TheCaptain got a reaction from Penguin_ie in Medical- What they check from blood and urine samples
The bloods are usually for things like communicable diseases such as:-
Ebola Enterovirus D68 Flu Hantavirus HIV/AIDS Measles MRSA Pertussis Rabies Sexually Transmitted Disease Tuberculosis West Nile Virus but the blood work can also check for other things include illicit drugs.
A urine test can check for many different conditions. This includes minor urinary tract infections to diabetes and other more serious problems. For example, 1 part of the test is designed to measure the specific gravity of urine. The higher the gravity, the more concentrated the urine is. Urine is usually darker (more concentrated) in the morning. This is because your body's been storing wastes all night. If your urine appears concentrated (dark) during the day, it means you probably need to drink more fluids. If you don't drink enough fluids, it makes it hard for your body to flush wastes.

Please make sure you cancel the return portion of the trip.
There are many a horror story on here of people who have not canceled and ran into trouble when the airlines marks the traveller as having left the country....
Causes a bit of a problem when your not supposed to leave until you adjust or get AP....

TheCaptain got a reaction from sailorgal in HELP!! Tourist visa for family to attend wedding?
Each of them will pay an application fee of US$165 and each of them will be interviewed and assessed on their own merits. There is nothing you or anyone else can do to increase their chances of receiving the visa. They will need to show SIGNIFICANT ties to India. This would include but not be limited to letters from employers stating how long they have worked there and what they do, property documentation (if they own a house), schooling enrollment documentation for the child.
    Good luck with this.
The alternative is for you and your new family to go to India and have something there.

I could not care whether the law lets them adjust or not. If they want to use the system like that then good on them. This is my opinion. I followed the system and waited like everyone else. Other countries do not have the luxury of the VWP, so people like me are extremely thankful to have the VWP and do not abuse such a privilege. People who abuse the VWP to utilize it for something for which it was NEVER intended gives the impression that it's a way to circumvent the requirements, and promoting additional abuse!

As someone else who has come from Australia I think if you have a current pending K1 application, I believe it would be taking advantage of the luxuries offered to us by the US to use the VWP as a means to bypass the application process and speed up the adjust process.
By all means you can do this and it would be ok, but don't expect people to be happy or OK with your choice.

TheCaptain got a reaction from VeeNDee in K1 VISA Approved! How to import financed vehicle...?
Yes you will need to speak with TD to confirm whether or not they require you to discharge the loan prior to entering into the country. You could import the vehicle into the US as long as you comply with the import restrictions you specified (emissions etc).
The primary concern would still be TD Auto Finance. Your fiances' insurance company will probably not cover the vehicle and allow you as an additional driver due to the lien and the title being "owned" by a Canadian company. Meaning the US insurance company may not be able to take possession of the Vehicle in the case of a claim.
You will need to check the details with TD. There may be restrictions in your contract relating to removing the vehicle from the country. There may also be issues with registration and tags on the vehicle as in most states you are "supposed" to transfer the registration to your state of residency within 90 days of becoming a resident of that state. This would in your case be 90 days from when you get your Drivers License.
The financial treaty relates to the sharing of financial and tax information between the US and Canada. The official definition is:-
"An Agreement Between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Canada to Improve International Tax Compliance through Enhanced Exchange of Information under the Convention Between the United States of America and Canada with Respect to Taxes on Income and on Capital"
Basically they share information regarding your finances...... this may also relate to your credit...... E.g.... Don't pay in Canada and default, the US may be able to see that information when assessing your ability to obtain credit.
Investigate with TD and question, question, question everything. As I said previously make sure you get everything in writing!. Contact your fiances' insurance company prior to the move and if they will insure then get that in writing too. The last thing you want is to bring it all the way over and get into a wreck only to find the insurance will not cover you and you still owe on the loan in Canada.

It simply means that the letter has left the sorting facility in Dallas, Texas and is on its way. I would expect there to be updates either tonight or tomorrow. You should expect it to be delivered tomorrow. USPS is never any good at keeping timely updates on their website.
    Nothing to be worried about.

HSBC does have facilities which you are looking for and is available in both countries. The catch is that you are required to present yourself in person to open a HSBC account in the USA.
You will have two separate HSBC accounts and cards but will be able to transfer between the banks with very minimal fees.
Every account and international transaction will have some kind of fee's attached to it. This is due to exchange rates, paying intermediate banks, clearing houses and other fees which are incurred at each end of the transaction.
Most people do a single transfer of funds and eat the fees associated with the transfer. Find the best UK funds transfer company and go with them.
    Good luck with your search.

I would not worry about this at all. Usually you only have to pay import tax on items which are sealed and could possibly be re-sold in the UK market.
There is no way for them to know what you took out of the country so how could they possibly know what you are bringing back in unless you bring it back sealed in a box with receipts etc.
A bit of a myth if you ask me.

Oh my, can I have some of the cash from your back pocket while your at it.
Helping this woman is a very noble cause and it's understandable that you feel that you have an emotional attachment, but what happens when she gives birth. Does she have insurance? Does she have any financial backing to help her pay? How long does she stay with you after the child is born? Who pays for the child's essentials? How long is until she "gets on her feet"?
She is not going to be able to work for AT LEAST 3 or 4 years due to the need to care for the child. So that begins the next set of questions....
Who looks after the child? Who clothes the child? Who feeds the child?
How do you decide when she is "on her feet"?
The whole time this is going on she is quite happily taking your money, using your electricity, living the lifestyle she wants.
This is the same woman who pushed for DIVORCE against you, listened to her phillipino friends and wanted to "get rich" from you and if she had succeeded would have put you on the street without a care in the world, living the high life on your dime. I don't think that she would have the same compassion you are showing her.
Might sound harsh but I'm just putting things in perspective.
