VJ, the only place where weekends are not welcomed and people (in spite of whatever the bank balance) are eager to pay bills. No normal person can understand these joys. So thankful for this crazy, impatience, but wonderful group.

Quick question guys,
If I get my father to sponsor me for my Affidavit of Support, and he lives in the same household, (in fact, he claims me as a dependent in taxes because I'm a student and don't work) should I fill out the I-864 put 0 for income and then should my father file the I-864A or I-864?
I'm assuming it's the I-864A but wanted to get a 2nd opinion
You may want to check with NVC b/c household member is always I 864A

Interview scheduling started today so maybe with a case complete by Friday it would be possible. I don't think it's likely, but there's some fraction of a percent of chance A June interview is a far safer bet.
Sorry to say but with a checklist response that got there today, it will be at least 7-10 days for review and acceptance. Last month sixth of the month was the cutoff for case completes getting an interview for that month's cycle.
Well, I should be fine with June as well. Thanks anyway

Another spreadsheet nerd, awesome! I say that with highest esteem. I'm obsessed with my filters. I noticed that gap as well; tons of IV submissions right after ours, but very few just slightly before. Maybe that's a good thing and it accurately reflects a global lag in submissions, so NVC will skip ahead to our dates I can dream.
Oh wow!
I do the exact same thing! I download it as an excel sheet and track it for timelines close to ours. I have it color-coded, sorted and excluding certain entries; i have been able to predict the next case completes fairly accurately. I actually take notes on members who don't have an entry and track it on my private version. I know I am sick.. LOL
There is unfortunately a little gap from VJ member who sent in the IV package between 13-17th so it will be hard to track over the next couple of days but right after that we have four members who should get a CC in short order.
Do you guys think we will make it in for May interview?

Have you already got your medical done?
. Sorry I was not clear, but I am talking about when I had my immigration/ medical done. I am a citizen now, filed for my parents
-
Hi all,
My wife came to the U.S. on a K-1 Visa, and is now a permanent resident. She is wondering if it is possible to petition for her parents to come as well.
I appreciate any help!
Far
Chances of her parents getting a visitors visa are higher b/c she is not a citizen yet.

In my place we call chickenpox "kankar pathar," ask your mother-in-law if your husband had the kankar pathar as a child. If he had it as a child, he need not take the shot for it.
This is my experience: When you go to do your medical ( I did mine in Mumbai) Even though they ask you about all the vaccinations you had as a child, they still give you all the vaccines that are on the list. First, the simple vaccines don't hut ppl and that is the way they make money. So I would suggest that don't worry about it. Take all the paperwork with you and let them handle it form there.

Hey VJ family
Question: If I have a joint sponsor (i.e. my father in law and mother in law who files jointly) what AOS forms do they fill up? I am helping a friend and she need our help.
-
30 days for such a trivial thing! They ought to rephrase their instructions to fill in if different otherwise write what's appropriate, but don't leave blanks.
I was very patient with the whole process, however now I am SO SO ready to get done. I am so over it now

Another question regarding the institutions, I graduated from a college which is affiliated to a university. All my graduation certificates are from the university, so for the graduation institution, it has to be the college where I studied or the university?
As far a I know, you have to put college. I don't think they are so picky about small stuff. They don't ask for certification etc.
-
I am re-posting this question as I did not get any answer. I have attended high school, intermediate and graduation from 3 different institutes so will I have to give details about all three or just intermediate and graduation? Someone answer please.
Yes, high school, college, and grad school.

I didnt knew New Delhi also came out with this list. Mumbai always does.
They have already come out with the list of the interview. So i dont think you will get a April slot.
Wait for May list and i am sure yours will be there. I am expecting a May for myself also.
Question: So if i get a case complete around April 15th, when can expect an interview?

Does anyone know if you get a checklist as well as the attorney working on the case.. That's if you get one because the lady at NVC told me all correspondence from here on is just with the attorney??? I was like ok
As far as I know, whoevers email is in the NVC system gets the checklist.

Alright folks, I've caught up, so I'm signing off. I won't have internet until tomorrow morning, so that's probably the next time I'll post. I have a job interview in the morning, so wish me luck

Hi All/ Saylin
Kindly be informed that we submitted the Affidavit of support along with DS-260 together on 28 Feb 2014 , but my stupid lawyer has committed a couple of mistakes on DS-260 as i was reviewing it couple days ago , i found 12 mistakes on that form , but the major mistakes are prior Visa applications that i have applied as he answered that question with No instead of Yes, and my address when i was 16 years old , as these mistakes are major and they cannot be justified at the time if interview so what shall i do in order to unlock that submitted DS-260 and correct the caught mistakes ?
I have seen some people saying that i have to wait 30 days after submission in order to call them and ask them to unlock it , is that true ?
Please advise VJ's ?
Thanks
I also made mistakes on 260, it has to do with dates. What I did is that I attached a letter to my IV package explaining what happened. When I called NVC about it they said that if its not a big deal, the beneficiary can mention it during the interview.

Let me dance first! guess what?! CASE COMPLETE!!! as of March 20.We just got off the phone with NVC and the rep. finally said the magic word that we've been waiting for!The rep. also said that they are just waiting for the available slots at US Embassy Manila for them to send in my case file.I'm so happyyyyyyyyyyy!!!To all the VJ members thank you and especially to Mrs. Saylin who really is a big help through our journey!
A big Congratulations to you !!!

Peace: I replied twice to this in the NVC threads when you asked, but I guess it got buried. It means that I called the NVC and that is the date they told me. There is nothing online that you will see.
Thank you so much You are right, every time I login , there are almost 100+ entries I did not see your answer. Thanks anyway...I hope we get done with this soon.

Frustrated. I paid the AOS fee on Wednesday and it said IN PROCESS until this morning...now it says REJECTED. I don't understand why since I have more than enough money in my account. I checked and the money hasn't left my account either so it's not a system error.
I repaid today...hope it works this time. I was hoping to send my AOS packet today or tomorrow. Guess I will have to wait some more.
I think its a glitch B/C same thing happened to me. It did go through the second time
-
I got an email from NVC which states that I am the agent of choice and that I should log in to pay my IV FEE, I tried To pay but the yellow triangle with exclamation still shows... Anyone have any suggestions?
It will show up, wait for a day
-
guys, anyone one experienced getting mail from the NVC saying im ready to pay the IV bill, but when I checked the portal it still doesn't have any amount to pay.
Yes, wait for a day, it will show up

I just got a checklist few mins ago Says there waiting for IV packet of course which I will send when I can get the police certificates from my husband, but also says I don't meet the minimum income with the I-864. Don't know what to do since I really don't have anyone to co-sponser for us. Should I just wait little bit to have more money save in my bank account?
Family: Just me and him so that's 2
My current income is: $13,969.44
My assets (bank savings): $20,348.20 (which increasing every month with my pay)
Did you refer to the I 864 P, your income should be 19,662. You don't have any friends/coworkers who can help you. Cosponsors could be anybody.
VISA APPROVED!!! Here's my Interview Experience. ^_^
