Sorry fir late reply. It is not asking me to invite nvc nor add nvc in my contact list. What i do is just dial +16033340700. But hangout works differently in different countries. Like my friend from nz cannot use hangout because it is not free to call nvc from nz using hangout.

Try magicjack app. They say its free also but i do not have any idea because i have not used it.

My guess is, calling US numbers from UAE using hangouts is not free and not even possible. I’m not surprised though, cause Magicjack and Viber are even blocked for calls. Viber we can use for messages but you are only lucky to be able to make call for 1 minute then later it says its blocked. Skype was only unblocked here few years back.

It is not really 100% but most who got changes are cc. If you have smartphone and good internet connection try to check the app "hangout" by google if it is free to call usa from uae. Becauae from where i am at it is free. Just do not forget to put +1 in front of nvc number. +16033340700. Hope this helps.

thanks. I have hangouts on my phone and I tried to type in the number but it wont let me call. It just says the contact is not on Hangouts and it ask me to invite the contact through SMS. is this normal?

Hello everyone. Our case has 3 N/As already since yesterday ( Nov 16, 2014 ) as what I've read it means we are case complete already.

But 2 persons are telling me that it is not sure thing for case complete. Is it true?

we haven't call NVC yet as my husbands job wont allow it till after 10 days( he will be off by then ) . As much as I want to call from UAE, its very expensive and I only have prepaid account. last time I called, I spent 2 etisalat cards but the line was cut as I was out of credit even before I could reach NVC reps.

I see 3 N/As now. In what I have read, its case complete. I'm beyond happy.

I was checking in the morning and it was still showing paid. Checked again now, and it changed to N/A already

The marriage seminar will be at the Municipal or City hall. You can do that within the 10 days period from the registration. most people do it the same day.

laurenmat We are hoping 3^rd week of November so my husband can bring any documents from his end that I may need during the interview.

NVC was saying we can expect in few weeks till Dec 14 which is the 60^th day from our last scan date.

I know there are still a lot of couples who are ahead from us on the process but here is only hoping.

I just got a nice supprise in the mail today. We got our NOA2. I was expecting a longer wait for the Nebraska Service Center to review our petition. I've been looking at various timelines and the stats here on VisaJourney. Does this mean I can expect our petiton to reach the interview/visa issuance somewhere around the second quarter of 2015 if everything goes smoothly? Also when exactly will we need to copy my wife's passport? She recently renewed it with her married name and won't be receiving it until early December. I was reading in the guides that we're going to need it during this stage.

If you are lucky at NVC stage, I guess 2^nd quarter next year will be fine, provided that all documents are ready and no checklist from NVC

Do not wait for the new passport if everything else are ready for submission.

NVC confirm and even others did the same, that we can submit passport in maiden and just submit the new passport in married name during interview.

That’s what we did cause I won’t be able to collect my new passport until December 7.

We are waiting for case complete now, praying there wont be any checklist with NVC.

They don’t have a courtesy booth anymore? Last year, they let me leave my bag at the security section. And only brought with me inside the embassy my wallet and papers for the interview.

So they changed it now.

It is still case to case basis. a friend of mine got her case number after 2 weeks.

just try calling NVC on the mark of 2 weeks.

Ours took 35 days from NOA2 till the case number receipt.

Are you applying in the Philippines or outside Philippines.

If in Philippines, you can apply to any provincial office. But if outside, I believe the request has to be in Manila.

I applied here in UAE and the Philippine Embassy told me to send the request to Manila.

I just submitted my IV documents 2 weeks ago and I sent all the Originals with Photocopy of each. Just trying to be safe.

If your wife have not stayed outside Philippines for more than 6 months, then you only need NBI clearance for her IV packet. you don't need to get a Local police clearance from the city.

NBI clearance is the Police clearance/Certificate for Filipinos. Send the original one with the IV document , and she can bring the personal copy during her interview.

As what I understand, Police clearances should be Original and not photocopy.

3 – Yes it’s doable. We did ours on our own, approved at USCIS without RFE, hoping there won’t be checklist at NVC stage. Take time to read the guides and ask questions if you have doubts, people here are helpful.

4 – Me and my husband met online too. He is in the US while im here in UAE. Most people here met online and its usual that newlywed couple who are not living together don’t have joint finances. You can send itineraries, tickets and photos, chatlogs, etc, you will be fine. For us, we ddnt send any sworn affidavits.

5 – I read in few threads saying to send an explanation.

6 - Its case to case basis. Some says 1 year to 1 and half. Others can advise better.

I got my police clearance in Qatar and sent the Original to NVC. IDK now if the copy I have is okay with embassy during interview or I need to request another clearance for the interview.
