Green card was in my mailbox this morning  so nice to be done! Not sure whether or not to apply for citizenship further down the line, but at least I have time to decide.

No card, just the letter today. The back of the letter says "Please note that simply filing an application, petition or request, or having an approved petition does not give the person it was filed for (also known as the beneficiary) permission to legally enter the United States. It also does not grant any legal immigration status." I'm guessing that the letter wouldn't be enough.
 
Are you sure your extension letter expires on the 11th if you only applied on the 10th? The extension letter should expire one year from the expiration date of your 2-year green card, not from the date of the letter.

  Just got my approval notice in the mail. It was dated 01/17 and says it's from the Boston field office. The envelope was postmarked 01/19 from Vermont. My online status never updated.

Sending off my EAD/AP renewal pack today

Has worked every time so far, and went down a storm at Thanksgiving with our American friends (though one of them wanted me to put meat in the middle next time and didn't understand why it was just empty space inside...blasphemy!)

Still haven't heard anything about AOS. I'm guessing we'll get an interview waiver as our status has always been on acceptance and never changed to interview scheduling. But eh, I have my EAD and AP, I'm working, I have no problem waiting longer for my green card if it means I don't have to trek downtown and take a day off work for the interview

My husband and I have found them to be horrendous. We got married at the end of June, tried to get me put on at the beginning of July and I only got on it at the end of August thanks to their ineptitude. We sorted it out by going down to the office in person, have you tried that?

Oh the pants thing. We both know what the other means when we say 'pants', which actually causes more trouble as we usually have to ask mid conversation "wait, do you mean YOUR pants or MY pants?" (meaning your definition or mine )
Others have included lush (means lovely, gorgeous, delicious etc to me and a drunk to him) and mate (means friend to me, animal naughties to him).
Oh and we've had many a joke argument about how to pronounce/spell aluminium

Try going to the uscis website. Click on tools, then click on submit an online request about your case. There should be an option about a document/notice not being received. Try putting that through. I put one through regarding another issue and today I received a new copy of my biometrics letter.

Got our NOA hard copies today too yay for progress!

Your EAD/AP combo card (if you applied for them both) are processed separately to your AOS application. Sadly the fact that your EAD card is on its way doesn't mean that your green card is also on its way, however if you did apply for AP then that comes through with the EAD so you should be able to visit your kids.

Just chiming in, but we're still waiting for the notification of acceptance, NOA1 etc. Very glad that we chose to send it via certified mail, so at least I know it got there!

Just playing devil's advocate here, but another option might be to hand in her notice when she's getting close to the end of the process, ie after the NOA2. A bit safer than guesstimating when your visa will be in-hand before the NOA2. She probably wouldn't be ready to go as soon as the visa is in her hands but she'd keep her bosses happy and be able to put away a bit of extra cash from the extra few weeks of work she'd be doing.

Just went through Dublin as POE yesterday. It was the most ridiculously easy part of this whole process.
The only bad thing was the amount of people down there! There were quite a few flights taking off before mine, two of which should have gone hours before but had been badly delayed.
Security is now a bigger operation before POE. The queue was huge but constantly moving. I did have to go through to secondary when I got to immigration but after waiting 20mins I was asked two questions- am I going there to get married and do I have a date for the marriage.
This took a little over an hour, from the time I joined the queue for security to the time I left secondary. I was left with a little under an hour until the plane took off and about 20mins til boarding was due to start so the timings actually worked out pretty well.

Haha that's another one! Thing is, we both love froyo, and for some reason saying "frozen yog-hurt" sounds wrong whereas "frozen yo-ghurt" sounds right. I'm met with a smug look every time I say it

Knightsbridge can NOT deny a visa. They are contracted to perform a medical exam and report the results to the embassy. Knightsbridge is not the American government. They have no jurisdiction over visa decisions.
If something in the medical report indicates a medical condition that makes a person inadmissable, then the officer at the embassy will make the decision on approval or denial of the visa.
You have no idea unless you were present at the exam what you fiancé said or how he acted. You don't have the REAL story, only what your fiancé chooses to tell you. He could have acted in a manner that made the doctor think he was unstable. They are evaluating his demeanor, reponses, and actions from the minute he walks in the door; all the time making it sound like thay are chatting about the weather or something. When coupled with his scars, and a report from another doctor, it could have made the doctor wary of giving him a clean bill of health. You also said months ago he had no doctor that treated him for his condition or a regular doctor that knew him well. You said there was no way he could get a doctor report. If that was true, then anything he took in from another GP was maybe not convincing.
This thread and your post are irresponsible given you have no facts.

Secondly, they didn't want to see ANY proof of relationship at my interview. Just the forms such as I-134 and the supporting evidence for that, police certificate, birth certificate etc. I took some proof of relationship just in case but it wasn't needed. That was all included in the initial petition so they already have a few bits and pieces to go by if they need to.

This is appalling. Whilst I haven't really used the forum for visa advice as my K1 form-filling journey was fairly straightforward, I made a number of posts here enquiring about post-POE practicalities such as health insurance in MA etc. Despite the fact that Nich-Nick doesn't live anywhere near MA, they supplied me with as much information as possible, going out of their way to find answers. I don't blame them for leaving, why should they stay when this is the thanks they get for years of selflessness?
When you are part of a forum with people in love, people waiting, people on this journey to be united with their loved ones, emotions run high at all times. Solid and up-to-date advice is needed as opposed to frantic people perpetuating rumours and incorrect advice. Unfortunately, with members such as Nich and Lost leaving, we are being robbed of the former and overrun with the latter.
