  1. Interesting.I thought you went online to schedule interview date. I didn't know they automatically emailed it. The approval is only good for 4 months. Scarey to think it could expire before the interview. But that's mot likely to happen is it? Ours is at nvc. Do I just wait for an email or do I call them?

  2. On the Lagos embassy website it says

Birth certificate... Obtain one birth certificate or age declaration.

Is that really true, I mean has anyone actually used an age declaration instead of a birth certicate? I know there is an age declaration and birth attestation. But I don't know the difference and I don't know if it will suffice as a birth certicate as their website says.

    Anyone know?

  3. Please and thank you.

Q1. National population commission told my fiance they do not issue birth certificates for people over 18. They can only give him an attesstatation of birth that says the birth wasn't registeted which does have parent info on it. The embassy won't accept that will they? He was born in ogun and lives in Lagos. What should he do?

Lol. I forgot my second question. My brain is overloaded with all the stuff I have to be gathering and doing for the interview. I'll post it when it occurs to me again. My thanks to all vj members who have helped us get this far.... By directly answering my questions and also by sharing your own experiences. This site and all of you have been a huge blessing!

  4. I am thankful and giddy. And surprised! I was afraid to open it. Thought it might be an rfe. But it was our noa2! Please if you've gone through this what do we do now? I don't want to get any steps out of order. Wow. This is surreal. I called Julius at work and he let out a loud woo hoo! I kept reading the word "approval" over and over to make sure.

  5. Hi all. After boo hooing about my timeline it changed thank goodness and now it's from April 17 to May 19 for noa2. When do I start gathering all the chats and emails and calls from the time I submitted our k1 petition til the interview? How soon after we get the noa2 should I mail everything to my fiance? If I send them too soon there will be a gap from when he receives it til his interview. But if I wait too long it may not get there in time. I'm giddy.... What should I be doing right now? Thanks everyone.

  6. For you (K1) you will give an updated G325A for petitioner and Beneficiary will be submitting the DS-230 which will have all the updated information.

Thanks. When I mail him the package to take to his interview include the updated g325a?

  7. My fiance and I have both changed jobs since we submitted our k1 petition back in November. Do we need to update the info regarding our jobs (names of employers, addresses of the companies, etc) and if so, when and how? Thanks in advance. Oh... And we are between the stages of noa1 waiting on noa2 @csc.

  8. I think the person asking the question is the beneficiary, right? (People are answering you as if you are the petitioner. But maybe I'm the one reading it wrong.) And you want to know what is the correct Nigerian birth certificate to take to your interview? And also asking if your petitioner needs to mail you their original birth certificate to take with you. I don't know what forum you posted this in because I'm reading it from the portal I belong to but you need answers from people going through the Lagos embassy in Nigeria.
