Yow bro, theres a saying never eat rice when its hot, You are not going to make a good decision if its rush,
as a marrieed man myself I cant even begin to imagine going thru that, I myself have never stepped out on the wife and lord
knows many temptations have came my way but I just cant be that kind of chink, and I dont expect that from her either, now u
say you love your wife...it may be hard but consider counseling, I know many here will tell you walk away while they have
cheated too due to seperations, this longing and nurturing causes some to falter which is no excuse. Dude dont punish yourself
with details... if you love her try starting to 4give, life is short and if a person wants forgiveness you can try to, god
forgives us everyday and we still keep doing wrongs, this she did with a married man, so maybe she was not looking a relationship
just stupid comfort, hang in there , you both speak to an expert, do not get bitter..............this too will passed ..peace out ma man.

I am so sorry this is happening to you. You have both been through so much to get the visa and now he appears to be backing out. You are doing the right thing to think this out very carefully.
How long has it been sense you last saw each other in person? That could have something to do with his cold feet. I would go meet with him in person and try to work this out. I wouldn't try to force him or beg him to marry me if I were you. That would only make him resent you.
If he decides that he really doesn't want to marry you I would fly back home and move on with my life. I would forget about him and find someone else. People can play with your feelings and have you hanging on for years with the promise that someday they might marry you.
I know you love this man with all your heart. If he is not going to marry you, he should tell you face to face. You deserve that.

You will really not be able to register online once you don't have yet your interview date. Even one single portion that is blank, you cannot do the appointment. Regarding your question, yes you can. Just make sure to be there early since you will come there as "walk-in applicant". You will fill up the form there already in SLEC. Just bring the following: Passport, copy of your NOA2 (or email from USCIS), your case number (email from NVC will do) and the requirements needed for the medical. (slec.ph). visit SLEC's website for it. Be reminded also that the medical has expiration date. I suggest just do it once your case is completed na in NVC. But it's up to you. All the best!

I should say, that this journey has proven us how good we are when it comes to waiting game. LOL Yup we got our visa approved today! So excited. Our interview process wouldn't run that smoothly if not without VJ. Thank you guys so much for all the help and information you've shared. Its greatly appreciated
I also want to share what took place at the embassy today so at least you'll have a visual of what it'll be like on the day of your interview. Hope it helps.
So my appointment is Aug 28th at 7:30am. I arrived at the embassy together with my friend on VJ, Jhed (kikyara) around 4:30am. Aware that its the first working day of the week, we chose to get in there early rather than be stuck with traffic and arrive in stressed.LOL As expected, lots of people are already lining up for the 6:30am schedule. So we lined up and patiently waited until 6:45am and the guard instructed us that we can now enter at the embassy grounds.
First Step ( DS FORMS )
    > Prepare your DS forms. 2 copies of DS 156 and DS 157 and 1 copy of DS 156K.
    > Include your interview appointment letter just 1 copy.
    Surrender your passport.
    > The staff will just organize the forms that you gave, put a sticker at the back of your passport and give you a clean zip lock.
    > You will be instructed to put your passport inside the zip clock with bio page open.
Second Step ( SECURITY CHECK )
    > Once done organizing your DS stuff, you can proceed to the x-ray machine and they have to scan your bags and folders, everything you have with you including yourself.lol
    > Cellphones, electronic devices, flash drives, chargers, cameras, mp3s, video cam, anything that could could store any information into is a no no. I mean one day of sacrifice without looking who texted or called you wouldn't hurt right? Otherwise, you need to find a way how to get rid of it.
    > Food and Drinks are not allowed. Candies are ok.
Step Three ( RELEASING OF NUMBERS )
    > Their number system is random. It doesn't mean that if you were the first one on the line outside the gate, you're the first one to finish.
    > So after security check, you have to fall another line where you need to drop your DS Forms to one of the booths and you will be given your number.
    > I got 6092. Keep the number cuz this will be your reference from beginning til end.
    > They will give the DS Forms back to you and your passport. They give out fast instructions so stay focused and listen actively.
Step Four ( ANOTHER SECURITY CHECK )
    > I know, they're scared of bombs.hehe
    > Just got to turn left from the booth where you came from, walk a little and you will see another entrance at the far left and there are staff giving out instructions so just be quick.
    > All you need to do is just go thru another security check machine.
    > One staff is awaiting ready to receive your DS Forms and will drop it to your Lucky Consul.
    > You'll be instructed to seat and wait for your number to flash on the screen with designated window.
Step Five ( STARING GAME )
    > So after long hours of standing outside, we finally able to take a seat around 7:00am.
    > We've been staring at the big red screen almost the entire time cuz we don't want to miss our number. Its random, so you'll never know what number is next. Just got to be attentive.
    > By 8:20am, my number 6092 Flashed. Yay! @ Window 43.
    Step Six ( BIOMETRICS )
    > I got to speak to a Chinese looking lady, with chinese accent but speaks good english, I guess she's the same person were talking about here on VJ.LOL
    > She asked me my Name and Date of Birth.
    > Scanned my left four fingers and my right four fingers and finally my left and right thumbs. If one of your fingers are missing, don't worry, there's an assistant at your left ready to help.hehe
    > Now I'm instructed to go back to seat and wait for my number to be flashed on the screen. ( I would say that's one of their best closing spiel. hehe )
***So I went back to sit and here comes the Long wait, nice Staring Game Huh.LOL
Step Seven ( INTERVIEW WITH A FILIPINO OFFICER )
    > By 9:30am, my number flashed again and showed Window 56.
    > I faced a Filipina officer, chubby, in her 40's, looks a little serious and polite at the same time. But she grilled me a bit. haha I got off her grip nice and smooth tho. Just got to answer the questions straight to the point.
    > So here are her questions:
    1. What's my name and date of birth.
    2. What's my fiance's name and his work.
    3. How did we meet?
    4. How many times he visited. When was his first time and his latest.
    5. Have I traveled abroad? Now that took me a long time to close this case cuz I don't have any police clearance with me. So I told her that, not exactly traveled, but worked instead. I told her how long and had to explain why our ship can't stay within the country premises and had to go to International Waters before we start the operation. She had me explain why International Waters and Stuff. Basically its a muslim country and the ship I was working before is a Casino Ship and they don't allow the operation until the ship reaches the International Waters. So it took her a long time and had to ask her coworker about the case and concluded that mine doesn't need Police Clearance at all. HA! She didn't do her homework I thought.hahaha
    6. She also asked me to give her my fiance's I-134, ITR, W2, CENOMAR, BIRTH CERTIFICATE, NBI, BPI RECEIPT. She only took the 2011 ITR but better have the last three years of it and I also prepared My Fiance's employment letter and New Letter of Intent but she didn't ask for it. Better have something extra than nothing at all. And also she asked me to show her some of our PICTURES, EMAILS/CHATS/CARDS. She just "browsed" on it a couple times and gave it back to me.
    > And told me to wait for my number to flash on the screen.
Step Eight ( INTERVIEW WITH CHINESE AMERICAN CONSUL )
    > I waited and waited and waited and some of my friends have been called to speak to the consul and got approved and my number hasn't flashed yet. Seriously, I started shaking. Shaking becuz its cold and I'm hungry and nervous at the same time.LOL
    > By 11:45am my number flashed! woohoo Finally @ Window 63.
    > I think this guy is already familiar on VJ. He speaks good english BUT he doesn't need translator.LOL He can say the oath in Tagalag. I think he gets a nice pay with that kind of skill.LOL
    > After answering Yes on their famous oath, He asked me these questions.
    1. What's my name and my birthday.
    2. What's my fiance's name.
    3. So have you met between Feb 2011 and Feb 2012? And I thought, ya we did, so I said, yes.lol
    4. And you also traveled abroad? And I explained again, hoping it wouldn't be as tough as to the previous officer. And yup he didn't give me hard time.
    5. So you are aware the you need to marry within 90 days?
    6. When you do plan to marry?
And then he said everything looks good. I THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND WAIT FOR YOU NUMBER TO FLASH ON THE SCREEN. And I said Thank you.
I left the window with a confused face.haha I don't know if it was approved or do I need to pass another set of evidence, I don't know. I was a little worried. Some people are rejoicing cuz they heard the consul say, welcome to the US, you are approved. And I went back to my seat and told myself, let's see what happens next then. I don't want to stress myself anymore.haha
So I waited hoping to speak to the releasing office before lunch time but it looks like they've closed the windows, so we were told to eat lunch and go back at 1pm. My friends were done but they're nice enough to wait for me
I went back at 1PM, waited a little bit and then saw my number flashed, Window 72. He was a Filipino guy. Rude. I don't like his customer service skills but oh wells. He said "so you're approved, do you want home delivery or pick up?" I asked how long will it take for a home delivery? and he was making face "no timeframe, wait for 2go's text" and turned his back at me. It got my blood back to boiling cuz I asked him nicely but oh wells, they're the people "in-charge" so I left the building and hoping I could get in two weeks time.
What I know is that the Visa is going to be mailed and I am approved.
There might be some errors we have a long the way, but were thankful that we have VJ and friends to ask help from. Thanks again guys! My fiance and I will be together very soon

I am thinking of bringing her here on a visitors visa to get treatment here in the US and a second opinion a lot of the medical there in the Philippines leaves a lot to be desired as we know. During her time here I think I will use it to get to know her completely. I don't care she has it and I want to get her the best treatment possible. When the guy first told her she would not talk to me for a week because she said she thought I would not love her anymore, I told her she was stuck with me! LOL I told here if it did make it where she could not come here I would move there to the Philippines to be with her. She is the light of my life. I have started filling out the K 1 paperwork and when she gets here after a month or two we will try to file for the k1. I know it is possible it could be denied but that is a chance I have to take to get her proper treatment. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone! I just want to share my Medical Examination Experience at St. Lukes Extension Medical Center Clinic..

MEDICAL DAY 1 - PAYMENT, BLOOD & URINE TEST, XRAY, EYE, WEIGHT, VITAL, HEIGHT & PHYSICAL EXAM
I woke up at 6:30am and I feel kinda sleepy coz I sleep past 12 midnight. I brought my sterilized milk so that I can drink it while im on the way to St. Lukes Extension Medical Center Clinic at Bagobo St. Ermita Manila. I know it will be a great help as i take my xray exam later.
    I brought the ff:
    Appointment Letter (email form NVC)
    Passport
    2x2 Picture (white bacgrkound)
    P10,241.00 Medical Fee
Water and sterilized milk (Bear Brand)
I really don't know the exact place since it was my first time also to go to the said clinic. I just prayed that GOD will guide and keep me safe especially its raining. Big Hassle! Also, I haven't ask my dad about the directions since he is very familiar in Manila but since I'm also familiar in Taft area - its not really a problem for me. Anyways, my mom cooked some breakfast for us (for the first time again lol ) since it was also my brother's first day on his class.
I left the house at past 8am and I took an MRT from Santolan to Recto (P15) and then after Recto, I take a walk along this over pass(it was a long over pass and you can view the squatters area). And then I took another LRT from Doroteo San Jose to United Nations (P12).
I was already in UN but I dont know where the Clinic is until I ask this police and he doesn't know also thats why he asked another guy and he told me that SLEC is at the back of Philam Life Building and I just need to turn left. So, instead of riding a tribike (which will cost me P30) I just take a walk until I reached the PHILAM Bldg. In front of PHILAM is PAGCOR Casino Filipino. After that, I turned left and I thought that the clinic is already there so I asked the candy vendor where the SLEC is and he told me to walk until I reached the Barrio Fiesta and once I get there I can view the SLEC bldg.
When i was already in Barrio Fiesta, I can see a number of people outside the bldg. waiting for their relatives to finish their medical. I saw this mini restaurant or carinderia in front of the clinic and you can also see that there's a xerox machine of the said carinderia. I photocopy my passport and NBI and since I forgot my pen, I have no choice but to buy a new one (there's 3 to 5 vendors who are selling ballpen for P10 infront of the entrance door of the clinic)..
The guard asked me if its my first day, I said yes and then he gave me some forms which is the evaluation form, application form and the instruction. He asked my passport and appointment letter and he told me to fill up the form inside and once finished, give it to the receptionist. He stamped my right hand.
    STEP 1
After I fill up the form, I gave it to the Reception Area (Ground floor) and she told me to go to the room (this is
in the reception area also) because I need to take a digital picture and encoding of date through my
index finger. I just need put my index finger on the red button then tap it slowly (four times) and you can see it
in the computer anyways. After that, the lady told me to go to 5th Flr. for payment.
    STEP 2
I went to the Cashier's Area (once the elevator is already in the 5th Flr. you just have to turn left and that's where the cashier is). I paid the medical fee which costs P10,241.00. then the cashier told me to go to 4th Flr. for blood and urine test. In every floor, there's a reception area where you need to give your papers and you just have to wait for your name to be called.

    STEP 3
On the 5th floor, I gave my papers to the receptionist and after 2-3 minutes, the lady called my name and told me to go to the Extraction Area(same floor). So, I went there and a guy assisted me and I took a blood test for HIV then after that he told me to go to the Urine test area(same floor). A lady assisted me and she told me to put my things on the chair then she gave me a
small cup for my urine. It was a good timing bcoz I want to pee also! lol Then after that, I gave the cup to the lady and she told me to wait again. After 2 minutes, she gave me my umbrella and asked if its mine and I said yes and thanks! hehe..
Ok, then after that she told me to go to 3rd Flr to take an Xray Exam... So i went down on the said floor and I got the chance to meet some Filipina who is also taking their medical exam.. The process is kinda fast thats why we weren't able to talk for that long so I went inside the changing room, changed my tshirt and wear the xray gown. Then i proceed to the Xray Room and the lady told me to put my things on the chair and she gave me a heavy square bag while im having the xray exam - its really odd and i think this is to test more of your lungs thats why they want us to carry this heavy bag. While taking the xray, the lady told me to inhale then exhale. On this part, I didn't inhale that much hehehe..(My friend told me not to inhale that much) but it just bothered me coz i was carrying this heavy square bag and I asked the lady, What's this?! and she said, there's a magic in there..lol I was like hmm.. ok. So after that she told me to go to 5th floor for an Eye test and Physical Examination.
    STEP 4
I went up to the 5th floor and I gave my papers to the USA counter area.. Remember, there's two counter/receptionist on the 5th floor . On the left side you can see a counter for the coutries of Australia/New Zealand and Canada and on the right side, there's the counter for USA.
So, I gave my papers to the counter area then she told me to wait for my name to be called. After 5 minutes, a guy called my name and he told me to take off my socks to check my weight.. He said to face the audience (I was lil shy coz there's lot of people waiting and you know looking at me haha) and I was smiling and then I said I'm underweight and he replied, your just slim. hehehe..He said to wait again for my name to be called.
After 2 minutes, a lady called my name to check my blood pressure and I told her, do i still have blood? hahaha she said, lets see lol.. My blood pressure was 110/70 and I asked her if its normal, she replied yes it is. Yehey! I thought i'm anemic.. So again, she told me to wait for my name to be called.. Then, after 2 - 3 minutes one of the medical staff (guy) told me to go to the Eye Test Room. As i entered, a doctor asked me if im wearing contact lens or eyeglasses - obviously i'm wearing eyeglasses and he checked it. He started to ask me about the alphabet letters in front of me which i really can't read especially the small ones..He also asked me if i have period, i said no... Then after that, he told me to give the paper to the receptionist again..
    STEP 5
The waiting time is kinda long because I've waited like 20 minutes for the physical examination. I got my number (24) and while waiting I got the chance again to talk to some fellow Filipina about their visas, how & where did they met their husbands and their interview dates... It was a cool talk (we forgot to ask each others name lol) until each one of us has to go inside the room for physical test.. And then it was my turn, I went inside the room and a lady doctor asked me a few questions about my health.

    These are the folliowing questions:
    What is your name
    How old are you
    When was your last period
Did you take any illegal drugs
Are you pregnant / have you been pregnant before
    Are you sexually active
Are you allergic to any medicine or foods
Do you have TB or is there anyone in your house who has TB
    Do you smoke
Do you have cancer or diabetes
    Did you any operation before
After I answer all those questions, she told me to sign the paper stating that i am telling the truth.. Then after that, she told me to read the instructions posted at the wall and it says please take off your clothes and your socks. I take off my clothes and socks and I asked her if i need to wear the robe - she said yes.
She told me to lay down at the bed and she put her fingers on my chest checking my heartbeat, then she told me to put
my hands up in my head then after that she told me to bend my legs and open it then she checked my precious one lol. She also check my wrist. And after that, then she told me to stand up and she checked my ear and she asked If I had an operation on my ear before.. I said no. Then she told me to wear my clothes.. While im taking my clothes on, she also asked me if my I have false teeth... After that, she told me to give the paper to the receptionist..
I gave the papers to the receptionist and the lady told me to go down to 2nd Floor at the vaccination room.. The doctor
called my name and she asked me if I had my previous chickenpox (bulutong). I said yes, and she said tell me where you scar is? I told her, I cant since i got my chicken pox when i was elementary.. She also asked about my last period and then she told me that I will take my vaccinations for Anti Cervix Cancer, Anti Tetano, Anti Measles and Anti chicken pox . I thought I'm going to take my shots on that day but it wasn't.. So after that she just told me to give the papers to the Checkout Counter.
I gave my papers to checkout counter including the Evaluation form and the guy returned my passport and reciept. He told me to go back again tomorrow for the vaccinations and for the results..

MEDICAL DAY 2 - VACCINATIONS AND RELEASING OF RESULTS
I woke up at 12:30noon even though the checkout counter told me to go back at 10am...So, I went to SLEC again past 2pm afternoon then i gave my passport and receipt to the guard and he check my data from the computer. He told me, did you take your digitial photo yesterday? I guess you didn't coz your picture is not here in the computer.. I replied, I did! He stamped my hand and then he told me to go to 2nd Flr for vaccination.. STEP 1
I gave my passport and receipt to the guard since there's no medical staff. He then gave my passport and receipt to the medical staff inside the room and I've waited like 20 - 30 minutes. There's a few people who are also waiting for their vaccination. While waiting, I was talking to my husband over the phone using YM hehe just to clear off the boredom lol..
After the long wait, a guy called my name over the mic and i went inside the vaccination room. I sit down and the medical staff asked me some questions like, When is the first day of your last period, are you allergic to any medicine or food? He gave me 2 papers - Evaluation form I told him I already filled up the evaluation form yesterday and he said its a different one. He also gave me the lists of the symptoms to observe after I take my vaccination.
He started to give me 2 shots on the right arm and then the 2 shots on the left. The last shot is the anti cervix cancer which is kinda pain but before that the guy asked me if im left handed or right handed.. I am right handed so he shot the anti cervix cancer on my left arm. Ouch! So, after all those tiny needles entered into my veins... The guy told me to go to the Ground floor and wait for my name to be called for the releasing of results..
It took almost 40 minutes and many of us are also waiting for their results.. So while waiting - I bought some snacks because i started to feel the hunger.. It was already 6 in the evening too!
After the long wait....... a guy called my name while I was talking to some fellow Filipina then i go to Counter B and the guy started to ask my name and the first day of my last period. He asked me if I got pregnant before and i said never been preggy.
He gave me the cd (xray result - he never told me not to open it), vaccination document worksheet and my receipt.
He told me, your passport will be forwarded to USEM including the vaccination document worksheet. He also said that my interview date is on June 16, 2009.
On the vaccination document worksheet, he told me that I need to follow up the 2 shots that was given to me which is Varicella and Human Papillomavirus to a private clinic. I asked him, can i do that here in St. Lukes - he replied its too expensive here.. Better go to a private clinic for another shots.. He also told me that I need to take another shot in USA which is the Td or Tdap - he encircle it and put USA on the paper..
Whew! Finally the day is over and I can go home but gosh it was rainy outside.. I really want to go home since my left arm is in pain also..
Anyways, thats all folks..I hope you enjoy my medical experience.. btw, I will post some pictures inside the clinic....I tried to take some pics but since its not really allowed and its kinda akward lol.. This is the only pictures that i've stolen.. lol

I did a little bit of online research to find out more about this certificate. Interestingly, you as the foreigner cannot apply for it. Your wife has to apply for it in the Philippines after the divorce is final. Basically, it means that the Philippines Judicial system reviews the divorce, verifies that it is legal under the laws of the land in which it occurred, verified that the foreigner was the one who applied for and obtained the divorce, and then officially accepts it as a legal document in the Philippines. Since the foreign partner is not the one who gains a benefit from this recognition but only the Philippines partner, the Philippines partner is the only one who is allowed to apply for it.

lawren14 got a reaction from Tahoma in Advice in getting an NBI clearance w/ AKA
I know it has been discussed on some threads already but since I haven't read about where to get an NBI clearance that has to have an AKA, I opted to go to a satellite branch near our area and I got nothing... They told that they don't print clearances w/ AKA's. For what reason? Well, they just told me " SOrry we don't have that here, we can't do it, you have to go to the NBI main office." Duh?! I waited in line for like 3 hrs and get disappointed. So to those who needs to have AKA on their NBI clearance, GO TO THE MAIN OFFICE. Its much better to be sure than take chance and be sorry. Main office is quite nice anyway... And don't forget to tell the typist on the 2nd floor your concern regarding the AKA. Most of them tend to IGNORE it despite of it being written on the form. When I was getting mine, the typist skipped the space for the AKA and when I told her that I need my previous name written on the AKA, she gets annoyed. But I remained polite, i don't wanna act RUDE, I don't wanna be LIKE HER! So anyways, she did as I told her though she gives me that "annoyed look", but the hell I care, I don't need her to like me, I just need my clearance! hehehe.. So then, I was fortunate enough to get through that stage but not lucky enough to get my NBI clearance on that same day. It is to be released on Friday. I hope this will be the last time i'll get an NBI clearance. So to those who are in the same situation as mine, good luck!!
And oh, before I forget.. Wearing of slippers are not allowed in the main office but sandals are okay. Don't believe the shoe vendors outside the office if they tell you you wont be able to enter the premises if you're wearing sandals. they just want you to buy shoes from them.. Again, slippers are not allowed BUT SANDALS ARE OKAY. You might want to dress appropriately so you wont have any problems. Ciao!

I take it you are a FIlipina by the way it sounds and if you are you had better get the A.K.A. for your NBI or the Consular Officer will send you back to get it. Any names that you have used, especially if they are a matter of record will require the A.K.A. Don't listen ti tthe BS that the NBI people will tell you. You just tell them that the US Embassy requires it becasue you have used the name and they should add it on the NBI clearance as an A.K.A., Thaey typ it on the bottom of the form and use your real name, birth name, as the main name on it. Hope this helps you. Believe me, don't le NBI tell you you don't need it, you tell them you need it and if they refuse speak to a superior at the NBI. I would also get Cenomars with the different names also. Good luck.

    Hi Kat and Brett,
I took some time off today to process my NBI Clearance at Robinson's Mall in Ortigas. It would be best if you process your required documents as early as now to avoid cramming since it would take a year for it to expire. Altho it took me 4years to renew it and 4mos from the time we sent in our I-129, but I'm glad I had today to take care of it I had a "hit" tho, so got to wait another 10 business days for me to get my copy. I need to go back on July 9th to get it.
Oh and tips for you btw..Wherever you plan to get your NBI Clearance, make sure that you arrive their as early as 5am. Lots of people have been waiting on the line when I got there. You don't want to come at 8am or else you will be scheduled the next day, lucky if you can make it in the afternoon. Oh yes..you have to wait from 5am til 9am until they give you a number and have to wait for the mall to open at 10am. Make sure you bring something to eat and drink and something that will keep you occupied while waiting. I'm glad I had enough patience today.
No more renewal for NBI Clearances. Everything is considered as new applicants. So just bring two valid id's and payment and that's it. Once they start the process it wouldn't take you an hour to finish it.
    I hope this information helps.

lawren14 got a reaction from Darnell in divorced in US but marriage not annuled in Philippines
All I know is, if your USC boyfriend was once married here in the Phil, and had that marriage broken through a divorce in the US, and was NOW granted, he can file for a K1 visa for you. K1 only needs the both of you to be LEGALLY FREE TO MARRY IN THE US and not in the Philippines. Your petitioner is a USC and he's under the US law and not the Philippine law. It doesn't matter if he and his wife got married here in the Phil. As long as he's divorced now, that's okay. There will be a problem if its you (the beneficiary) whose married. We have consulted it already with a lawyer that's why I know. You and your fiance might want to seek professional help for assurance. It will give you peace of mind..

lawren14 reacted to 09sno in K-1 Visa Denial/Approval, Lagos, Nigeria
(Background: I am Nigerian-American, born and raised here in the states. I\'ve traveled back and forth to Nigeria to see my dad\'s family several times. My fiance is Nigerian).
Our first Lagos experience was awful. My fiancé arrived for his interview yesterday, February 13th, 2012 with 3lbs of documentation: his K-1 visa forms, evidence of financial support, and most importantly, a large and bulky folder filled with evidence proving the authenticity of our relationship. Bulky yes, but neatly arranged and ordered too.
However, the officer refused to view the entire contents of our Evidence of Personal Relationship folder during the extremely short interview and, after requesting that my fiancé only pass her our photos together (Sept. 2009-March 2010; August 2011-September 2011) and extensive phone records detailing calls made several times a day, every day from May 2010-February 2012, she denied him a visa due to “lack of evidence.” She didn\'t ask him anything about me! I can understand if she made her decision after allowing him to pass the remaining contents of our evidence in smaller portions (to fit through the glass slot). It’s unfortunate, but it would mean that despite our preparation, something of significance was missing. Yet, when she requested the photographs and phone records my fiancé immediately asked if he could pass her the remaining documents. The officer refused, saying “That’s not necessary,” before proceeding to print the 221(g) letter. Also, her dismissive behavior—she never made eye contact with my fiancé, she simply flipped haphazardly through documents, not appearing to even read our new evidence—suggests she had already made up her mind to dismiss us before he got there.
My plane tickets from my most recent trip, August 22nd-September 11th, 2012, were in the evidence she refused to see. Explanation of why we chose to marry in the U.S. as opposed to Nigeria (which we could have easily done this past August during my 3 week stay with his family) was there too. Phone records, photographs, proof of marriage preparation, copies of passport visa stamps, ticket stubs, 70+ pages of email/facebook correspondence screenshots (it would have been 300 pages otherwise), etc—this is the evidence listed on the U.S. consulate website. This is what he carried with him. But we were denied, with a recommendation for revocation.
Immediately, that same morning my fiance gave me the horrible news, we sprang into action. I called my state\'s congressman and was sent back and forth until I finally got an answer. I also called all the gov\'t agencies: NVC, USCIS, the Lagos Consulate, and I emailed them to respectfully demand a full explanation as to what why we were denied. If we lacked evidence, then what was it? Our congressman was freaking amazing. He was constantly trying to get consular officials to tell us in writing how/why they made their decision. And it worked I copied the letter from a high up consular official down below. It\'ll definitely help those of you who are still preparing.
Amazingly, 2 wks later, my fiance got a call from the embassy. They asked him to bring his passport and return to the embassy. He asked if he should prepare more documents and was told no. But we were wary. According to our congressman, it looked like the adjudicating officer for our case was being reviewed...and because she couldn\'t exactly demonstrate without a doubt that my fiance deserved a denial, her superiors were calling us back! Even though the calling officer said to only bring the passport, my fiance and I prepared our documents/evidence again. Indeed, it was another interview; if we had not have prepared our evidence again, we would have looked so suspiciously unprepared. With another officer, my fiance joked and shared stories about our relationship and my friends, where I worked, what I did, what I hoped to do, what we did together during our visits, our marriage plans, etc. And he was immediately approved!!
Also, it\'s obvious that a lot of consular officers have made up their minds BEFORE you even walk in the door. Our problem was that the first officer only saw our original submission from May 2011 and consequently, did not see our new evidence from June 2011 through February 2012, including my 3 wk trip to Ibadan to see him. I was going to mail the new evidence to the NVC or consulate, but was told by a USCIS official that my fiance should just bring it to the interview. Yeah...that didn\'t work too good. But our nightmare\'s over! I\'m just waiting to be reunited with the most amazing husband to be!

    Consulate Letter To Congressman
    Dear Mr. M-----,
My apologies for the delay in responding to you. I asked our Immigrant Visa unit to review Mr. A--- case and was unfortunately out of the office when the reply came in. To address your questions, we find that applicants are sometimes under the impression that qualifying for an immigrant visa is simply a matter of submitting documents, but obviously there is also an analytical component to the process. For example (and without reference to this case in particular), our officers often review phone records, photos and correspondence as part of their efforts to determine whether a genuine relationship exists between the petitioner and beneficiary. There are many cases where phone records show a plausible volume of phone calls, but the calls are all of only one or two minutes’ duration. With photos, if they are evidence of only a single visit or if they appear posed or altered, that would understandably be something the officer would need to consider. A large volume of correspondence would in general be consistent with a genuine relationship, but there may be a concern in instances where it appears to be primarily focused, as it sometimes is, on immigration and the visa process.
With respect to this case, the adjudicating officer reviewed the case notes and agreed to offer Mr. A---- another interview. Our staff contacted Mr. A---- on February 28 and scheduled him for April 4, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Mr. A---- should come prepared to answer questions about his relationship with Ms. O-----. He should present documentation that demonstrates substantive communication over the course of the relationship; however please bear in mind that documentation alone is not satisfactory to demonstrate the validity of the relationship to the Consular officer. The applicant must also demonstrate such through his ability to speak about the petitioner’s life and interests.
I hope this information is helpful in responding to the concerns of your constituent. Please feel free to contact us again if you require further assistance.
    Regards,
    Consular Officer

You are really missing it you keep thinking they plan to live in the Philippines it seems. You don't have to be a USC for a divorce to legal in the United States, and being the Petitioner is USC ... the US Embassy is not going give a a rat's butt about what the Philippines thinks about his divorce. The divorce was finalized before the USC petitioner filed the I-129F and that is all that matters. The Philippines does not have jurisdiction over the USC or his divorce, he is not appling for a marriage license in the Philippines, he is petitioning for a K-1 visa to bring his finacee to the UNITED STATES and marry in the UNITED STATES... you tell me where Philippine law has any jurisdiciton over a USC in this matter. The OP is the Beneficiary and she will have to get a CENOMAR from NSO but then.... .she is NOT married and IS subject to Philippines laws on that matter. NSO does not get updated unless they choose to record their marriage in the Philippines, which is totally optional.

lawren14 reacted to NinJones in St. Luke’s Medical Exam Walkthrough
Hello all! I want to share this walkthrough I made regarding the medical exam I just took at St. Lukes. I hope this will help anybody in anyway.
I thought of creating this during my 2-day medical appointment, taking notes every step of the way and sketching floor plans in between waiting time. I know that there had been a few written about one’s medical experience at SLMCEC and as much as it helped me prepare and be aware of the whole scenario, I wanted to share something more comprehensive.
But please be reminded that everything here is based on my own experience and someone else’s procedures may vary. All went well on my medical so I assume this is within the typical flow of the whole process.
    Ok, to start with:
    The Fees:
    US$213.35 for 15 y.o. and older
    US$185.35 for 14 y.o. and below

    What to Bring:
    - If you don’t have your appointment letter yet, you may bring a photocopy of your NOA2 letter and NVC letter showing your MNL case no.
    - Valid Passport (have it photocopied as well)
    - Appointment letter – Bring original and have the first 2 pages photo copied.
    - 4 pcs. 2x2 photos – white background, with both ears uncovered and without earrings.
    - Black ballpen
    - jacket (it’s cold inside)
    Misc:
    - Bottled water. Foods are not allowed, but you can slip through hiding your crackers somewhere in your bag.
    - Play Station Portable, Nintendo DS, Ipod Touch, books/pocket books – well, I mean, something you can play/read while waiting in between check-ups and procedures.
    The 1st Day
:: Arriving at St. Lukes ::

    W/ appointment letter:
I handed over my appointment letter but then the security guard told me to have the 1st two pages photocopied, so I did (just right across the street) and then went back to hand him both the original and the duplicate, he stamped it both with “SLMCEC---something” .. and handed me a queue number. I arrived at 4:45am and got no. 32.
He gave me a form - the Patient Data Sheet (PDS) and the guard will check specific boxes you should fill in. Upon filling out your PDS, you’ll see an ‘Alien Case No.’ – that would be you MNL Case no.
He also handed me an Evaluation sheet to be returned upon release of your medical result – well, it’s just a Rate-Our-Clinic thing, with Excellent-Good-Poor check boxes
and questions on how to improve their service blah-blah.
Without appointment letter – well I guess, it’ll be the same as above as long as you have your NOA2 letter and NVC letter with MNL Case no.
    - After you completed filling out your PDS, there’s really nothing more to do but sit down and wait for your number to be called.
    - When the guard started to call in the numbers, he called batch by batch, 10 nos. in a batch.
    - He guided us to fall in line in front of ‘Digital Photo Room’ to have our --- well, digital photo taken
    - Have your PDS, Passport and photos ready. I handed those to the guy who takes the photos, everything was returned to me shortly after that.
    - I went straight ahead in front of the releasing counters and fell in line.
    - When it’s my turn, the screener asked me a few questions about my medical history … basically, you just have to answer everything he/she asks.. She stapled two(2) 2x2 photos on the PDS and inserted the other two(2) on a resealable plastic and stapled it once again on the lower part of the PDS.
    - After it, the screener told me to pay the medical fees at the cashier located at the 5th floor.
    - I then took the elevators to 5th floor and found the cashier at the corner, right beside the elevator. Paid the fees and told me to go to 4th floor.
    :: 4th Floor ::

    - I gave my PDS, Receipt, Passport and the photocopied appointment letter (keep the original, I believe that will be the one you’ll show at the interview) to the nurse at the reception. She gave me an “HIV Consent form” to fill out – I returned it to her afterwards and she then told me to sit down and wait for my name to be called.
    - When my name was called, the nurse asked me of the last day of my last period (always remember your 1st and last day of period, they will keep on asking it till you bleed again … kidding)
    - After she jotted down some notes on my papers, she gave it back to me and pointed me to go at the blood extraction room.
    - Before the nurse started to collect blood sample from my arm, she asked me my name, my age and again, my first and last day of period… This procedure is to assess you of any drug use and of course, HIV.
    - After the blood extraction, the nurse told me to go straight to the urine collection area, just right across the other side of the reception, a nurse is assigned there at the ladies C.R. – she’ll give you a plastic container to put your urine sample in. Hand it back to her when you’re done. This procedure is for pregnancy test and probably for other kidney-related illnesses. She told me to sit back down and wait for my name to be called.
    - My name was called and they gave me back my papers and passport and told me to proceed to 3rd floor for the X-Ray.
    :: 3rd Floor ::

    - I gave my set of papers to the nurse at the reception. If you have previous x-rays, be sure to bring the film (if it’s still available) so they can compare (and God knows if that would actually help alter their decision against their own x-ray results at any rate ~_~)
    - Anyhoo, since I don’t have an x-ray film with me, they simply gave me a paper to fill out, stating the reason why I don’t have one – I checked the box that reads “No X-ray has ever been taken”. Gave it back to them.
    - Somewhere on my PDS, they made me write my first day of my last menstrual period.
    - Told me to sit down and wait for my name to be called (well, isn’t it always?)
    - So my name is called and another nurse wrote down additional notes on my papers before he allowed me to enter the X-ray room. He returned to me my set of papers.
    - Inside the X-ray room (a little room before the actual X-ray room) is a little area with some chairs so we can sit as we wait for our turn. Another small area is a changing room with hospital gowns provided where we should disrobe our upper garments (bra and shirt) .. any necklace should be removed as well. I sat down and waited for my name to be called.
    - Upon calling my name, I then gave my set of papers to the nurse inside…. and it’s X-ray time! (I’ve been very anxious about this part ever since coz this is where they would find out if you have something strange in your lungs – hence, they’ll have you undergo the dreadful Sputum test) .. the nurse inside would assist you on how to properly execute the X-ray procedure.
    - After I finished the X-ray, the nurse gave me back my papers and told me to proceed to 5th floor.
    :: 5th Floor ::

    - I walked towards the U.S. counter and handed over my set of papers to the personnel assigned there .. he wrote something on my papers and then a different nurse picked up my papers, he assisted me to follow him to have my body weight and height measured.
    - Right after the nurse wrote down the weight record on my PDS, another nurse told me to proceed to the ‘Visual Exam Room’.
    - Inside the Visual Exam Room, the nurse conducted a visual activity test where you would have to read a Snellen Chart opposite a mirror. (more like a ‘give me a headache’ test) The nurse will ask if you're using contact lens or eye glasses prior to the exam.
    - After the eye test, he told me to go sit and wait for my name to be called. (I’m starting to have the feeling of omitting all these sit-and-wait-for-my-name-to-be-called in this entire entry)
    - The next thing done is they measured my Vital Signs - Blood Pressure and pulse rate.
    - I handed over to the U.S. Counter my set of PDS after completing the Vital Signs procedure.
    - Guess what happens here ………………… Correct!! Sit down and wait for my name to be called.
    - My name is called, went to the U.S. counter and they handed me a number. That would be my number for the physical exam.
    - It’s been the most agonizing 15 minutes of my whole medical process … waiting while thinking of getting all naked – NOT in front of your fiancé/husband … LOL!
    - My turn for the physical exam .. the doctor/physician will ask you all sorts of questions starting from your name to all your past operations/hospitalizations to inhaling mosquito coils to having contact with an alien from the outer space positive with HIV……
    - After all the seemingly non-stop questioning, the doctor ordered me to sign papers (kinda like a contract) attesting that I am telling nothing but the truth. She made me sign twice – one for saying that I gave birth 2 times, and the other one for stating that I’ve never had TB nor had contact with people who are infected of Tuberculosis.
    - Then she made me disrobe completely, but thank goodness, I still had to wear a hospital gown – at least. I laid down on the bed and she checks certain parts of my body. Doctors will specifically check slash marks for suicidal attempts, needle marks for drug use, tattoos for positive contamination from use of needles…
…. and then the private parts … She’ll make you spread your legs (or make you lie on your left side and bend your knees towards your chest). The physician checked the ####### and the ####### .. I believe they check it for possible signs of Sexually Transmitted Diseases or any abnormalities whatsoever. Don’t worry, if you’re a female, you’ll also have a female physician that will attend to you.
    - She told me to go straight to U.S. Counter. I handed my PDS and they attached a slip where it reads, “You must personally claim your results....dah dah dah” in 3 different languages .. what the! … The nurse handed back my papers shortly right after that and told me to go to 2nd floor for immunization interview.
    :: 2nd Floor ::

    - I gave my set of PDS to the guy on the reception right in front of the Immunization rooms.
    - loooooooong wait here ..
    - Called for Immunization interview (doctors area). The physician simply asked me a few questions like previous vaccines (don’t worry if you don’t have a record or can’t remember any, just tell the physician about it), sexual contact, pregnancies, if you’ve had chicken pox before, if it left any visible scars, etc … She told me of the available vaccines that I would take if all goes well with my medical results.
    - It’s a wrap! The day is done! … and the last thing to do is to check out on the 2nd floor check out counter. There they will tell you to return the next day for the results. They will tell you what time. The only things left in your hands now would be your passport, the receipt, the evaluation letter and your original appointment letter/NOA2/NVC letter.
    - Robinson’s place is not far from SLMCEC .. You’ll be as hungry as **** so I suggest you go there and treat yourself
    The 2nd Day
    - Upon arriving at SLMCEC, the guard pointed me to another guard inside, standing behind some kind of podium, I handed him my receipt and he entered the control no. on a computer database, so this guy sort of has the ‘master’s list’ for all results of med exams.
    --------------------------------
There are two things I know by far regarding the results:
If the guard stamped your receipt with “IMMUNIZATION” – then congratulations! You passed the medical exam and if you have anything scheduled after that, like for example - your visa interview in two days (like me), then there should be no worries.
If the guard stamped your receipt with “SPUTUM --- something” then unfortunately, you have to have a Sputum Collection and a 2-month long delay.
    --------------------------------
…….. Okay, so I have mine stamped with “Immunization” and this made me proceed to 2nd floor for my vaccines.
    - I gave my receipt to the guy at the reception (just the receipt, keep your passport) … and like always, I sat down and waited for my name to be called.
    - ZZZZzzzzzzZzZzzz
    - The intercom may sound vague most of the times, so you must listen attentively all the time.
    - My name was called and they made us fall in line in front of the check out counter on the same floor (2nd floor). The guy behind the counter collected our passports.
    - Go back to sleep. I mean, get back to your seat.
    - My name is called and it’s time for my immunization. The attending nurse first asked me some few questions about allergies I might have, date of first and last day of my last menstrual period, my name, age and birth. Vaccines may vary for every applicant, I had 4 shots, 2 on each arm (TDAP, MMR, Anti-Cervical and HPV).
    - *phew* .. thanks goodness, everything’s done … I was told to wait at the ground floor for the results.
    :: GROUND FLOOR ::
    - Zzz
    - Waited like 3 hours
    - My name is finally called but it’s not for the result yet … I went to window 1, the personnel made me sign my PDS and then I surrendered my passport .. told to me waaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiit until I die … kidding … waited for another 2 hours or so.
    - RESULTS!! Oh the Wonderful Result!! … I was called to window 6 with a female staff – she asked a lot of questions like a pre-screener at the interview, she seems to ask a lot about what you’ve written on your PDS and a few from the physician comments written on it .. she’s kind of like verifying.
    - She finally handed down a CD containing the X-ray details and a Vaccine sheet (these 2 are the only things they'll give you). She also told me that they would be the one to forward the results of my Medical Exam to the U.S. Embassy. They would keep everything including your passport.
    - I went out. Took a pedicab to Taft Avenue and bought myself a Baconator for all my day’s worth.
