Jamie & Izzy got a reaction from MichonandRuben in Interview Advice: BRING EVERYTHING!
Very good advice - we have three 2" ringbinders full of material - one has copies of everything we have submitted to USCIS and NVC, the second has every kind of relationship evidence we could think of (including photos, boarding cards, etc., from all our visits), and the third has everything they asked us to being to the interview, an updated AOS form and supporting documents, and anything else we have heard that they sometimes as to see up front.

Just keep in mind, you could always get some jerk who is having a bad day and decides to delay you over something trivial. So bring absolutly everything - bury them in documentation. Don't give them the slightest chance of finding anything lacking.

i think my question would be if this person is not someone that you want to spend your life with the LOGICAL and REASONABLE thing to do is get a divorce. why are you even thinking about immigration? this is just sad.... to make it seem that immigration is the fix to your marriage problems.
i dont think i can ever think to harm my spouse ( whom i petitioned to come to the USA).
i'm sorry you think this way. your husband is a human not some packaged goods you bought from an online store and want to return.

First of all, that is horrible.
coming from a fiances point of view you cannot turf us away and send us away like an unwanted puppy.
also wanting to call immigration on us? I am lost for words.
I won't judge on you because I obviously don't know your reasons for wanting a divorce, but it gets sad when I see people treating those of us
who come over in what was good faith be treated like you can send us back like a gift you didn't like.
If you divorce BEFORE AOS is approved then yes this person will probably be deported.
You have to contact USCIS and withdraw your support/application.
Someone should be along to explain it better.

Don't fret it's not a huge mistake, typos happen, the embassy does them too.
Just mention it at the interview.

Pffffff....you dont know nothing about that process. How stressfully has been for me and still is. Im in wisconsin and Im passing reallly hard times here...
Believe me you sound like a child doing child things.
I just will ask you something: do you know why he divorced? ...the 90 days they give to you to married when you arrive try to find the friends and know better the person you will marry.
Seems to me that you dont know him enough to trust him to depend on him for this little period of life that is the visa process.
Believe me it feels like years and its really hard.
There is a lot of "marriages that went wrong" so please be carefully and choose the right guy. If you dont trust on him .....better dont do nothing.
    now small stuff:
you can have the drivers license if you apply in the 3 first month. but you has to be quick to have something that shows your address n wisconsin like a electric bill or bank ...I did it.
Cars? pfffff you can find a really cheap one and believe me really really cheap ones .
the working permit: takes a media of 90 days.
so everything you have moan here its ridiculous. ...work without permit? thats just the most "irresposable and selfish thing I ever heard. and if your job in argentina is so good...just keep working, save some money and 3 month living in his place at not cost will give you the peace of mind to expend all your money in a car insurance and inmigration papers. ...

Madison is not a boring place to be. It might be a great advantage to arrive in the morning and leave late afternoon. Taka a class or two. You can
even audit some for no credit so there is no pressure. Maybe even a part time job. Hang out at the library or student union. Plus there are 42,000
students there from around the world. Write now for a catalog at the University of Wisconsin.
Take some driving lessons and you can get all the information you need for many other things because you are in the state capital.

I really hate to be the mean one here but that is truly not my intention so i hope it wont come across like that. People on this site would go through hell and back a million times to be with each other and some do. I don't think any of them are concerned with small stuff like not being independent and not living in a small or big city and so on. Everyone on this site gives up their entire life, family and friend, pack their belongings into two suite cases and move to be with their love for ever so since you do not have these fillings that is something serious to think about.
I do wish you all the best and the strength to figure it all out.

I live in Milwaukee and moving to Watertown about I think 20min from where your at in waterloo... did you know you couldn't work before you left? did you know that you would have to depend on him until you get on your own feet? did you know things might be different before you came? just wondering if you guys talked about all that? I know when people are in love they forget about talking about life in general and so focused on " I love you' " I want to be with you" but marriage is not the wedding day...its the day after..... so for me I think its just something that's temp, I since its temp and marriage is life long I wouldn't make a huge argument on temp things ...before you know it you'll be on your own, driving your own car, working, being busy! one thing America will have you is busy! lol ... so I say take this time and relax.. enjoy your peace and quite. enjoy your alone time... before you know it you will be to busy to eat! and making friends is easy.. yes Madison is far from where you are trust I know we drive up there every Sunday. but maybe it can be a give and take.. when he is off work take time out and go drive up there or drive down town and im sure you will meet new ppl! I was there on Saturday in Watertown walked into a store and just met someone new.. they are friendly ppl in your town. Easy to make friends...I say don't stress enjoy your stay in America ...hope this helped if not sorry

IMHO, consider calling off the engagement and not marrying him. Your post is filled with scenarios that you believe will make you unhappy. You mention your fiance a couple of times and associated with the expectation of a bad experience. It seems obvious he won't change his lifestyle for you and expects you to make all the concessions. IMHO this is a recipe for a very unhappy marriage.
I don't mean to be insensitive or cruel and I apologize if that's how I sound, but it seems there is nothing in this relationship for you. Pragmatically, people need far more than love to make a happy union.
    Good luck whatever your decision.

God in heaven, I'm so sorry and I must say no one can be this incompetent I actually think they do it on purpose to delay us every step of the way. I anguished at the Nebraska h e l l hole forever then got stuck at the NVC backlog as so many of us did. I really can't think they can be this stupid! it's a conspiracy of sorts. but all will be well, we will all get you guys through this and try to keep you sane.

It really baffles me the way NVC works. They are so confusing and they give conflicting answers. How I wish there is no NVC stage in this process. This is my 5th month with NVC, and God helping me that I don't get any checklist for my IV.
**Me and my hubby would have done something good with our lives with this 5months that is just been wasted on NVC. :girlwerewolf2xn:

You're welcome. Layers are the key to staying warm in Wisconsin.... In case he hasn't mentioned that. It's amazingly green in Wisconsin. I had forgotten until we were there. Hubby kept getting quiet, saying he was filling his eyes with the green. Lol I'm sure you'll enjoy that part of Wisconsin.

I'll try to call again next week. I have been skipped over and delayed at every step of this process, I think I must have gotten on someone's bad list at NVC and my case is flagged.

Agent Tessa just informed me that my interview is scheduled for October 31st. This date is really not what I wanted to hear. When we started this process, as we had married just the two of us, without a ceremony and reception, we had planned to have the ceremony and reception once I was in America. We decided to plan the "wedding" for 18 months after we filed our application. The ceremony is on Nov 7th, so an Oct 31st interview date means I will likely miss the wedding, or best case scenario arrive a couple of days before.
I really hope the packet arrives with the embassy soon so I can get an earlier interview. I'd even take 1 week earlier if it means I can get at least a week in the states before the ceremony. Very bittersweet news

I'm happy I got it scheduled at least, but the date they scheduled is so far away!
I hope I'll be able to change it through the embassy...
