I would also check with the Yemeni embassy in Saudi Arabia, if they can help with the police clearance.

I once called NVC about a similar question (police clearance from Syria), and they said check with the embassy Syrian embassy in Riyadh.

If nothing works, write a letter when you submit your documents to NVC, explaining to them that you couldn't obtain the police clearance.

  10. Not much I can do. I'll give them a few more days and if in seven days it hasn't gotten invoiced, I'm going to call and ask for a supervisor. Because this is RIDICULOUS. I know I don't have it the worst. I know it's not as bad as it could be, but it's still really annoying. I'm SO CLOSE to the end and I just want to MOVE already.

I agree, it's still not at the 60-day waiting stage yet and these delays are happening. I swear if I could I would pick another country to live in and forget this whole process.

  11. It's taking soooo looooong for the IV fee to be released--I did the AOS fee and the first form weeks ago. Called NVC and they said it's going to be released 'very soon' and said it was 'moving forward' and when I said 'Does that mean today, or..." they were like "Nah, give it seven to ten days and then call us if you still don't have it."

It's SO FRUSTRATING when I already know that it's going take sixty days for anything to be processed after last scan date and 45 days before interview.

And I have NOTHING on those who will then have a year's AP!

What are you going to do about it?

Almost 28 days since I got a case number and completed the 261 online, still didn't get emails from NVC.

I'm planning to call them and speak to a supervisor.

  12. Did you get your case number by calling NVC? Did you make sure they had your email on file? You can do that by calling. If they do have it, the welcome email might just be delayed - I think that's happening quite a bit lately. You should get it in about a week or two. To answer your question though, yes, pay the fees. I don't think you're going to be able to pay the IV fee though. It might say Pay Now but it won't let you select it most likely because your DS-261 needs to be reviewed first.

Hi S. & A., Thanks for your answer.

Yes I got my case number by calling NVC, and they had my correct email on file.

Actually, I clicked on the AOS fees, and I wasn't able to pay them, although it shows "Pay Now".

I think you're right, the 261 needs to be reviewed first, thanks for your explanation!

  13. Only a couple of days ago, I got an NVC case number. I did not receive any email or instructions from NVC. Today when I checked NVC's website, it says "Pay Now" for both AOS and IV fees. I was also able to fill out the 261. So do I go ahead click on the AOS and IV and pay them now?

I don't want to screw up, I'm already worried I filled out the 261 without getting instructions from NVC :(

  14. Hey guys just an update: someone got denied because the us citizen birth certificate did not have her parents name (it was a requested copy, a newer version) just an fyi :)

Was this at the embassy? Is the applicant required to submit birth certificate? I find it strange, especially if he's already US citizen. Did you submit a birth certificate?

I'm worried because I don't have an original birth certificate :\

  15. My wife (US citizen) received notification that on October 16th our K-3 was approved and sent to the NVC/State Department for processing. In it they stated that if she had not heard within 30 days she should contact them. She has emailed to ascertain status. Just wondering if anyone knows how long to hear from NVC/State Department about the next steps. We are conscious that it is coming up to Thanksgiving then Christmas, so do things slow down at this time of year? or is 4/5 weeks before Christmas plenty of time to hear from the NVC/State Department?

Anyone with first hand experience, could you shed some light?

    Thanks in advance

Call NVC right now! You got approved on EXACTLY the same date my I129F got approved, and today I got a case number. You might be lucky and find out that they have sent it to the embassy.

I130 takes 42 days to assign a case number.
