I agree that they don't have to be "Mr. Nice Guy", but they do need to be professional and treat people with respect.  They are representing America and are often the first point of interaction between foreigners and our government.  They absolutely should not be ridiculing people and laughing at them.  That wouldn't be tolerated in my government run office and it shouldn't be happening in the State Department.

We went to an SS office, in Pennsylvania, 4 days after POE and successfully submitted SS applications - received the cards about 2 weeks later in the mail.

Did you read what I wrote?  Can you understand the difference between being nice and being professional/respectful?  Those are completely different things.

Again, they do NOT need to be "Mr. Nice Guy".  I was and am agreeing with you on that point.

However, they 100% absolutely without a doubt need to be professional and respectful.  That is a requirement of their job.  I can guarantee you that ridiculing or offensively laughing at potential immigrants is against State Department rules.  It doesn't matter how many people have experienced that situation, it still shouldn't be happening.

Good point, now all he needs to do is become a Community Organizer for a few months and he will enhance his resume to the point where it will be inevitable.

But on a serious note, are you as a person of non-color dictating to a person of color what they should say or believe?

Here is what really is at play with the Kayne issue - if Democrats lose 10% of the black vote, they might never win another election, ever again.  So, they are in full attack mode.  They can't afford to have someone of Kayne's stature deviate from the party line.  He has too much reach and influence.  The possibility of African American minds being opened is full on apocalypse now for leftists.

Church, traditional family values, the value of life, traditional gender (2) roles, just to name a few.  This is the funny thing about liberal leftist progressives, they think they have the moral high ground to tell African Americans what they should think and value - they don't have that at all, because most of their values and beliefs are immoral.

You can disagree with him without trying to ridicule him.  Calling his comments ridiculous is not your right as a person of non-color.

They are in crisis mode.  They know they've hoodwinked the black vote for the last few decades.  They've done absolutely nothing to improve the lives of African Americans and now they will answer for that, even though they have no answers.  They will sling the racism accusations around, but in the end, their voter base is now eroded.  Traditional African American values don't align with the agenda of liberal leftist progressives.

I'm sure those not laid off will agree with my take on the matter and there are many more of them.  I guess you would rather have had all of those jobs move to Mexico, because that is what was going to happen?  Are you disputing that fact?

Comprehensive immigration reform has to include DACA by definition, otherwise it isn't comprehensive reform of our immigration system.  I see no reason to seperate them from the larger conversation, when they are a critical and controversial part of it.  We have several months before any of them would be even moderately affected by a bill not being passed, so let's use that time to negotiate something that fixes the overall problem.  Everyone here knows our immigration system is badly broken.  Like I said, Democrats want to separate DACA from the overall negotiations, because Democrats don't want to be forced to concede on any of the other reforms - they don't want any of them implemented.  That is clearly evident, as they've been flamboyantly outspoken about their opposition to additional reforms.  That opposition increases the need for DACA to be included in the overall reform, for those people who actually want overall immigration reform to happen.  We all know that overall immigration reform will stall out if DACA is addressed and resolved first.

Every political negotiation has winners and losers.  I think we can agree that DACA recipients will end up being winners, once this process is complete.  I don't know what more they could ask for at this point.  I assume they have much better lives now then they would have if they had stayed in their country of origin.  The fact that their status is being used to negotiate broader immigration reform doesn't negatively impact them and doesn't make them political fodder - labeling them as political fodder would suggest they lost something during the process or are worse off at the end.

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) is temporary.  There have been multiple populations of people from other countries who have been granted TPS, traveled to the U.S., and then went back home after a period of time.  That is the temporary intent of the program.

To solve this current problem, they should probably make anyone here for more than 10 years, eligible for LPR status.  Likewise, anyone here less than 10 years, would need to abide by the temporary intent of the program and return to their country of origin when their country is removed from the TPS program.  I have no idea how that would split up the Salvadoran TPS recipients.  There has to be a cutoff somewhere though and 10 years is a nice round number.

I am all for the "Approved" DACA people to stay and be held to the same rules as EVERY OTHER LPR here in the USA. That means if they mess up or get in trouble with the court system then they get deported, just like what would happen to my wife or your wife. BTW I am assuming that your a guy and if your a woman then I sincerely apologize.

I really do not think that there will be a "Clean Bill for DACA" only at all. I think that Trump thinks that this would a great time to call the Dems out on how fake they are. If they seriously want to help the DACA recipients then they will come to the table and negotiate. That means that you have to be able to give and take on some things, not just ok this is it and it's all or nothing.
