  1. My son had successful interview today (3/15).

As a side note to my fellow Jamaicans, based on my son's observation: (out of maybe 15 interviewees at that sitting, my son and another guy got approved - WHY?)

    1.  Please please be prepared for your interviews, this could be a great opportunity for you to advance in life.   At least you will have choices.

    2.  Don't be prissy before you even get your visa approved - respect interviewers and people around you

    3.  DO YOUR HOMEWORK - read, read and  read more

    4.  Research on what the steps are before your interview (1 person didn't even do their medical)

    5.  Check your documents, make sure you have every single paper ready - you never know what they are going to ask for.

    6.  Tell the truth - they already know the answers

    7.  Relax and enjoy the day at the Embassy - it's just a change in life not the end of your life.

    Good luck everyone!!!!

Can you request the police report from any parish, and once it’s ready you have to go to Kingston to pick up? Any information would be greatly appreciated. My fiancé is in Ocho Rios.

The headquarters, Pompano Bay in St. Mary or Summit station in Mobay can issue.   Not sure if others can actually issue a record for immigration.   Time to do a phone project and call around to find out the nearest place for you.  Pointless to travel to Kingston if you don't have to.

My wife went to passport office for police clearance certificate in India and the wordings in certificate are....

It is certified that there is no adverse information against Ms cxxxx wife of yyyyy passport number 00000 issued on ddmmyyyy , which would render her ineligible for IMMIGRATION PURPOSES OTHER THAN CITIZENSHIP for UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

It sound incorrect to me. Shouldn’t it be saying “eligible “ instead of “ineligible “?

    What do you think?
I asked her to get it corrected because as per the English language it means she is ineligible!

By the way it says “IMMIGRATION PURPOSES OTHER THAN CITIZENSHIP for UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” because this is what I picked for the reason to get the police clearance certificate on the application.

The operable phrases are "no adverse information" & "which would render her ineligible"  In other words they have found no reason on their records that would stop her from continuing with immigration process.  The wording is correct.

    Do u have any lawyer?

or dd u call uscis for approval?

    thanks

Nope no lawyer and I didn't call for approval.  One thing I did earlier this year was ask for a copy of my original notice of acceptance because I apparently misplaced it.

They responded and gave me my priority date etc which I knew already, so I guess they had it out already and someone took the ball by the chain and approved it (I'm just assuming).

As a matter of principle though, throughout my immigration journey, I always try to trigger my cases by calling or making a request.  It's just my personal assurance that my file is not lost in cobwebs or file 13.
