Possiblymaybe got a reaction from ashcashbananas in Moroccan/American Dual Citizenship: Moroccan Government Approval Required?
I had some free time and I just called the Moroccan Embassy in Washington DC.
The lady I spoke with was very nice and helpful. She said that a Moroccan citizen does not need to inform Morocco or ask permission of the Moroccan government in order to gain American citizenship.
She said that a citizen of Morocco will not lose their citizenship and the embassy will always be willing to assist them if they need anything.
In addition, she said that a Moroccan citizen that has obtained American citizenship can travel to Morocco on an American passport. It is not necessary to enter Morocco on a Moroccan passport.
She advised that they travel with the Moroccan National ID card in case they need to do any official business or would end up wanting to stay in country for more than 3 months.
I hope this information is helpful!

We are Denver Field office also, but applied in January.
I think having few filings is good news for us because the office is not very busy.
It seems like the Denver field office moves very quickly, and if all goes well at the interview, you can choose to take the oath and become a citizen the same afternoon!

I just wanted to update on this thread because, luckily, there are not a whole lot of people that lose their green cards.
But for those that do, the available information is conflicting.

In my husband's case, we lost his green card after we applied for the N400 and between the biometrics and the N400 interview.
We did not file the I-90 to replace the green card.  It seemed expensive and unnecessary.  We also did not file a police report as it was lost in our home (and probably thrown away while cleaning).

So during my husband's N400 interview he had to sign a sworn affidavit that his green card has been lost and that it be returned to USCIS if it is ever found.  At the end of the interview, he was given that sworn affidavit and told to take it with him to turn in at the oath ceremony.

I would try my best to get the name change request corrected before it's official.
Or maybe even get the (incorrect) name change cancelled if it is too late to alter it... then go to court to add the middle name.

    Hello everyone,

I've had my oath ceremony yesterday, meaning my journey is over - I'm officially an US citizen. I'll still hang around here for a while, assuming there may be questions I can answer to help others and hoping I'll see all of you become citizens soon as well.

Here's a brief outline of how naturalization ceremony works at Denver office:

Scheduling : Your letter will (likely) say ceremony is at 1:30PM. I recommend you show up no later than 1, as you'll need to go through the "airport-level" security to get in, and there'll be a lot more people in line than when you showed up for your interviews, because of all the friends and family etc. Entry : There was a pretty long queue for the entrance and security - I'd estimate it took me about 15 min to get past security. The guard wanted to see my ceremony letter, driver's license and green card. Security is the usual "shoes, belts, metal off" thing, so keep that in mind when choosing your wardrobe and other things you bring with you.  After security, everyone - both citizens-to-be and friends and family - gets sent up to 2nd floor; you'll likely sit around there for a while, after you show another guard your oath ceremony letter, that is. Around 1:30 they started sending citizens-to-be (no friends and family) upstairs to third floor; there you'll surrender your Green Card (if you have one) and your letter, will be given a small package of flyers, booklets and US flag, and will be assigned a seat. The order in which seats are assigned corresponds to order in which people are called for the ceremony, so don't change your seats - lady in charge gets quite grumpy if you do that. Around 2 - or when all the citizens-to-be are in their seats - they'll let in the friends and family and start the ceremony. Ceremony itself took ~30-45 min; there are a couple of videos to watch, mixed with oath of allegiance and pledge of allegiance (to the flag), and presentation of certificates of naturalization.  I hope this is helpful and informative; I'm estimating there were ~60-80 people in my ceremony.

Not so far....I thought I should give them some time to work on it, although I am pretty sure that the USCIS will come back and say it is still "within processing times".

    Hello everyone,
I created a FB page to teach English to Moroccans. I am a Cambridge University certified English language instructor. I use Moroccan Arabic in my videos. Any is welcome, but because of the Moroccan dialect not everyone will benefit. Join us here: https://www.facebook.com/EnglishForMoroccansNow/
I also Have created two Youtube channels for the same purpose:

December Denver filers, keep your eyes open for an interview notice. There were 2 Denver filers in the November thread. One was just approved at interview and the second just had his interview scheduled.
