    I do not quite understand. Technically, notarized birth certificate is not birth certificate. I am not sure if i can use the photocopy of notarization certificate.

    It's the document that everyone who has gone through this process has used. Photocopy all four pages of the document and send them in with your application. Keep the originals for yourself.

    That's basically it, but you don't necessarily need to be the one to do it. Anyone on your hukou can (and it typically needs to be in your hukou city). When my wife needed hers, we had her dad get it so she wouldn't have to fly back to China. We just had to send him a couple passport photos and her National ID Card. When it's all done, you will have a packet with four pages in a white cover (frequently called a "white book" on these boards). The booklet will have a page in Chinese attesting to your birth and parentage (with your photograph), an English translation of this page, a Chinese page attesting to the credentials and accuracy of the translation, and an English translation of the attestation. You should also see if you can get a copy of your old vaccination records (sometimes called a "yellow book") if you don't have one already.

    thank you very much for your help and your ideas... I didnt know that i should look for "elopement packages". now ill take a time to look it up and plan something.

    My wife and I did an elopement package at a B&B in the Texas Hill Country. It was great, they fed us, officiated the ceremony, made the cake and the place was lovely. We also paid extra for the deluxe package with a couples massage.

    I don't like processed food or some restaurants food because it is litterally soaking in oil/grease.

    Unfortunately I live with my in laws and the mother has never learned to cook properly. She uses a ton of pre made mixes, so in the end, a lot of the flavours are artificial. When I insist on cooking (from scratch and with healthy ingredients) she tells me I shouldn't (treats me like a guest but I'm here to stay with the family for a few months). So now I have my car and go and buy my own food, when she comes back from work, it's ready for everyone to enjoy, but she feels guilty for not preparing the food herself.

    I'm not going to eat ####### just to please her...

    When my father-in-law cooks it's soaking in oil, but apparently that's just what they do in China (he goes through about 2.5 gallons of cooking oil per month).

    Why is that?

    I have cars that I let the insurance expire on for months or even years at a time. I have never seen a difference in price........

    But did you still have some sort of insurance on at least one car? Whenever I look at insurance quotes, one of the questions is something like "Have you ever been without coverage for even a single day?" Having a lapse in insurance puts you in a different risk pool. It certainly does at my insurer (Progressive) where they have discounts based on continuous insurance coverage, even with other insurers.

    They want something that shows that your wife and her grandmother live at the same address and that her grandmother is actually related to your wife in a qualifying relationship. Unfortunately, this means that your wife's grandmother wouldn't qualify to file an I-864A. The instructions say that a "relative" needs to be a spouse, adult child, sibling, or parent. It looks like she would need to file an I-864, not an I-864A.

    The instructions are quite clear in that they state:

    (1) You must declare any and all tickets, detentions, citations, arrests, charges, and convictions, anywhere in the world.

    (2) You do not need to provide documentation of any traffic-related incidents that you were not arrested for and did not involve alcohol or drugs if the end result was a fine of less than $500 and / or points on your driver's licence. You still need to declare these on the N-400 though.

    USCIS isn't in the habit of denying someone naturalisation for the heinous crime of failing to obey a stop sign whilst cycling.

    The specific wording of question 20 in the I-751 states that you can check "No" if your only tickets were for violations of traffic regulations.

    American water is perfectly safe. I sell analytical equipment to environmental testing labs and I know the specifications they have to work to. That having been said, some places have more or less minerals in their water than others (that white powder you see after boiling your water is a mixture of calcium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate). If you find it unpalatable or otherwise troublesome, a water softener might be a good idea. I also don't know where everyone is drinking this hormone filled milk; even the cheap grocery store milk near me comes from hormone free cows. As for fluoridation, it's one of the major public health achievements of the 20th century.

    Mexicans, Dominicans, and Haitians can be of any race, they can be black, white, native, even Asian. That having been said, Haiti is very demographically different from the DR. The DR is a former Spanish colony and is, according to Wikipedia, 73% mixed race, 16% white, and 11% black. Most Dominicans speak Spanish.     To be pendantic, you don't have to do anything to "make" your baby an American citizen. Your baby is an American citizen by virtue of the circumstances of his/her birth, the CBRA just documents this.

    That having been said, the reason for these complications is that Chinese nationality law considers any child born in the PRC to at least one Chinese citizen to be a Chinese citizen and the PRC does not recognize or allow dual-citizenship.

    I had the same thing happen to me. The Post Office delivered the card to the wrong address and washed their hands of the matter even though it was addressed correctly. We ended up paying the replacement fee only to have the misdelivered green card finally bounce to us two months into the process. Unfortunately, USPS screwed up, and you get to deal with the consequences.
