Ralph and Meghan got a reaction from mallafri76 in Just got married - can he stay here?
Did he did come over to get married? If he did, it's better for him to leave and wait back home in the Netherlands. If there was no intent to get married but it happened he can stay and adjust.
It's all about intent to stay. If you planned the wedding, he quit his job, sold his house, and then came over it doesn't look good for him. If he still has a job, a house etc. it's easier to proof there was no intent to get married and stay. You have to proof there was no intent to stay and if you can you will be fine.
Personally, when you can, play safe let him go home and wait.

Ralph and Meghan got a reaction from hir0 in Background check for jobs?
once you have your ead you can work pretty much anywhere you like and it seem your not afraid to work. Don't be afraid of the background check, mine took about a week and if they where missing something or had a question they contacted me. For example i didn't had a W4 from my temp agency but after they called me and i explained i just started a month ago and in was only a couple weeks they asked me to send the pay stubs instead.
Be honest in front and don't be afraid to ask questions. The company i work for now (and i wouldn't be surprised a lot more companies do the same) hired a company to do the background check and i wasn't first foreigner the worked with. They knew the difference between Europe and the US and even knew what diplomas where for what.

As a U.S. Green Card holder, you do not need a temporary resident visa to travel to Canada. At the Canadian border, you will need to present your valid passport and Green Card.

Total process time for us was 9 months. At that moment it felt way to long. I wanted to be with my wife (then girlfriend) and move on with my life.
Now I'm with my wife for 9 months. And thinking back about the waiting period makes me smile. Its was only 9 months over a life time. It's big when you go through it but when its done you moved to the us and life is going on "trust me" its nothing. You survive and it only will make your bound stronger.
Some people are lucky and get approved within 2 months others have to wait a lot longer. There's nothing really we can do about it.

I'm pretty sure that i had the wrong birth year of my dad filled in and corrected it on the second form. Never had a problem with it. In the worst case you get a RFE and you have to explain the situation.

It said to do a walk-in or request a reschedule. You chose to do the walk-in and never put in a request to reschedule. You are done with biometrics.

Congratz, and a POE with k1 can be very pleasant. I had a very pleasant experience myself. Between landing and holding my fiancee (back then) was 25 minutes. They were very helpful.

Ralph and Meghan got a reaction from Nich-Nick in Re-entering the USA after a 90 day stay?
There is no limit to the number of times you may travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program, and there is no minimum period of time you are required to remain outside the U.S. before returning. If you frequently travel to the United States for lengthy periods under the VWP, however, you should be prepared to demonstrate the purpose of your visit, that you intend to leave the U.S. within 90 days, and that you have sufficient funds to pay for your visit without working. If you are unable to do so, the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection may not be convinced that you are a bona fide visitor for business or tourism and deny your admission.

Ralph and Meghan got a reaction from Tim/Mav in K1 Visa/Tourist Visa
She can apply for a tourist visa while waiting for his K-1 petition to be processed and approved. However, you need to be honest about the fact that the petition has been filed. If you aren't truthful about that, not only could it cause a problem for the tourist visa, it could also impact on the K-1 later on. If she can convince the interviewing officer that he really intends to go for a short visit and return, he can be issued the tourist visa. the fact that he has a fiancee in the US whom he intends to marry and live with is a complicating factor, so she might very well be turned down, precisely because people do frequently attempt to circumvent the fiance process. So, even though you think it's ridiculous, the officer will have seen other people who have done precisely that. But, as long as he's convinced your fiance is different, he can approve the visa.
