Hope someone can help filling out the 864. First part I'm not sure of is that since I am in The Philippines I will be using a sponsor stateside. All of my income is derived in PI so Mom and Dads income will be the sole income in US. Do they both need to sign 864? It looks as though I still need to fill out the 864 even though I have no US income. Can anyone shed some light on this? Also so far we paid the $420 fee for filling. Then we will have to pay the medical fee at St Lukes. Last fee I guess is at the Embassy when my wife interviews I gather. What is that cost does anyone know? Am I missing any other fees?

Okay, I am not a guru yet when it comes to that I-864 but here are the things I know (and did lol):

- As the petitioner, you will sign a separate I-864 and your joint sponsor will sign another too.

Now, if your joint sponsor is married, let's say your dad, your mom has to sign a separate I-864A.

That's all I can share with you now. Let's wait for other VJ people to chime in. Good luck!

You have to pay another $165 ELIS payment for the green card ID processing, this will arrive on the US address once you get home in the states.

from what I read he must fill out I-864 no matter if he has income or not. Now what I think is that if you are gonna live w his dad at first dad fills out I-864A as a household member. I am calling USCIS/Embassy today to verify.

Hey all just stumbled across this....

So if your joint sponsor is married there spouse has to complete a i864 aswell?

In my case my brother in law has filed a i 864 and so has my wife since we are both in uk at the moment and have no USA based income. so should my sister in law fill out a i 864 aswell....?

Okay, let's do this.

Facts of your case:

Your wife is the USC but you both live in UK so no US income there, your wife will still fill I-864 form

Now, you have your brother in law as your joint sponsor, yes, he will fill another I-864

Is your brother in law married? Yes.

And so, your sister in law will fill out the I-864A form. Remember not to confuse the I-864 from the I-864A.

The I-864A is for your sister in law.

Good luck.

Yes. Your husband will still fill up the I-864 even if he has "$0" income. Your father in law will fill up another I-864 and then your mother in law will fill up I-864A. Hope this helps.

Cheers.
