CanGirl got a reaction from Maya&Matt in Fiance's new friend
I agree with this. There is absolutely no reason why he cannot work right now, besides being extremely sick and unable to leave his house. Why did he quit school when he knew he can't work? He is disrespecting you and your relationship by spending so much time alone with this woman. Why did his Dad bring this woman over? Does he want his son to see someone else, not you? Does he want his son to stay in India?
You need to have an in-depth discussion with your fiance and find out what is going on. No accusations, just talking politely and in a mild tone.

You would answer NO to that particular question. And answer yes to this question: "Have you ever been refused a U.S. visa, been refused admission to the U.S., or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry?" and in the box where it asks for explanation write that you were denied entry and ESTA was cancelled.
You didn't violate the terms of your visa, the officer assumed that you were not going back to your country, that is not on you.

Don't staple because they want to be able to take apart your package, scan it in, etc. Staples will just cause unnecessary work for them.
Have you called NVC to confirm they have your file?

That sounds like a very legit reason to go visit the US and you have a lot of evidence about returning to the UK. You should be fine at the POE.
Of course bring all evidence with you of returning, return tickets, and any paperwork you have from USCIS about your case. Bring NOA2 for sure. At the POE remember to be polite, honest and give short and to the point answers. Don't show any paperwork unless they ask you for it, or you think it is relevant to show, like return ticket and if they ask about your pending visa. I'm not sure about the POE checks, there may be more once you arrive in the US I can't say for sure.
From my experience: I went to visit my husband in the US for 2 weeks just after receiving my NOA2. I didn't have a lot of evidence of returning to Canada with me. All I had was the NOA2 and return ticket. The officer said that was all he needed to see and let me through.

Ok thank you so much read it five times now and didn't remember it was there. I think I need to take a rest or sleep to be able to think for Pete's sake. So the DS-260 and DS-261 don't have fees? so just $88 for the AOS and $230 for IV correct? Thank you again great information.
    Exactly just shameful!
Yes thank you, needed an idea how how much the total for NVC is.

NVC needs the Affidavit of Support forms to establish that the sponsor will be able to support the beneficiary once they move to the USA and will not go on welfare or use public assistance etc. The fee for the form is $88. I suggest you read the Wiki for the NVC process a couple times to really get an understanding of this part of the process: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process

If you are asking about NVC forms:
    AOS fee: $88
    IV Fee: $230
After the interview: $165... honestly don't know why they charge this I just know it's a fee they charge lol

Certified copy is accepted at interview. As long as the CO can see that it is not a photocopy and clearly issued by the governing agency with stamps, etc.

In this context relating to NVC when we say AOS we mean Affidavit of Support. Not Adjustment of Status. Hope that clears it up for you.

It just means they are updating your case in the system. Most likely invoicing your AOS fee. Sit tight and try again later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Im an enthusiastic gamer, and I was playing combat in ancient enviroment in a MMPROG, my fiancé and me met in December 2009 because were part of the same community of players, in fact we were around to each other without paying too much attention just knew briefly about the reputation of the another. One day mi fiancé decided visit the server where I was playing and I was all friendly with him and dragged him all the day with me to check stuff. He was polite enough to go with me to see one or another event without lose the patcience about all my bla bla bla, lol, so he thought that will be cool try a shot there and joined in my combat group. So, we had to be team mates in the same raiders group and had fun playing together (he and me have a high rate in that combat game).
In the beggining we had text chat first and then jumped to voice chat in the game for get a better support when we were playing raids, after a few times to fight together we jumped to skype because the voice service of that game its kinda crappy and gave us lag affecting our performance. As hardcore gamers we became friends in the heat of the battle helping each other to get victories, but after any raid we started to have conversations as friends. With the time my fiancé showed interest over me beyond my gaming skills and asked me start to date in 2010 having a LDR. In the next months our relationship jumped from the pixelgame to RL in a amazing way, knowing each other in detail through long conversations for hours and hours, our longest call in skype last long like 76 hours lol, that include even sleep time and naps, we talked about any topic possible that get our interest, we talk about our family, work, issues, etc (we still doing it btw)... We were discovering that want want be together dealing and learning about each other through the odds that a LDR can have.
My family knew that I was hooked in videogames so wasnt a big deal hear me talk and laugh all the time wearing a headset lol, but when my fiancé asked me have videocalls, were clear to them that something was happening between us. In fact, my family used to walk into my room and say hello to him lol and he went all friendly to them, things went all natural. For his part his family started to hear my name because he talked about me with them all the time since we started to date. We got engaged in 2012 in middle of a conversation and was amazing, for life situations we had to wait to met each other RL but the relationship went growing and stronger through the skype day after day, he knows even how my hair looks waking up and viceversa lolz. In the summer of 2013 he decided come to see me and met my parents, of course we were engaged but he wanted show them respect and ask their blessing and permission to get married, my parents were amazed and happy for this detail from him and of course they gave us the blessing for our future marriage. Met each other was great, nothing was weird at all, in fact, were great talk face to face and no through the screen or headset! We spent an amazing days together and after the visit, we investigate about what kind of visa I will get, we decided to get the K-1 and get married in USA because the the procedure of the spouse visa its a long wait. So here we are in middle of the process to get my K-1 visa.
Thanks for read me and hugs to all!

Aww this is the best advice I have seen on this forum. I'm just starting to realize this now. I've been spending a lot more time with my parents and my family and building relationships. I want to be with my husband but at the same time I am so sad about having to leave my home and my family. I'm just trying to appreciate the time I have with them now and I don't want to wish it away at all.

Six years down the line from the K1 process, let me share a tip with you.

If you're planning on spending the rest of your life with this person who lives in America, spend time building and mending relationships in your life at the moment. Once you make the move, it's incredibly easy to lose touch, to feel homesick and lonely, even when you're with the one person who makes you feel whole.

Trust me ... take the time to enjoy the family and friends that you have NOW. Planning for tomorrow is great, knowing how the process works before and after you arrive in the US is even better, but the best thing is building a lot of memories of the loved ones that you are going to see much less of once that visa is in your hands.

Best of luck in your process, but please don't wish your life away. The time will come.

I am going to miss Canada. I will miss my family and my children, but they are grown now and have there own lives. I was born and raised in a small town of 300 people and then moved to a bigger town of about 5000 people in Northern Ontario. So you can imagine this country girl moving to a big city just south of Boston, MA. It's going to be an adventure. I am going to miss the sounds of nature and the piece and quiet. I don't do well with the hustle and bustle and the noise of the big city. I've visited him often and absolutely hate it where he lives, I'm afraid to walk down the street even during the day. I know I won't be going for any long walks with the dog anymore. And it's going to be a switch having 3 younger children to care for. Not used to little ones anymore. I will be alone and not know anyone. But it will all be worth it. We've spent the last 5 years apart, I just want to be with him. We'd both love to live here in Canada but because his ex-wife has custody of the kids that's just not possible. I get bugged a lot for saying EH. Drives me nuts. I mean I could make fun of them because of there Boston accent but I don't it's called respect. Hopefully I can make it work. I know I miss home a lot and have my moments, but he is what I want so I will make it work no matter what.

I miss Canada big time! I've been living in NYC since the end of Dec 2013. It's a far cry from Montreal where I was raised and lived most of my life.
Imagine, I leave, and now the PQ is finally ousted and the Habs are in the playoffs! I second Erica in that I also miss a good ice cappuccino from Tim Horton's. I tried a couple of them in Manhattan and God it tasted awful!
Seriously though, it's been a tough adjustment for me because I am really not loving NYC but I'm managing. My husband is so understanding and supportive. He went through a similar journey when he left our native country of Trinidad to immigrate to the US a few years ago so he gets the homesick feeling. I can't wait to go back for visits once I get my green card. I really miss my mom the most...
I haven't made any friends here yet but I know I'll eventually make some new connections. I have such awesome family and friends back in Canada and it's great that we still keep in touch regularly.
It's been great to read this thread

Wait until you pay the AOS fee. The cover page with the barcode is generated when you pay. I would also wait until the money is debited from your account or you see it pending from your account so you know there are no errors with the payment.

You can speak to the person who answers the phone. You are now considered the principal applicant so they will speak with you about your case.
When you call just remember that it may take a few (ok a LOT) of tries to get through. You'll keep getting a busy signal but just keep redialing. Since you are calling from Australia I would suggest using Google voice (free), or Skype, some phone apps work as well. I was using Magic Jack on my phone but it stopped working for me so I use Google Voice now.
I don't have much experience but I think that would be sufficient. Your job letter should state your current position with the company, when you were hired, and how much money you will making. If possible even how long you will be at the company (to the foreseeable future or something to that affect) meaning that it's not a temporary job. Just in case I would still use your joint-sponsor if you have one. Or get a joint sponsor in case they don't accept it.

Don't worry cover letters are as you said, optional. You won't receive a checklist for not signing an optional cover letter. Its not something they require at all. We just include it for the sake of human error and letting them know what's included in the package.

I think it would be better if you stopped checking constantly. It's something we really have no control over. Check the stats for approvals and wait til around that timeline to check it before you start stressing yourself out. I know that while I was waiting for my NOA2 I didn't check until the 5th month and all of sudden it was approved. A lot less stress for you. Good luck and stay positive!
