I might be late to the game, but my son collected his passport today at the Kingston Jamaica Embassy. We were floored to have him receive just his passport and not the big manila envelope. Immigration is going PAPERLESS!!! IV was transferred electronically to CBP. Has anyone experienced this as yet? Or am I just a slow goose.

My son had successful interview today (3/15).
As a side note to my fellow Jamaicans, based on my son's observation: (out of maybe 15 interviewees at that sitting, my son and another guy got approved - WHY?)
1. Please please be prepared for your interviews, this could be a great opportunity for you to advance in life. At least you will have choices.
2. Don't be prissy before you even get your visa approved - respect interviewers and people around you
3. DO YOUR HOMEWORK - read, read and read more
4. Research on what the steps are before your interview (1 person didn't even do their medical)
5. Check your documents, make sure you have every single paper ready - you never know what they are going to ask for.
6. Tell the truth - they already know the answers
7. Relax and enjoy the day at the Embassy - it's just a change in life not the end of your life.
Good luck everyone!!!!

My son got his interview today. Went very smoothly. They didn't ask for any updated document. Good luck everyone on your journeys. Mine is completed finally. 2013-2022 immigration for myself (citizen), my mom (GC-up for citizenship this year) and my son (GC).

Yes. We are from the Caribbean and case was ready and done with NVC 2020, of course along came the pandemic. We were also getting automatic 60 days updates. My son just got his appointment, I think on Saturday for March 15. It looks like things might be rolling. Good luck!!

Just dropping in to say so sorry for your loss. It can't be easy to lose a child and then maybe having to leave another. I don't have an answer but I pray you'll get some comforting responses.

Hi guys. I just got email that my son's documents were approved at NVC. Next stop medical/interview, which everything is on lock down, so no clue when this will happen.

Ok so you do apply in St.Marys, then afterwards it has to be picked up in Kingston with the receipt? Is that what you’re saying??
Looks like they can issue there, call and make sure before making the trip.

Can you request the police report from any parish, and once it’s ready you have to go to Kingston to pick up? Any information would be greatly appreciated. My fiancé is in Ocho Rios.
The headquarters, Pompano Bay in St. Mary or Summit station in Mobay can issue. Not sure if others can actually issue a record for immigration. Time to do a phone project and call around to find out the nearest place for you. Pointless to travel to Kingston if you don't have to.

One more question @Pinkrlion @Caramel Swirl the medical has to be 10 days before Is it 10 business days or just 10 days including weekends as well?
You need that appointment letter to set your medical date. As soon as you have that letter then get your date. Turnover depends on what’s going on for you medically.

No not sealed.

My wife went to passport office for police clearance certificate in India and the wordings in certificate are....
It is certified that there is no adverse information against Ms cxxxx wife of yyyyy passport number 00000 issued on ddmmyyyy , which would render her ineligible for IMMIGRATION PURPOSES OTHER THAN CITIZENSHIP for UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
It sound incorrect to me. Shouldn’t it be saying “eligible “ instead of “ineligible “?
What do you think?
I asked her to get it corrected because as per the English language it means she is ineligible!By the way it says “IMMIGRATION PURPOSES OTHER THAN CITIZENSHIP for UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” because this is what I picked for the reason to get the police clearance certificate on the application.
The operable phrases are "no adverse information" & "which would render her ineligible" In other words they have found no reason on their records that would stop her from continuing with immigration process. The wording is correct.

They post updated timelines every week: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/nvc-timeframes.html
Yes, but of course with NVC/USCIS it can be earlier or later (we pray for the former)...

Yes haven't had any issues for the past few days. Everything is uploaded now. Next set of waiting begins. Looks like they are about 2 months behind in looking at submitted documents.

Yes, it's been on and off for a few days now. Just keep trying until your documents are done uploading.

I called NVC today and got my case and invoice numbers. Tried to select agent on CEAC but it' greyed out. I'm thinking it's not activated yet. Will try tomorrow. No email yet from CEAC with the case creation info:
PD - July 29, 2014
USCIS approval - Sept 2019
Rec'd by NVC - Nov 25, 2019
Case 'creation' - Jan 3 2020
-
I don't have an answer, but condolences on your loss. I pray for strength and success in your journey.

I just called NVC and finally they received file on Nov. 25; so it took 8 weeks. I guess we just wait for the site to update to make arrival date current before a case number is created.

Do u have any lawyer?
or dd u call uscis for approval?
thanks
Nope no lawyer and I didn't call for approval. One thing I did earlier this year was ask for a copy of my original notice of acceptance because I apparently misplaced it.
They responded and gave me my priority date etc which I knew already, so I guess they had it out already and someone took the ball by the chain and approved it (I'm just assuming).
As a matter of principle though, throughout my immigration journey, I always try to trigger my cases by calling or making a request. It's just my personal assurance that my file is not lost in cobwebs or file 13.
