AP can be a variety of things. They could be reviewing your paperwork, doing additional background checks, or just about anything.
I would call the embassy on Monday to verify that you can pick up your passport/visa on Tuesday. When my husband(the fiance) had his interview in 2012(in Tunisia), he too was told he was approved and come back next week to pick up his passport/visa. I made sure he did not buy his plane ticket though, as I knew there was a chance for AP or even with say printing the visa. He went back on the day he was told and sure enough, he was told that sorry you are in AP now, here is your passport. We will call you when you can come back and bring your passport for the visa. It took almost 2 months for them to call him again and this was after us calling everyday to see if there was any news and also calling my senator(which we had done for the petition as it was past normal processing times). If you have already booked your ticket, and you don't have your visa, hopefully you can change the ticket.

What has happened to the "visa process" has the world become so dangerous?
Or is it politically motivated?
Who ever heard of AP 6-8 year years ago?
Ever which way it has been changed, the "visa process" has become a nightmare, for all!
I wish I could offer a word of "all will be fine soon" but the one lady said her fiance was 9 months! I just do not know, is it right or wrong to do this?
Do "they" have their reasons? Maybe yes, maybe no?

At my husbands interview they kept his passport and he was on AP almost 9 months until Visa in Hand.Hard to predict how long it will take, but hopefully your husband won't wait long . We are praying for you

Congratulations on the approval !! however, as far as AP goes, it may take days, weeks or months to hear something... Hopefully that's not the case .... There's multiple threads with this topic of others going through the same thing and unfortunately no one can tell you when you'll get out.. I'm sorry! Hopefully you'll hear something in a few days or weeks

Just when I thought it couldnt get worse
I got an RFE for 1864 at the same time I was able to pay for my IV package. I sent them at the same time in August and the 19th of this month is my 60 days. I just got an email today and I was so excited I thought it was going to be a case complete, but no it was another RFE for the 1864 again! Another one Which means another 60 days I was at work when I got it, and thank God my mom is my boss! I went and cried for maybe an hour! It means my husband will not be with me for the holidays! I am a complete mess and when I called them they told me its, because on a section there should have been a 1 to count myself for my household! BUT THE COMPUTER PUT IT THERE AUTOMATICALLY! Apparently it didnt print that way and she even told me my total number was correct
I am so depressed! I was counting on an arrival in early december and now it looks like February!
I wish they could use my original and attach it to my new one, between the two of them they are correct
Did this happen to anyone and it take less than 60 days for the RFE to go through?

Finally we got out notice to pay! Thank you to everyone who helped! I called yesterday and this afternoon got the emails. I did get a check list
I will have to redo some papers I sent, but I have another question. I got a check list to complete the DS261 again. However, online it shows it completed. Should I go and resubmit (Before was a no no) or is it a false check list?
Thank you everyone!

Aaaand just went through the entire response sheet for my request form and sent PMs to those with errors To those that I can actually get to their profile, since there's some who have errors and others who didn't even provide a valid link For those people, if it's been over a month since their submission, I just removed them as it's pointless keeping their line on there
DO NOT TOUCH YOUR DS-261. What you received is a false checklist based on them reviewing your AOS package.

There have been so many responses to my question that I dont know how to quote that many people in one post.
Sooo to everyone THANK YOU SO MUCH! I appreciate all the help. I have filed out the 1040X and will be sending a copy with my AOS package.

Afrohanfi reacted to Fabian&Rossy in NVC Filers - June 2014
The reason for photocopies is for the embassy to keep the copy and return the original document to the applicant. So I would say yes, include a copy of the new document you're sending.
If you mean the 1040 tax form that your mom submitted to the IRS is showing 52 cents, then yes, copy the exact amount on the I-864. Other people might say to round up but that is because taxpayers are supposed to round up their tax form numbers in the first place. Careful not to use the "total income" from W-2s.
Even if you got married on the last day of the 2013, for tax purposes you're considered married for the entire year. Contact your tax preparer again and get her to file a 1040X asap. Don't let her tell you that you cannot file MFS. Afterwards, you can submit your AOS packet including your complete 2013 tax return with W-2's, 1099's (if applicable) AND your form 1040X showing you amended your filing status.
Good luck!

I have read a great deal from this thread. But I was hoping someone could confirm this information for me. I am not sure if this is what my husband needs to send me.
He needs:
passport photos
birth certificate
police record
copy of his bio page in his passport
our marriage certificate
A document from the court?(I am not sure what this is but I saw it on a page)
PLEASE let me know if I got all of this paperwork correct because I want to make sure he sends me all of the corrct paperwork.
Thank You!

Check out this post, it answers your question http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/441796-faq-case-transfers-to-another-service-center/
basically, the first email you get is the electronic notification, the second is the actual mailing of the physical files to the other office, and the third is when the new Service Center has received the physical files

Afrohanfi got a reaction from THETIMEISNOW in USCIS has turned my marriage into a joke...
My husband and I have known and done the LDR for 5 years. We started this process about two years ago. We have been push and pulled by USCIS for the k-1. Last summer we got married and decided to do the cr-1. But this year has been the hardest on both of us. It feels like I cry myself to sleep more than not.
I am a student so its summer time. Meaning when I can go visit him, but the money is not there how we need it to be. I contemplate moving every day! I just dont know what I would do about my school loans and if I would be able to pick up where I left off when I come back. And I would be coming back with no job. But I am very close to just moving, at least until he has a visa. \
It is the worst feeling its like our lives are on hold. Everyone tells me keep busy, but how is that possible when everything you do is just a reminder that the one you love is not with you. This has been a difficult month!
(We filled cr-1 in September)
