Mr.&Mrs.EMB got a reaction from sweet cakes in marriage cert?
The 6 month period to wait for the marriage certificate to be registered on the NSO is mandatory. The one that you guys have is the marriage certificate you both signed during the civil/church wedding whichever case and that one is the one forwarded to the local civil registrar where you got married. The local civil registrar is the one to forward your marriage entry to the NSO office. HOWEVER, you may do so too but this won't give you an edge or an expedite. When NSO says it is going to be 6 months, it definitely is. The one you're holding right now is okay to send when you first file the petition I-130 IR-1/CR-1 HOWEVER, the NSO copy will be needed after you get approval and your case will be at the NVC stage. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Okay, I am not a guru yet when it comes to that I-864 but here are the things I know (and did lol):
    - As the petitioner, you will sign a separate I-864 and your joint sponsor will sign another too.
Now, if your joint sponsor is married, let's say your dad, your mom has to sign a separate I-864A.
That's all I can share with you now. Let's wait for other VJ people to chime in. Good luck!
You have to pay another $165 ELIS payment for the green card ID processing, this will arrive on the US address once you get home in the states.

Very well said. We suffer the same predicament as my wife comes from those high fraud countries (Philippines). Yes, there are high fraud countries BUT that doesn't mean that everybody in that country are scammers. Thank you for sharing your story here and bringing some light to people with tunnel vision. Good luck to your entire journey through life.

    Hello VJ friends,
Recently I posted about my husband and myself and about our relationship status since his arrival from Nigeria. For those of you who have knows about our story and visa journey then you know it took us a long time to be finally together.
Since his arrival, we have been happy and our married life has been a great one. I posted a little update to encourage those who are still in their VJ to let them know that not EVERY relationship or marriage with a Nigeria is doomed, for the wrong reasons, for scam, or destined to fail. I got over thousand readers of our post but a handful posted their comments.
Then a week or so later, another member came in and posted a very vindictive and generalized post about all Nigerians and most people on VJ jumped to the opportunity to say their peace and point a finger at the person as if saying "you should of known this would happen when you married a Nigerian!".
Often we hear only one side of the story when people come back and post their dissatisfaction with the outcome of the broken marriage/relationship. I am not saying there is no truth in their stories, but hearing one side of the story doesn't mean we are getting all the facts. I personally run a support group on FB and I have met many couples Nigerians or otherwise with most having a successful outcome once they are together.
PLEASE those who are with their mates finally, instead of forgetting to come back and share your experiences, come back and share so others can relate, learn and grow from your experiences. WE hold valuable lessons for others to learn from. It is not just the bad that needs to be share. The good and positive does too!
I might be a one voice who repeats myself......but I pray I make an impact somehow, someway to exonerate the Nigerians name and reputation. Also, to give those Nigerians who's intentions are not so noble an incentive to improve and better themselves to do right by others.
We are one race that being human. Please love, help and support each other to improve life for others as much as we do for ourselves. God bless!

    'wait for the mail'
    is stupid.
why? it extends the time the casefile is at NVC.
The instructions for what to do, how to do,
    are
actually IN the NVC Payment Portal.
It smells to me like the attorney is stalling the submission of the documents into NVC, for whatever reason,
    or
is so old fashioned that he/she never learned about how email contact works with the petitioner/beneficiary at NVC. This 'wait for the mail' ####### is only that - #######. Sure, NVC still does it - it's called 'postal processing' and most readers at VJ, instead, follow the NVC HOWTO in the wiki section here (it shaves months and kills the postal processing inclusion at NVC).
    Sorry.
I wish I had other news for you.

Wow, your approval was quite fast. Congrats!
You can start calling NVC and ask them if they've received your case. Check the monthly NVC thread, now is NVC April thread so you can read more about the guidelines.
