Yes for sure it costs something to the employer and it can be a pain in the butt to find a replacement for mat leave. As far as productivity goes there's a lot to consider. I'm not sure a woman that just gave birth 4 weeks ago, maybe in postpartum depression, that is waking up every 2 hours to breastfeed would be much more profitable.
And it's proven happy employees are more productive.

So you would have no issues or concerns whatsoever if your child was bowling in the lane right beside her? Or interacted with her at a super market? And what if she developed a fever 1 hour after this interaction? Yes there is hysteria and paranoia, and people may be blowing this out of proportion, but the bottom line is why risk it?
In my opinion she is an attention seeker, with no regards for people around her. The fact she is a nurse only makes this worst.

you need new facebook friends Obviously the Prime Minister should be held in safety... some people make no sense. They are absolutely targeting the people that are there to protect us, and as today's events showed police, RCMP, and Canadian Armed Forces came together and handled the situation, we should not live in fear and keep feeling safe even if it scary.

Well said, and so true. I think as a nation we have been shaken this week faced with a new reality. We all know these things happen but when it happens at home it makes you realize the issues at hand, and how uncertain tomorrow is. Since Monday I have trouble wrapping my little brain around how this can happen, how a French Canadian boy that I could have gone to school with can be radicalized and choose to commit such acts. The truth of the matter is it does happen and as Dualie mentioned we need to adjust our way of living to be more aware of our surroundings.
They will probably enhance security on both sides of the border which is normal and should make us feel somewhat safer. But I doubt that the fact Canada has some radicalized citizens (90 known for now) will make them doubt all visa applications for fiances and spouses. I think right now everyone should focus on the overall safety in both Canada and the USA and hope for the best.
Don't over worry about it girlfriend... no use to worry about something that might not happen

Exactly, TLC never said or implied it was a guide on steps to acquire the visa... it is just entertainment.

We share a pretty big border and many people go back and forth daily. We even have a program called nexus that allows Canadians and Americans that travel frequently to go through quickly and avoid waiting at the border or customs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NEXUS_(frequent_traveler_program)

It must be very hard on her to have to endure this. I think you need to take into account if she will still enjoy working there even if she is given the job she was hired for. Will all this really be worth it for her in the end?
And I would never want my husband to deal with my employer. She is a smart woman that should be respected but SHE is the one that must gain that respect. I manage employees and if someones spouse was trying to interfere that way I don't see how it would be to the advantage of the employee. This is her battle. You can support her and give her advice but I'm affraid you may be doing more harm than good by getting involved.
Best of luck, hope things get better.

There is no perfect government they all have issues and flaws. In Canada processing times for family based visas are insane, nothing less than 15 months and usually much longer. Americans have the privilege to sponsor their fiancés which is huge in my opinion, and one of the reasons we decided I would move there. The system might be flawed but it does in fact make it possible for us to be with the person we love.
    God bless America (and Canada)

None taken. I do realize we are lucky to live where we live, and I really do sympathize with people who are far away from each other and probably cannot see each other as often as we can. And you are absolutely right what makes this process so stressful is not knowing when things will happen. I'm an anxious person and I hate not having control over a situation. I did not in anyway try to minimize the anxiety or stress this involves. I'm going to leave my home, my job, my family, my country which I love, get married and start a family in a new place and all this without knowing when exactly if that is not enough to make someone anxious I don't know what is. As I mentioned this is my perspective and how I choose to view our situation so I don't drive myself crazy or my fiancé crazy for that matter.

Ok I have a different perspective on this... and it will most probably be shot down but... isn't waiting just a part of the process? I mean our timelines are not waiting 5 years! The maximum wait for a K-1 is not even 8 months tsc or csc.. so what are we really huffing and puffing about? A few extra months to build a solid relationship? I'm not saying it's easy, there is not one single night I have went to bed not wishing my boyfriend or now fiance was in bed right next to me! But I have chosen to pursue a love that I think is worth the wait. He has chosen to love and propose to a woman that is from a different country and bring her to live in his and love her and protect her. How many people in this world feel that strongly about another person? Not many in my experience. So yes the wait sucks, and might difficult but in 5 or max 8 months when you wake up next to that man and never have to leave him will it really matter??? We've been through a whole lot in this part year and I could not be more grateful or ready to start our lives together.

Staying positive is important and makes for a better relationship in my opinion. Before you know it this will all be part of the past and you'll be happy with your future husband
Congrats on your approval!!! We have also created our own timeline. We can`t control much in this situation so why not take control of what we can. In the meantime we enjoy our time together and are both working to plan for our future. Oh we also play scrabble online lol.

My question is how do they know it was premeditated or not? It's easy to say we got drunk and stupid and decided to get married. Do they ask for proof? Not only that but most people have lives back home. I could not imagine myself visiting my fiance for 2 weeks and then not having to go back home I mean I have to bring all my shoes with me for crying out loud This just doesn't make sense!

Lmao! I just showed my fiance your prison guard post laughing about how ridiculous some people are in their decisions to be with someone! We were both like WTH?!? and then I saw your previous post about being a male stripper. Just wanted to say thank you for making me laugh! At moments this site can be one hell of a downer but at least you make it funny. Please keep posting!

I also feel that way sometimes. I think maybe the distance forces us to work on our communication more than other couples. When I extracted our skype log, we couldn't believe how many hours we spend talking. In 9 months we had over 730 hours on skype alone. Needless to say we know each other pretty well even though we are apart.

I didn't know one of the symptoms of being pregnant and hormonal included not being able to read and then be bitter and attack people that try to help you. Everyone here made a choice to be with someone from a different country. We all have to deal with being away from our loved one and going through the process. Marco&Bettina and fishanchips were only trying to help you even though they are stuck at TSC. Right now WE ARE LUCKY if we are with CSC so get over yourself and be thankful for what you have.
