Isn't it funny when someone posts something that someone else said that is completely off the wall and batsh*t crazy, and you think "Nobody could possibly defend this!!"
And then someone does. Or tries to.

Why people bring up the issue is because there's an imbalance where a majority of older men are seeking out younger women. It is disproportionate even among married men when their wife is American. People wonder why. It comes down to economics - these young women are looking for opportunity and financial stability that is harder to achieve in their country. That gives the American men the upperhand in picking what they want - young, pretty, petite.

California's Hispanic population is slated to become the state's majority ethnicity by the end of this year according to a new report by the governor's office.

Imagine that! Mexicans in California, of all places!!!!!!
Next thing you know they will start to rename our cities. You can say good bye to San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco and others! They will be given some Hispanic name! It is part of the conspiracion!!!

Relevant criticism is not necessarily "going off."
I'm not only grossed out by the merchandise mentality (which, to be fair, can be seen in both sexes on here), but the lack of respect for any subsequent partner acquired quickly after a breakup. People need time to heal from relationship breakdowns. Encouraging people to go out and get another (or another, better model from Country X) can be a recipe for disaster, both for the person with the recent break-up, and the new partner.
All that being said, I shall watch this thread for the inevitable appearance of those who tell us we're just jelly.

You are right, of course, about the genie being out of the bottle here relative to the massive numbers of weapons in private ownership. Yet I still think we owe future generations at least making an attempt to make gun laws a bit more sane. Self-defense very rarely requires the ability to discharge 30 or more rounds without re-loading. I know it is shown on the screen multiple times but reality shows that the only real use for semi-auto firing large capacity weapons is offensive in nature. Zombie wars are not reality! So why don't we make semi-auto firing and the ability to accept large capacity magazines illegal for gun sales here? Register all those already out there and forbid transfer of ownership! Someday the citizens of this country might thank us. I know this incites the ire of the crazies on the right but if more of us will have the courage to stand up and declare publicly how we feel maybe we can turn the tide on this issue!

just my opinion, fwiw. a president cannot make decisions with emotions clouding his judgment - therefore his family needs a similar level of security afforded to the office of the president. the last thing we'd want is someone using a member of his immediate family as hostage pawns for political gain. this level of security for his family removes that as a possibility.
in short - trying to compare the security afforded to obama's family/children to the average citizen's family is comparing two entirely different situations due to the very nature of the office held.

Boy did I have a wacky day! It was a regular work day, and as I was pulling out of my condo's underground parking garage to head to the office, I heard a terrible noise! I was afraid that perhaps the transmission in my 15-year-old car was about to explode, but not so afraid that I kept from driving the 15 miles to work, which includes highway driving. When I arrived at the office, I was relieved to discover the source of the noise: the plastic shroud thing in the front of the car had come loose and was dragging on the ground. Thank Jessup! I was even able to remove it myself. The remaining screw holding it onto the car was so loose, I didn't even need a wrench! Just my dainty fingers. I hope no one in the parking garage tried to sneak a peek while I was on my knees next to the car, stilettos in the air.
For lunch, I had a chicken focaccia sandwich, a side salad, and half lemonade, half iced tea from the drink station. I like iced tea and lemonade, so I made a mixture.
On the way home, some dickwad pulled out in front of me and proceeded to go about 10 mph. It's snowbird season. Lots of Lincoln Town Cars and Ford Crown Vics that look like they're being driven by...no one. They pay no mind to rules of traffic or indeed the laws of physics.
At one point during the day, I looked out the window. At first, I thought I saw several MILFS mud wrestling (cue Kip), but it turned out to be a pile of mulch. I think an optometrist appointment might be in order.

Uh, I live in San Antonio, and this story was well reported all over the news here - not "kept quiet" by the media, as your source's headline claims. Your source got additional significant details wrong. (Why you would put your trust in dubious sources like that is another story.)
The suspect did not go into the theater "to shoot more people." He was attempting to escape from an on-duty San Antonio police officer (who had already been called to the scene by people from the restaurant) who came across him in the parking lot as the suspect was chasing someone and firing shots. The suspect then ran into the theater and into a bathroom there without firing any more shots - he was trying to hide from the cops and deputies on his tail. The off-duty Bexar County Sheriff's deputy, along with another off-duty San Antonio police officer, first secured the patrons in the lobby, then followed the guy into the restroom where the final confrontation took place and the female deputy shot the suspect.
She was awarded a Medal of Honor by the Sheriff's Department.

    I'll add this:
I taught at an American school in the Middle East for 5 years. My students were made up of embassy and oil kiddos, along with some local VIPs.
Very few vehicles were allowed onto the campus. The ones that were had to be bomb-checked. Guards everywhere, and ten foot high fences with barbed wire.
In the Middle East, this makes sense, as American establishments have a history of being targeted in the region. When I came home to the USA for short holidays, the freedom and peacefulness of not having to worry about bombs and such was amazing and energizing.
I find it sad and depressing (not to mention slightly infuriating) that our nation may resort to the same security measures in order to protect itself from its own citizens. I think it's a slippery slope. Next it'll be malls, hotels, and pretty soon we'll be no different than many of the establishments in the Middle East.
That is not the America I love and envision.

That won't work. The NRA and its supporters doesn't have the funds to do that. The proposal the NRA just put out would cost somewhere in the range of $10 billion a year. The NRA and its supporters can't fund but a tiny percentage of that. They're looking for big gubmint and the taxpayers at large to pay for all that. Yeah, they love big gubmint when it picks up their tab.

We like to have philosophical discussion round our dinner table. Last night we speculated of what might happen if the US did as Australia and confiscated newly illegal weapons through a buy-back program. We reckoned there would be violence in the streets, with both sides shooting at each other. And that the US falls inward on itself, all over 27 words originally written to protect us from outside invasion.

    Dear Amber&Neil:
Well, I'm not sure if you're Amber or Neil, but fortunately, my answer would be the same either way: POLYESTER!
Although I'm a modern woman, I admit that I can be a little bit old fashioned. If someone is going to the trouble of hosting a party, you should make some effort with your dress. For the ladies, I suggest a red dress with vertical stripes, and large glasses. Also, bring a bottle of champagne (a welcome gift for all occasions) and a tub of Cool Whip. Your hosts will be wowed by your thoughtfulness!
For the guys, brown polyester pants (trousers) can't be beat, and a collared shirt of your choice. Some may disagree, but to me, big collars never went out of style.
Good luck, and have a great time at the party.
    Love,
    Joyce

    Dear Mr. Fancypants:
Yes, that is true. As for why you're turned off by the "natural look," perhaps your partner (or former partner, I don't mean to be presumptuous) should practice a different hygiene regimen. Perfumed soaps, scented douches, and personal sprays make great gifts.
    Good luck!

I watched The Three Stooges, Coyote and Roadrunner cartoon, Tom and Jerry etc. Lots of violence in all of those old cartoons, wasn't there? I never once thought it was ok to hit someone in the head with a sledge hammer or poke them in the eyes, rip their hair out etc just because the Stooges it. What about all of the old western movies and tv shows? Lots of shoot em' up action there too. But now people are violent because of video games, movies and the news?? What changed in society to make that happen?

I'm not for gay marriage. I like to be married to my wife. But I do support the right of homosexuals to marry. Ideally, they should be able to do that anywhere in the world but certainly, they should be able to do that in the developed world. In many part they already can and soon they will be able to get married all across this country as well. And there ain't a damn thing the homophobes can do about it.
