Yes, they will stamp the I-551 in Abu Dhabi. You won't have any problem leaving prior to receiving the green card. We flew back to Abu Dhabi before we had the green cards. They will also write your A number in the passport, with the stamp. The stamp acts as a temporary green card until you receive the permanent one, so you can come and go without any problems.
jayjaym thank you for your reply.
Hoping everything will go smoothly on my interview next week.
Surely ill use Etihad Airways while flying to US. Ticket would be more expensive than other airlines, but if it means its hassle free at the POE, then I'll just spend few more AED with Etihad.

congratulations...
check this link so you will get an idea of the interview schedule
-
My husband used the EZ form too and he sent the other 2 previous years. Better safe than sorry.
-
Congratulations....

Say we proceed with K1 and not get married in Singapore. When she comes to US to get married, does she get to stay until AOS is complete? Meaning she will be in the US but cannot work.
Whereas it is illegal to come to US on tourist visa and plan to get married, you file a k1 to get married, correct?
- Yes, if you file K1, then you cannot get married in SG, instead you will get married in the US
- when she comes to US on K1 visa, you need to get married then she will adjust status, cant work until she gets the permit to.
- Yes its illegal to come to US on tourist visa and plan to get married.
-
Faster process is K1 (fiancé) compare to Cr1( spouse) . But If you process K1, she cannot work immediately as you need to get married first in the US and file Adjustment of status.
You can get married in SG, file Cr1, then once you get an acceptance letter you can file for K3. but I think K3 needs to Adjust status also.
- Yes she can visit the US while the application is in process, but she needs to go back to SG for Medical and interview
- Yes she needs to get Police clearance in the UK and SG.
-
Keep calling NVC. Try calling around 5PM UAE time.
-
Congratulations. I hope my interview will be that smooth too.
-
You can start the application, then she can go home for her medical and interview. that is if the whole process till the interview is less than 6 months. Maximum stay for a visit visa is only 6 months. But it is still up to the POE officer how many month they will grant for her, as they can give you 1 week , 1 month or 6 months max.
I guess she can adjust status in the US once she is there but that would be visa fraud. ( correct me if I'm wrong )
Good luck on your process.

Hello VJ,
I have concern on the PCC. I got my UAE police clearance on October 9, 2014 . the certificate says its validity is 3 months from issue date which means it already expired on Jan 9, 2015. But the e P4 I received says I may need to bring additional police clearance is all three are true. only 2 items are true for me as my clearance is less than 1 year. My Interview will be on Jan 29.
*** IMPORTANT *** Interview Reminders

? Applicants may need to bring an additional police certificate to the interview. If the following three
items are all true, the applicant needs to bring an updated police certificate to the interview:
? He or she is more than 16 years old;
? He or she obtained a police certificate more than one year ago; and
? He or she still lives in the country that issued the police certificate
Should I get new clearance or the one I gave them is already okay. Anybody here experienced the same?
Thanks
-Cheryl

It will not affect the process. I for one did the same thing. My husband file the petition with my married name in the I-130 and sent copy of my passport with Maiden name. I change my passport during NVC stage.
Ill have my interview on 29th and I will be bringing my new passport along with the old one.
-
Bring as well the DS-260 confirmation page with you. In case they would ask you for it.
Good luck and God bless....
-
Ours was exactly 35 days from the approval. Keep calling them.
Good luck

I don't know if all the forms are the same but with mine it only ask to list the last 5 visits.
I say, idk if all the forms are the same cause I have a friend who filled up her DS-260 few days before me and hers was different from my DS-260. she was asked for work experience for the last 5 or 10 years I guess but mine only ask for my current job.
She was asked also for educational information while mine didn't.

In the letter it probably says something like "A new police certificate from your current country of residence, if you obtained the police certificate more than one year ago". When did you actually got your police clearance certificate? If it has been more than a year, you will most likely need new clearance certificate. If the sentence I posted is different(A new police.....) on your letter...please post. the exact sentence.

thanks Jot Singh , its how it is stated in the appointment letter. in my case, theres only 2 statement that is true, i just want to make sure that I wont get 221G if i will not bring new clearance. I got my police clearance OCt 8, 2014. as per the clearance validiy which is 3 months, it is already expired on JAn 8 2015. My interview will be on the 29th.

Went to get the Dubai UAE Police Clearance Certificate today 03-Jan-2015 and here is the experience:
- We went to the Dubai Port Police Station on Jumeirah Road in Jumeira 1 - as I understand it from the Police website you can go to any Criminal Investigation Department Station to apply for this, I used the Dubai Police Website, went to Contact Us, clicked on the 'General Department of Criminal Investigations" line and then 'Location of Dubai Police and Police Stations' and then selected the 'General Department of Criminal Investigations' from the drop down at the top of the map. (this is much easier than I just made it sound). Then I selected the one I felt easiest to get to. Many posts that came up when I Googled this have said that you have to go to the Head Quarters across from Al Mulla Mall, that does not seem to be correct.
- Bring:
- Original Passport and a copy
- Your Valid UAE ID - they can pull prints with the UAE ID so you don't need to be finger printed
- Residency Visa and a copy - not sure this is necessary but it is stated as a requirement that you have "A minimum of 6 months completion on residency visa" and they kept the copy.
- 2 recent photographs size 4 x 6 cm
- We also brought as copy of the appointment letter as I saw it as a requirement on a couple of websites but I don't think it is needed and they did not keep it.
- AED210 fee - they accept Credit Cards and seemed to prefer that to cash.
- The officer at the Information Desk was very friendly and filled the application form on his computer in English and Arabic from the information we gave him and from the UAE ID which he placed in a reader.
- Once paid and application is signed they said the Police Clearance Certificate would be ready in 3-4 days and we could pick it up at our convenience as they are open 24/7.
We went about 9AM on a Saturday morning and the whole process took about 15 minutes. Again they were very friendly, the officer helping us was very friendly and even teasing us at times, other officers and a Captain that came up while we were there were also friendly and helpful. All in all a great experience. Please note the date of this post as fees and rules can change.
hi, I am in Abu Dhabi, I got my Police clearance for NVC stage last October and Ill have my interview end of this month. Im wondering if I still need to get a New police clearance as the appointment letter says, the clearance in current residency is valid for 1 year but the UAE police clearance is mentioning its valid only for 3 months.
btw, clearance fee in Abu Dhabi is only 100dirhams, but if you want the one with translation it will be 150 dirhams, so Dubai is a bit more

My wife and stepson went through pre-clearance in Abu Dhabi in June. It was quick and efficient. One of the benefits is that during your travel, you don't have to worry about getting turned back once you reach the U.S. - it does happen, although it is rare. I do suggest you go to the airport extra early, so you check-in for your flight as soon as the check-in opens. We arrived at the airport 4 hours before our flight and because of check-in lines, we made it to our plane only 10 minutes prior to the boarding cutoff time. The line for U.S. Immigration was also really slow. I think we were in that line for almost 2 hours. Another benefit to the pre-clearance is that the immigration officers seemed to be mindful of when each person's plane is departing. Although not stated, it sure seemed that they were pushing people through with plane departures in mind. The immigration officers in the U.S. don't need to think about that and thus the stories of people waiting unreasonable amounts of time to get through the lines at U.S. airports.
I highly suggest using the pre-clearance facilities if possible. Our experience was completely positive.
thanks jayjaym
Do they stamp I-551 too in Abu Dhabi? Im planning to travel to Philippines on April and maybe I will not received the actual green card by then. They said I will need the stamp upon entering the US again if I don't have the green card yet.
I 130 how to correct a mistake?

You just did it right.
Line 17 is for the beneficiary's information which is you and not your husband.
