  1. I mailed my application on April 11th and USCIS received it on the 16th.I decided to do this in two steps so I had sent the I130 back in January.I submitted a copy of the NOA with the AOS package and wrote a letter asking them to please make my case concurrent. So I see that my priority date is January 2012...So my case did become concurrent right ?? So its like I did the one step process in January ? What date are they working on now? Also the 17th was the last day to file taxes,so since they received it on the 16th,they wont need this year's tax? My joint sponsor makes more than enough so hopefully my husband's tax return wont be needed. We went to an accountant and he said it would be difficult for my husband to file since he gets paid off the book..long story.Anyhow,we sent his tax info for the 3 most recent tax yrs he did file for...We've been married for almost 5 yrs, been together since I was a teenager,we have a kid..Since I am temporarily legal and have a valid social,do I have a good chance of being granted Permanent Residency? Im excited but im still very nervous.I waited years for this moment. It feels surreal...so if all goes well, since my priority date is January 2011,when will my interview be? I was told my application was at the National Benefits Center. What goes on there and whats next ??

  2. Did he include a statement that he wasn't required to file taxes in 2010 because he didn't make enough money/was unemployed? If not, it's possible you might receive an RFE for that, but that would be easy to fix. Otherwise, it looks good!

Now that they have your I-485, expect about 4-6 months for the GC (assuming no RFEs), depending on where you live. :) Good luck!

Absolutely ! we wrote a letter stating he was unemployed. As a matter of fact,he was unemployed until the summer of last year, the same year he became a citizen. That is how we were able to get a fee waiver for his citizenship application.Omg ! i so cannot wait to have my greencard. After 20 years of living a very restricted life,I will finally be free to be the best that I can be.

  3. How long you have lived here has nothing to do with how much your spouse makes. You are still not eligible for means-tested benefits so it is up to your spouse to show you won't need them. It sounds like you have a joint sponsor so your spouse doesn't even need to meet the income guidelines.

I hope you're right about my husband not needing to meet the income guidelines.I feel a bit reassured.

    Thanks,guys,for your replies !

  4. Some of you know my situation but same may not.Let me recap ! I've lived in the US for almost 20 years. My US citizen husband lost his job in 2009 and has been doing freelance work since then.He was unemployed in 2010 .We went to an accountant to see how he could file taxes for last yr but the accountant said it would be difficult. He is self employed, and the night clubs he promotes for never issued him any form to file taxes nor did they ask for his social security number...Only one club has his social..He gets paid in checks...We sent the income tax returns for the last 3 yrs he did file taxes wich are the years 2009,2008,2007..Right now I have work authorization and temporary protected status,so I am legal...long story. We have a joint sponser who has a salary eay above the poverty line and worked for the same company for 20 yrs...so considering all of this,do I have a good chance of being granted a green card ? The Aos application was received my USCIS last friday. We sent the I 130 in january and submitted the Noa with the Aos so that it bcan become concurrent...When should I have my green card in hand if all goes well??
