Wow I had no idea.... This is something I would imagine was done in the past, maybe in the mid 1800s. I had no idea. I guess you learn something new every day.

I must agree with others. For your own good, you need to separate yourself from him in every way and move on. Submit any evidence you have that proves he committed immigration fraud and get a divorce. Try not to dwell and don't look back. Take care of yourself and find those things in life that make you happy and work toward them (i.e. furthering your education and improving your own situation). Only you know what's best for you and please don't let anyone else tell you otherwise. Wishing you the best

First of all I am sorry this is happening to you. It's not fair. And by the way...do not give this douche bag the time of day. Do not answer his calls, do not reply. Just divorce this bozo and move on. It sucks but so does he.

Sandranj is right. It is time to cut your losses and run. Go to therapy/counseling if you need emotional support beyond family and friends.
    I tell my clients this.
He never loved you. It was a romance scam. He is a user. You loved a facade an apparition. Even at his sweetest, sexiest, and most romantic IT WAS NOT REAL. He is a sociopath and a liar. You were in love with a false front. You must tell yourself this over and over until you can move past the hurt.
True love is supported by actions that support the words and don't undermine you, stab you in the back, hurt you emotionally and physically and financially.
    Good luck!
Divorce now. Change ever bill, account, and lock on your home. If there is evidence of fraud, collect it, protect it, and send copies with a cover letter to USCIS, ICE, your congressman etc.
I believe scumbags should be sent home. We have enough in the USA already. Lots of good folks too thank God.

It's not that he's being mean... It's a difference in culture. I have a Chinese friend whose personality is much like Darnell's online. A lot of people take what he says the wrong way because, well, at times in Western culture much of that kind of attitude is considered rude. (As a result, he doesn't have very many friends and tends to piss people off.) Sometimes, I think that "Darnell" might actually be him based on his answers. He means no harm.

There's no need to be 'mean' here. I was just wondering since that part made no sense to me. I just had a question and as far as I know, we are all here to ask and answer those.

Your over-analyzing this.... Practically EVERYONE here lives apart from their spouse... That is why they are petitioning the government to bring their spouse over.... So they can live together... The certainly do not expect that everyone gives up their jobs to go live with their spouses while they wait... Nothing to do with cultural issues, but just with practicality.. Don't worry!

Where is your base to state the DR is one of the highest fraud rate countries? That's where I was born. Traveled many times with a tourist visa to the U.S. Later my grandpa petitioned for my mom and family so we got Permanent Residency. I became a U.S. citizen with no fraud at all.
That phrase you just repeated was the basic of A-COUNTRY telling B-COUNTRY to be careful of C-COUNTRY. You can of course substitute A, B, and C with any set of countries.
I'm glad petitioning is not an easy process. I see how it helps this country to be safer than others. I'm glad is not easy for me that have a real family, because it makes me feel is not easy for others to bring dangerous people here. Now, it is also the job and judgement of us as petitioners to make sure we aren't bringing dangerous or fraud to this country. I'm glad the OP has realize there is something to think about on her relationship. It could've been the case of a beneficiary being from a different country.
i won't go any further making examples of fraud just to stay away from putting any country on the spot. And I hope this post doesn't put any country on the spot either. To describe a country looking at a few individuals is really just silly.

    Hi everyone,

Most of the posts on the is topic seem to be done by a lot of individuals that are fairly new to the site, so I gathered a few links for you all that may help you out with gauging what is going on with your packets. The links below are for forums that have been started for individuals who have filled for each month this year, along with an interesting set of posts regarding the reason for the delays. I hope that you can find these links useful. I am a Feb Filer and staying informed, though stress, really seems to make me feel better (especially since you can't seem to get any concrete information from USCIS).

Living together is not required or even expected. Visiting spending time together is required. They know most of us live apart thus the reason for all this petitioning. It will not create any issue nor do you have to explain your culture to the CO or write an explanation.
Showing you have a bonafide relationship is what you do and many do it with great success without every living with one another. face time is the most powerful evidence you have in your arsenal.

From my friend's experience with coming to the US to finish his Graduate degree from Brazil, you may need to get a translation done for the transcripts, however, that's uncommon and usually the poorer, less equipped schools. The school should get them directly from your previous schools. This prevents any middle-man and chance of tampering.
In addition, the school should either have someone fluent in the language capable of translating or they should translate it themselves via a service. This also removes the middle-man and prevents tampering.
Personally, I'd recommend calling up a couple colleges, asking their process for transcripts with an international student transferring from a school abroad.

I remember there was a similar problem like this happened before and had discuss with my fiance. He is in the military so anything related about budget cut it would going to affect his paycheck. But he told me, there might be delay for paycheck but government would never shutdown their agencies. He was right, Obama signed the bill before the deadline. Read the link below:

I think the politicians just love play games to make suffer another people. I might be wrong, but it would never going to happen. The government will never shutdown their agencies.

One thing I have learned NEVER do daily comparisons of who is getting processed faster than you, who is in AP longer, whey are so and so getting preferential treatment etc... Truth is, it is a ####### shoot... You might be a lucky one and get processed right away, you might be an unlucky one who does not... It is just how it goes in this random immigration game. Some months K1 is faster, then bam... Something happens and they slow down and CR1s speed up... And the cycle goes on... Just have your S$1T in order and don't worry about who is getting preferential treatment because when it is your time... You will be happy and lovin life... The least stress you can cause yourself, the better... Talk, visit, save money, whatever you need to do to pass the time... But worrying about what someone else is or is not getting or stressing about VJ horror stories is not a productive use of time and will only make this already difficult situation more difficult... My 2 cents
