  1. thanks to uscis for ruinimg my marriage

I know saying "have patience" is not going to make sense. However, I am 100% sure that your relationship is not as weak as some worthless/useless/inhumane entity like USCIS can ruin it.

Its has been a long time since I went through CR 1 process, but believe me this is just a phase. It is hard, but it will pass.

Look at it this way, when I went through this process, my husband and I suffered in isolation, you at least have VJ family. Your time is nearyes.gif Good Luck.

  2. Happy New Year everyone, so after a month and 3 days

    Post Decision Activity

On December 23, 2013, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

I didn't sign up for electronic response from USCIS. However, the approval letter itself says that USCIS send my original petition to NVC. Should I believe USCIS sad.png

  3. my wife I-130 was approved 12/9 from the CSC office, i still didnt hear anything yet, or got anything in the mail.

anybody got approved and didnt hear anything from NVC?

Mine was approved on 12/10 and haven't heard anything either. However, this is normal. NVC says to wait atleast 8 weeks before expecting anything.ClockWatch2.gif

  4. Hi guys...I am confused. I was thinking that when my MIL's papers are approved and go to NVC, then they go to the embassy, she takes all her documents (birth certificate, passport, police certificate) with her to the interview. However, I have been reading some on here and it is seeming like maybe these documents need to be sent to NVC? My husband came on a K-3, so that is how his papers were done....but I am thinking maybe the way the IR works is different...I hope this makes sense.

    Hey,

I had the same question a few days ago. According to my research and VJ family, we have to send all the original or certified civil documents, including police clearance, to NVC with IV package.

  5. So once January 1st comes they will no longer accept 2013 tax return as the current one? Am I right?

Which means I will have to wait until after I get my tax return for 2013 to send them the most current paperwork. UGH!!!!!!!

Well, the latest taxes one can file is on February 3rd ( as far as I know). So if you send your paperwork in January, can you not send the additional tax papers later on? Also, as far as I know, the beneficiary can take the latest papers at the interview.

  6. Welcome Peace500!!

Thank you. Even though I received my case # they're still not invoiced so I can't pay yet.

If you are working and you meet the poverty guideline then you do not need a joint sponsor. If you're unemployed or make less than the poverty guideline amount then you would need a joint sponsor (your husband or someone else).

So even if you file taxes jointly you don't need a co-sponsor unless you are unemployed or doesn't meet the poverty guideline.

OMG, I posted for the first time and I am so overwhelmed that I received so many replies. Thank you VJ family. Now the main challenge I have is make my parents get a certified copy of all the civil documents or just mail me all the originals and I can mail it to NVC.

  7. Do you mean I-864? There is no I-184...

And just because you file taxes jointly doesn't mean BOTH of you have to be sponsors. It could just be you if you wish. If you both want to be sponsors though, you'll fill out the I-864 and your spouse will fill out an I-864A.

Yes I 864, sorry. Thanks for replying smile.png

I will have to include my husband b/c my income is not enough, and I just started working fulltime this year.

  8. Thanks mrsartis!! Hopefully you'll hear something soon.

    Hello,

Been stocking you guys for a while, and would love to join the group. I am glad you received your NVC #, kerran :) I am still waiting..... I am confused about AOS b/c my husband and I file joint taxes, but I am the primary petioner for my parents. So will he be considered as a co-sponsor or what ?

  9. she haven't had her interview yet. i am in the process of submitting the AOS and Visa application alongside the documents.

then once everything has been reviewed, then comes the Medical, and Interview comes last.

She requested three copies of the original civil documents from the National Statistics Office. One set was sent to me. Two sets are in her possession. So she could bring one to her interiew and in case NVC loses what i sent them, my mom has one set left as back up.

Where are you at in your journey anyway??

Are you just about to submit an i-130?

    Thank you.

  10. peace500,

I had my mom send me the original documents through LBC. She sent it on Monday (Philippine time) then I got it Wednesday morning (Cali time).

DHL delivered the envelope to me.

It is safer to send through couriers like LBC or even FEDEX (a lil more expensive through them) because you can track it. I would not recommend sending it through the Philippine Post Office.

My mom paid Php1200.00 for the docs. I think its a decent amount to spend knowing how important those documents are.

    HTH.

    Good luck on your journey.

So your consulate gave her the docs back after the interview?
