  1. Under the ASC notifications about reopening, it says

"USCIS will automatically reschedule any necessary ASC appointments that were cancelled due to the temporary office closure, or send notifications of biometrics reuse to eligible individuals."

Notice the phrase "or send notifications of biometrics reuse to eligible individuals"

So, my question is which applicants qualify as an eligible individual?? For instance, my wife had her previous biometrics just 9 months agao when she was in the process of getting her 10 year GC.

    Ideas??

  2. This is important for those who had biometric appts canceled.

    "Rescheduling of Cancelled ASC Appointments

USCIS will automatically reschedule any necessary ASC appointments that were cancelled due to the temporary office closure, or send notifications of biometrics reuse to eligible individuals."

What this means I assume is that those who have had biometrics done within perhaps the year before (or some pre-determined date) will not have to go for another biometric appt - they will reuse the previous ones.

Application Support Center (ASC) Appointments and Rescheduling
USCIS will resume in-person processing of biometrics at certain Application Support Centers.  Please check the USCIS office closings page to see if your ASC has reopened before coming to an appointment.

Individuals who appear at a date or time other than what is listed on the ASC appointment notice may encounter significant processing delays.

Applicants may only be accompanied by an interpreter, attorney, parent/legal guardian of a minor or individual providing assistance to a disabled person.

    Rescheduling of Cancelled ASC Appointments
USCIS will automatically reschedule any necessary ASC appointments that were cancelled due to the temporary office closure, or send notifications of biometrics reuse to eligible individuals.

Individuals who must still appear in person at an ASC will receive a new appointment letter in the mail.

If you do not receive an appointment notice or notification of biometrics reuse by mail within 90 days of your ASC reopening, call 800-375-5283 .

Note: USCIS cannot automatically re-schedule appointments for Canadian and United Kingdom visa applicants.

Canada Visa Applicants: visit the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada website for updated information.
UK Visa Applicants: visit the UK Visas and Immigration website for updated information.

That website is used by employers and individuals to find out if they are authorized to work in the US. That's why it needs your social and asks for all that information before it divulges sensitive information. It's a legitimate website run by DHS. I used it a couple years ago to prove to an employer that I was allowed to work in the US.

Yes, I finally figured it out that it is legal, etc.

Still waiting for any kind of notification that my wife's fingerprints were taken July 2, nada on any status page.

Good question. Probably one of reasons why it is worth following this forum. If it was me in the LIN October filing group and not received the letter by next week I would probably try to give them a call.

All due respect to this forum, but I believe most of the 751 applicants are not members here nor follow the forum

  6. Received USPS Biometrics appt from Nebraska. But noted so far there is no indication of this action on My Status Online ("fingerprint fee was received" is only post by USCIS). Thus my question asked by my wife (applicant) what happens if the US Mail letter gets lost or not delivered correctly, and with no indication online or via text message or email?? The letter states unequivocally that if you do not appear for the appt, USCIS will consider this an abandonment of your application.

  7. Just wanted to ask - was that 12.30 am Spanish time or Eastern?

JFH, no I converted the Spanish to US EST, so, though I checked at 10:30 PM (yesterday) and again the next day 6:30 AM (today) Spanish time, that translates to 4:30 PM US EST and 12:30 AM US EST.

What I thought was interesting was that from what I understood, the NVC people (the ones who ACTUALLY make decisions, not the ones who just answer the phone) work 8 AM to 5 PM M-F. So for me to see 2 N/As at 4:30 PM, and then the 3 N/As at 12:30 AM was pretty surprising. Unless whoever decided the case was complete did it just before he left work at 5 PM.

    Anyway I am happy.
