I disagree with Pianoman815, as I also have an Electrical Engineering degree, and my thoughts tell me I have seen every state in the US posted here. Why if only 5% is a user of this site, it would not be a fairly accurate accounting of what really goes on from east to west coast.
AS LONG as CSC is kept separate from TSC. I find Igor's List very accurate, as it missed my wife and my NOA 2 by only 6 days!!!

One poster asked why Filipinos are being approved so quick, at both service centers, is because they are being 'expedited' due to monstrous Typhoons in back to back years, and massive loss of life and places to live. Been there, seen it!

If these people can qualify on some type of visa, then so be it, though I know, there are many places in dire straits in the world, I have never seen anything like what has happened, to the most populated part of the country.

OP, I suppose you know the Philippines is on ""expedite"" and you can get an I-129F approved in about 30 days, then on to NVC, and the embassy.
I wish I could understand this strange line of comments.
If you have a fiance, and want to come to the USA, the ""door is open"" and you will not have to wait for 10 months and 4 days like me and my wife from Cebu did!
Take advantage of what the situation, is now, for Filipinos.
I wish you the best, on what ever journey you choose to take!

99% of the time you will always file married, filing jointly, then there are certain tax breaks your CPA can use.
Talk to good friends here in the USA, find a good honest, CPA (Certified Public Accountant) to always do your taxes.
If a CPA signs your return each year, it is highly unlikely you will ever be audited, just my experiences with this situation.

I speak from our bad experience of waiting until after we got married to get SSN!
Before you are "settled in" and un-packed, go to your SSN office, and apply, as your I-94 should be in the system, in a day or two after P.O.E., and get the SSN card under your un-married name, then after the marriage, take a copy (certified) of marriage cert., and just change your name.
We waited after the marriage, there was no record of my wife's name, as she used her married name, she came here, I-94 under maiden name, it would have been so easy, but we goofed up! Do not make the same mistake. We made 5 trips to the SSN office and then had to have a special "person" there to get our mess straightened up!

To me the OP is not asking for a new job, just to continuing what they are doing in Canada, for a Canadian firm.
I just do not see anything wrong with it, as all the out-put from the job, goes to a Canadian firm, and no benefits are gained for any company in the US, so this would not be subject to EAD approval to me, maybe I am wrong, its just my thinking.
As far as paying taxes, I would consult a good CPA.

When we were going through this process in 2012 and 2013, we were at Vermont Service Center, and they were as slow or slower than TSC, and I asked many questions on this site.
No.1 golden rule told to me by several moderators, is, "NEVER plan nothing until you have a visa in your passport, no airline ticket, nothing," when you have a visa in hand, you can buy tickets, plan events etc.
As for Igor's List on this site, they were within 6 days of our NOA 2, so to me they are pretty close.
Best of luck on your journey, follow Igor's List on this site and you can do some "very limited planning" until visa in hand, and hope you are not delayed by another phase of this journey.

Document everything you have said here, back it up with facts as best you can, and get a good attorney at once. I think this is too much for one man to handle by him self.
This woman knew what she was doing all along. This "medical condition" may be real, but just reading all the content, shows extreme deceit, and I would not trust her for one minute. Nothing she said or did. Having a kid, and not telling her fiance, is something, I personally could never accept. You put your future, and your physical well being at risk if you spend 1 more night under the same roof as her and her family.
She will induce physical harm to herself, and call the police, then "SHE has you where she wants YOU!
Please, you seem like such a nice, honest guy, you do not deserve this, RUN!

I am not a woman, but I would ask this man, to tell me when he wants to sit down and have a "heart to heart" talk, and "face to face".,.,.about 6 feet away at the most. (Watch his eyes, if his eyes constantly shift, glancing, here and there when answering your questions, he is lying)
Make a list of no more than 5 questions, that hits him the hardest about his intentions.
I would not use any words like "lied to me" or things like that, (do not antagonize him) if you do this, "YOU will know who he is and if he just has "cold feet," or "is it something else." Do this "interview, no distractions, no TV, no people around, no music, JUST quite.
I am well.,..,"experienced," and any time I gave one of my two previous wives, the stuff, you are getting, "I WAS always into something I should not be in!
I learned, the hard way with one previous, and was shown the "hard way" by the other, now have a great marriage to a great gal!
We had a beautiful wedding, 100 guests, food entertainment, and all for about 2500.00.,.,., if he, NOT YOU, cannot put that much into it..,follow some of my fellow members suggestions, on how to escape, and start over, I know its hard, I did it, you can to!

My wife and I had our pictures taken just after we bought the engagement ring, and it plainly show "The Three Hearts" a jewelry store, then me down on one knew in SM Mall, with 100 people watching, putting the ring on her finger, very up close pictures of both our hands, both inside the store and outside, and the "big picture" of me looking, stupid.,.,.and kind of embarrassed, but I love her so, it did not matter.
Now, we were able to use this as solid evidence, at the interview, and the officer was impressed with this sequence of pictures.
My gosh, cannot believe I did that in front of hundreds of people.,.,.,.hahahhaha, but "love is blind!"
