  1. Hey, kerran, Collie, and other members,

    A last minute thought.... :clock:

In my case, my income on AOS is enough for 4, but my parents will go together for their interview. This will make my family of 5 ( myself, spouse, son, 2 immigrants) Now, NVC has been treating both cases as two separate individuals, two files, two AOS etc....and I haven't received checklist for co sponsor.

So what do you think about this? Also, for 5 ppl I am only 1500 away, plus I have more than enough bank balance to makeup for that gap.....I feel like I am overthinking...but ....any thoughts on this.

  2. I'm really worried about my AOS package. My husband still hasn't filed his 2013 taxes so it will be a few weeks until he can get IRS tax transcripts online. I know the deadline to file taxes is this coming Tuesday so it's not like we can make the 2012 return the latest. His employment letter is also not what I was expecting. It just states when he started there and what his position is, which is different from what he wrote on the i-864 form. It doesn't mention is income amount at all.

His mom is our joint sponsor and has only given me her employment letter and IRS 'wage and income' transcripts which I believe is the wrong one. I feel so awkward correcting her and getting the right transcripts. The way my husband is treating this is making me so upset. Every time I ask him about the documents he gets mad that I'm nagging him about it. I don't know what to do at this point. I know we will get a checklist for something because I can't control and direct what they give to me. I'm totally freaking out about this and having a 'control freak' moment. Ugh :'(

Can you not forward him AOS instructions from Saylin's Wiki or NVC website? Let him know that its not you, its NVC requirement. Its just a phase, it will pass. Don't worry :) Also, tell you MIL that you just read about a checklist for submitting wrong IRS transcripts. Take the blame on yourself and say something like " sorry about this but, I gave you the wrong info about transcript, we actually need this one......can you please blah..blah..blah...

Hope all this makes sense....because I am myself kind of stressed right now.

Praying for you, me, and everyone waiting. TC

  3. Non-issue. The consulate it is going to sees that birth certificate all the time. NVC doesn't approve anything, just checks correct and completed.

Trust me people, you'd rather have issues with the NVC and their 30 business days than with your consulate or embassy where a correction could take MONTHS!

So if NVC says case complete, the consulate will most probably not ask for any more papers. In my case, my income on AOS is enough for 4, but my parents will go together for their interview. This will make my family of 5 ( myself, spouse, son, 2 immigrants) Now, NVC has been treating both cases as individuals, and I haven't received checklist for co sponsor, so what do you think about this? Also, for 5 ppl I am only 1500 away, plus I have bank balance to makeup for that gap.....I feel like I am overthinking...but ....any thoughts on this.

  4. Hi Guys,

I am trying to download i864 form online so i can response to my checklist , previously each page of the form had bar cod with it but now there is no bar code. will that be a problem? and my uncle who is the joint sponsor 2013 income was 39000 and he has a wife with no dependent will his income is enough to be a sponsor because on checklist it says i864 you submit does not match the criteria ,

any help on this will really helpfull

Can you please copy paste the exact words on your checklist? Also, if you are only two ppl u& wife, I think your income should be around 19,662. If you meet this you don't need a co-sponsor. Following is the link for I 864.

    http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864.pdf

  5. Hmm, I'd say in your case, going through the UK (low fraud country), just keep it in your folder and only hand it over if they bring up the filing status.

    Hey Saylin,

How is your new job going? Is the new place treating you good ?

Anyway, maybe I am overthing this, but I have a question about AOS :/

Question: on AOS my income is met for a family of 4 (me, spouse, son, and mom or dad--two who are immigration )

I am sponsoring both of my parents, differnt cases, differnt files.....but they will go for their interview togeather

Now, will the CO look at my income for 5 ppl or 4?

  6. Was able to talk to a gentleman from NVC after being on hold for about 15 minutes. AOS has been approved. The civil documents (IV package) has been received (touched). However, they have not reviewed it yet. He said I am done submitting everything. Just sit tight and give them 20 ~ 30 days to review the IV package... No really... :) :) I am calling them tomorrow...

I called yesterday. They told me the same thing...however, mine is reverse IV approved & 260 approved, AOS checklist under review  I am planning to call again on Friday. I am kind of loosing hope for case complete on Friday...why do they keep on saying 30 days  for heaven's sake its one paper...

  7. Just got off the phone with NVC. Case Complete as of yesterday. OH, thank God.... I have seen some other Montreal people on here say they have a interview scheduled for May 21. Does anyone know if they usually do all interviews on the same day??? Is there a good chance we will be scheduled for this day as well??

Congrats !!!! Didn't you have a timeline in your signature? I though you did , Anyway can you share the dates of packets recieved by NVC ?

  8. I think so too. This is how it reads...

    ______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The National Visa Center received your DS-260 form. We are waiting for the traveling applicant’s

supporting civil documents to be submitted to the NVC. Your online Immigrant Visa Application will be

reviewed upon receipt of your supporting documentation.

To view which documents the applicant must submit to the NVC, please go to our website

    immigrantvisas.state.gov.

Well the supporting civil documents are delivered (3/31) and waiting in thier mailroom. So someone at NVC needs to go in and open the envelope.

Yup, exactly the same. Did you call NVC yet? I am planning to call on Thursday or Friday. I called yesterday and the only thing under review is checklisted AOS (ie I 864) Let me know if you hear something, I will keep you updated aawell :)

  9. Hello VJ Members,

My wife's case is currently at NVC. 2 weeks ago I sent them the IV package and had submitted the DS-260 as well. Got a checklist today in the email concerning the IV package and this is what is says:

    ______3 - BIRTH CERTIFICATE:___________

The document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the appropriate government authority. The document must be an original, or a certified copy of the original, bearing the original seal or stamp from the issuing authority.

    ______5 - MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE:_______

The document you submitted is not an original or certified copy of an original issued by the appropriate government authority. The document must be an original, or a certified copy of the original, bearing the original seal or stamp from the issuing authority.

They are definitely asking for original copies. At NVC you have to send original copies.

  10. Called and spoke to Cranky Pants Agent Brady (a woman, btw) who very exasperatedly told me that they needed 30 days to review my civil documents, so I shouldn't call back until the second week in May. (hahaha, no.) She also told me that they can't see the DS260 or when it was filled out, but they also need 30 days to review that. And that I should just wait until they contact me to find out what's going on with my case. Ok, whatever, talk to you tomorrow. :P

I just talked with Guss or Russ...he was very nice, still gave me 30 days blah..blah...However, immediately after I finished with him, I received an email about resubmitting my checklist. I already did it, so what does it mean? does it mean that they just haven't looked at it yet? I know they logged it in on March 31st. Should I call them again? :o

  11. Please read the very first post in this forum. You should submit your info in the very user-friendly form that Ms. Saylin has provided just for this purpose. This facilitates your information to go into the spreadsheet.

You could also, include some of this info in your signature (you will find it in your profile).

bkgosh, our timelines are pretty similar. Hoping for case complete by this week :clock: So ready to get done with this process  I am loosing my patience now. :( Lets hope for the best this week

  12. Hi Guys,

My father-in-law is a joint sponser for me. So he has filled 864A, now as he has my mother-in-law also in household. Does my mother-in-law also needs to fill 864A? also does she need to submit her paystubs or job letter as well?

My father-in-law is already going to submit job letter and pay stubs.

    Thanks

Does your falther-in- law live with you? If not he is not your household member, he fills out I864 and his wife I 846A. only household members ie ppl with same address fills out I 864A.
