Aem915 reacted to Dana and Divine in ON AP AFTER MY INTERVIEW
I also went to Nigeria alone and the following year, went back and got married alone. No one in my family went to Nigeria at anytime with me...not even for the interview!
With that being said, I did address the lack of family being present due to cost. I also stated we planned to marry again in the states and so did my mother, sister and cousin in Affidavits in which they wrote TO: USCIS, NVC and Consulate Officer, that in May 2010 when I met my husband, they thought I was just having a readjustment, just got divorce "written fling" with a Nigerian Man online. That the following year when I went to visit him, they seriously thought of having me committed and forbade me to leave the country!
When I returned home in one piece and healthy as a horse with photo's of me and the love of my life, they could finally see that he was "for real", very trust worthy, hard working, family oriented and very loving. They began speaking with him when he called. The following year, they were helping me plan a wedding, helping me pack for the journey, sending gifts to the family and escorting me to the airport with their blessing....
But the CO would have never known any of this, if they hadn't written it down.
My mothers last words in the letter to the CO. Divine will be very welcome to our family and my daughter has the right to live her life as she sees fit. She is strong and the bravest woman I know. I fully support my daughter decision.

By His grace we have been given our visa. My fiance called me at 1:30am and yelled into the phone, "WE HAVE MADE IT!" Nothing feels better than this victory in which, the outcome could have gone any other way. I have been so worried, so sick with worry. Thank you to all fellow VJer's for your prayers, for your words of comfort, and for your FAITH. God has done this for us, we tried to help HIM as much as we could with preparation, but God had the final say and I am so thankful.

Aem915 reacted to VanessaTony in dragging feet to come to the US
What a lot of people don't know is rkk1 has posted MANY times about her husband. The gist of it is this:
- He will NOT help her with household finances once he's here and earning in US currency. He said he will send it all home to care for his family
- At one time, with the tax refund, he demanded she send him a portion seeing it was thanks to him that she got so much of a return (there was a lot more to this, with him constantly changing amounts and trying to use emotional blackmail on her)
- She was pressured to marry him and wasn't ready at the time (from her previous posts) but she's trying to make it work because of family pressure.
There are many previous posts of rkk1 which show severe issues in the relationship. I have no doubt she is being used, that his delay is due to getting the 10 year card so he doesn't need her anymore, or something else nefarious.

Not knowing your history, I'm afraid that it sounds like you may have married too soon before knowing his priorities, culture and personal believes. Are you sure this is the behavior you want to put up with for the rest of your married life together?

OP - I keep reading your posts for a while and very honestly can't believe you haven't file for divorce long time ago. Sorry - that's how I see it. Find husband that truly cares about you - from your posts I can tell you're truly worth it.

Aem915 reacted to LIFE'SJOURNEY in dragging feet to come to the US
People stop confusing the OP,
They are waiting to submit the last documents, i.e PC, and etc. Husband will need his passport for the interview, which he doesn't have yet because husband is dragging his feet. Hubby probably knows more about the immigration process than those who are questioning the OP. He is waiting on the 2 year marriage mark, he knows he will get a 10 year GC when he enters the US.
It looks as if hubby has a plan, which in the end maynot be including you. You have been given plenty of advise and opinions on your previous post. The ball is in your court, only you can play the ending of this.
Good luck.

Husband starts monday of a do over of collecting all the dang IV BILL packet. NVC Immigration you should be liable that you are having people put most vital proprietary information in mail whether it be postal or otherwise should not matter. You put our own cases in diplomatic pouches but you expect us the regular CITIZEN to do this.
Newsflash its 2012 why the HELL isn't EVERY country Electronic Processing. You would cut down alot of unnecessary cost that you don't get. I swear I am sitting here shaking my head.
Just sad in a way but yet happy for the delay weird huh. Iwell for my AOS makes my new job look better and better in 3 months I have surpassed the poverty guideline woooo whooo)

Aem915 reacted to PSM in DENIED
I have an UPDATE. My fiance was contacted by the embassy by phone around 4pm. They called him, blocked number, it was a man. He said that he was sorry about today and they are going to generate a new interview date for him to come back in. The "system" will print it off and it will be mailed to him, he should receive his new appointment date letter within 2 weeks. He said that he will need to return with more proof and bring more pictures. Make sure to write the dates on them. He said just bring pictures and it does not necessarily have to be pictures of us together, it could be ones of me alone at my house that I send to him. He does not have to do any of the forms or fees again; only pictures or proof. I do not understand and I do not get it, but hey, at this point, we will take anything they want to give us. So now, more waiting...

Aem915 reacted to pushbrk in Changing wife's passport to married name
Short answer. Change the name in the Passport ASAP. Ask for the police clearance in both names.
The visa will be issue in the passport name. If you filed in the married name, just think of that as her "current name" and get all her ID current. The foreign spouse's passport is not needed at the petition stage, so it doesn't matter that you sent a copy of the one in the maiden name. Long term, you're wise to change the passport name ASAP. It will be much more difficult to change the name after the visa is issued.

Aem915 reacted to Eric-Pris in K-1 denied :(
First off, did you even read the instuctions to the I-129F petition? It clearly states that one of the requirements is that you must have met (physically) at least once within the past 2 years. You should never have filed in the first place. They didn't even look at any evidence you sent them once they saw that you had never met. I can't imagine what kind of proof you sent in for somebody you've never met. Most of us who met our fiancees usually has sme worries about having enough proof, but never meeting?
Nigeria is one of the top fraud countries. I assume you are now aware of this fact and you would still attempt to bring over a person who you have never met? I know you believe all that "God knows best" stuff, but you are setting yourself up big time. You seem to be a perfect mark; somebody who seems to be somewhat naive and blindly accepts whatever happens. If this guy plays you, you will probably be here telling us how it was God's plan.
How did you meet? Who made the first contact?
What kind of work does he do? Have you seen any proof? (I will not give my opinion on what I think he does for a living; yes, it's a generalization, but lets be real)
What is the age difference between you two? Are you fairly close in age or is he much younger? If the latter, that should be a red flag for you.
I already know that nothing anybody here says will change your mind (most people have to learn the hard way), especially since you think God will protect you, but I hope you are not back here in a year teling us how you were used.
