  1. ok i am the beneficiary my husband is the petitioner, he is comin fro the US to accompany me, does it mean i have to put his name? or accompany here means something else?

I am the petitioner and i'm going to pick up my wife in her country. I will try to go inside with her during her Interview, if allowed, if not i will wait outside and give her my passport so she can mention that her US Citizen husband is outside waiting for her etc...etc.. during her interview and show my passport in casual manner.

In 31a and 31b, i put N/A because i'm not immigrating to US. I'm already US Citizen. The question is asking if anyone is immigrating with the beneficiary.

Hope this clears the confusion for you. I was confused also  but as always Saylin and others helped me out.

  2. Saylin,

    1) If the operator say that my AOS has been reviewed and accepted, then what do i tell the operator?

    thanks and hang up?

Have you called as yet? because I've been trying to speak with an operator about the same thing for the last 45 minutes......

    - No, not yet. I'll call during lunch break or tonight.

Yup, just tell them thank you and have a nice day, just like how you end any phone conversation.

Ok, i was just wondering if there is another "step" right after it. :innocent:

  3. 1. Yes, you should be calling every single day and asking for any updates on your case (has the review on the AOS started).

    2. No, if you don't call, NVC will not email you. So call to find out if the AOS package has been accepted.

    3. Definitely do NOT send the IV package until it shows up as PAID. It's not that it might take a few days, but it might be that the numbers were entered incorrectly and you'll have to repay. This has happened to a few members here this month.

    4. Again, give it a day after when the package has been received (find this out through your delivery confirmation), then start calling every single day asking for updates (has the review on the IV started).

    Saylin,

    1) If the operator say that my AOS has been reviewed and accepted, then what do i tell the operator?

    thanks and hang up?

  4. Can't wait for Monday to come so i can pay the IV bill and ship the package on Tuesday after it reflects PAID. :innocent:

    Exactly :D

    I LOVE the way you're thinking! good.gif

    Saylin,

So NVC received my AOS packet last Thursday 3/15/12.

    Q's

    1) Should i call NVC and ask the operator if my AOS packet has been reviewed and accepted? or just wait for checklist if any?

    2) if there is no checklist, how will i know if i don't call, will NVC email me?

    3) Should i mail my IV packet after being paying? even when it is not showing as PAID? since it usually reflects PAID the next day?

or i should just play it safe and wait for it to reflect PAID.

    4) Same as #1, how soon should i call NVC if IV has been reviewed and accepted etc...?

    Thank you!

  5. Hello Saylin,

Will we get Packet 4 in the email or mail?

hope we get it in email, so we can just print it.

    thanks !

Joint sponsors generally fill the I-864 (whether household members are not). Generally, the I-864A is for the spouses of joint sponsors. So, for example: the petitioner files an I-864, the petitioner's joint sponsor (who is his father) files an I-864, and the joint sponsor's wife (who is contributing income) files an I-864A.

In your case, I'd suggest your dad file the I-864, the same as you.

I'd definitely suggest you send a copy of your birth certificate. I've seen people get checklists for not proving their relationship to their joint sponsors when they're household members. I know you're not currently household members, but you used their address on some of the forms and NVC gets weird ideas sometimes. Wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry?

This is from the last page of the I-864 instructions (checklist page):

"If you are using the income of persons in your household or dependents to qualify,

-Proof of their residency in your household and relationship to you if they are not the intending immigrants or are not listed as dependents on your Federal income tax return for the most recent tax year."

  6. So today i got the DS-3032 acceptance email exactly after 1 week !

and the tax transcripts which i ordered online on IRS website on Monday or Tues? don't remember but i got in the same weekdays!

I hope my DS-3032 gets accepted soon. I'm finally growing impatient, and that too at this stage huh.gifhuh.gifhuh.gif

Like I told rujby, as long as everything is in order, then it's okay that you send 2011, but your joint sponsor doesn't. Try to have your joint sponsor file asap though so you can have their tax return transcript for the interview.

Yes. If it's nearby for you, this is the fastest way to get tax return transcripts.

OK she she is currently taking to them. Will she need to go to her tax preparer or she can go directly at the local Office? Is it free of charge?

  7. Another Question.what did you write on Q.#29. N/A or NONE?

I typed NONE under name, place of birth, and address.

and i wrote NONE under date.

Yup, more than likely you will get an acceptance on Monday. I think that they reply to such e-mails in the order received. So you're next. Enjoy your weekend

Yayyyyy !

We just got the DS-3032 Acceptance email. It was only sent to the Beneficiary's email address. I thought the petitioner would be cc'd in the email because the beneficiary cc'd petitioner in the initial email.

It doesn't have the wordings like "DS-3032 has been ACCEPTED" ! but it just a plain email letter (see below). Hope this is the "DS-3032 Acceptance email that everyone is talking about

    "Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-3032.

For more information regarding the immigrant visa application fee or for answers to frequently asked questions, please visit the following website: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3904.html

    IMPORTANT:

  8. Now here is the part I had not looked into in depth, once we have case complete what are we suppose to wait for, i know its a packet but what will beneficiery get? :bonk:

    Read post 1 & 2. B-)

After the case is completed, what happens?

In most cases: the case is put in a queue to get an interview date scheduled. Once an interview date is scheduled, the case is shipped out to the consulate/embassy.

Who should I be calling to find out my interview date?

You should be calling both NVC and DOS. Both have access to your case information. Their numbers are linked above.

How long does it take to get an interview date after a case complete?

This varies by country and consulate/embassy. Some people find out within a day or two, others a few weeks, then the few unfortunate that wait a few months (ex: Ghana). To get the best estimate for YOUR country is to search, using the timeline feature, when others got case completes and when they got their interview dates scheduled.

When do interview dates get scheduled?

If you talk to operators at NVC, they'll always tell you they ONLY schedule during the second week of each month. This is a LIE. They schedule interviews ALL month long. Many people (like myself) have gotten scheduled during the last week of the month. I repeat, they schedule ALL month long.

How long does it take for NVC to mail my case out after getting an interview date scheduled?

Usually it's the next day, but it can take up to a week or more in rare cases.

  9. i think you can, but it's super easy just to call them and ask them to fax it to you, they say it takes 48 hours but mine came within 10 minutes. saves you the trip. I wouldn't call the tax line that's automated, you want to speak with a real person, that will wait till the fax goes through. Be prepared to be on hold for at least 30 minutes though.

i DID order online, and the sent my the account transcripts not tax transcripts, so i would suggest taking the time to call and fax to make sure you get what you wanted and not wait a week for snail mail, just my opinion and what i did

I agree if they can fax you, thats even better if not then going to the local IRS office and picking up is much better than Snail mail also.

I ordered mine last year. I think it took 2 weeks or so.

Recently ordered a fresh copies from online, so i can take it during coming up beneficiary's interview.

  10. 1-People do you guys have a sample of Tax transcript? it seems that my wife have tax return instead of tax transcript.

2- my wife will subm,it 2009,2010,2011 and our joint sponsor will submit 2008,2009,2010 as she have not filed tax for 2011 yet, is that ok?

this is what mine looks like, it was faxed over, it says on top form 1040 or 1040A, both use total income. not sure if you should both file 2011 or 2010 for uniformity, i'm in the same dilemma. i filed 2011 but my joint sponsor has not yet done so

Can we get tax transcript at the local office?

I think you guys are making it way more complicated than it actually is.

    1) You need Tax return transcript

    2) You can order it by online here http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=232168,00.html

    3) or you can order by phone: Call 1-800-908-9946

    4) You want the "TAX RETURN TRANSCRIPTS". (NOT "Tax account transcript")

    5) Also it may come with copies of W2, so why not send those in also.

    6) You should be able to get these from Local IRS office but I have not tried it. Couldn't hurt for your petitioner to just drive their and find out.

I have now learned that lot of the time, posting q's on msg forum and waiting for answer is not going to solve it. You just gotta get up and get it done in-person.

  11. For my case, the IV bill email received at 2PM and email of Checklist for IV payment received at 5PM same day, just after 3 hours! I considered it as "False" RFE which is just to remind you for the payment. I got the impression from NVC operator that it is system auto-generated after IV invoiced.

good to know but i didn't get this issue with AOS invoice. maybe i will get it with IV invoice.

    good to know

  12. You have to keep in mind, you don't receive an email the instant it's generated. There's a few days lag. It's like this with all emails sent from NVC.

Are you saying that the email could have been sent few days ago but stays in their special "NVC-queue"? and gets sent some time later?

but in this case GoingCrazy2012 just got the invoice yesterday and paid yesterday and shows as Paid today.

also if IV bill was only invoiced yesterday and GoinCrazy2012 hasn't even mailed the IV package yet, so how can NVC system send checklist for IV payment?

In anycase.... now i've confused myself

Boooo...just called NVC to see about a case number. Saylin, looks like you were right - not today :P I got the "your case is here, but it's waiting to be processed, give us 10-20 days" lol. SIGH, all excited today for nothin! :)

Call back tonight and tomorrow, you'll get it.

  13. Just got the email mere seconds before I posted. Can't wait to tell Sue when she wakes up. :D

    :D

    Thanks

When she wakes up???!!! you better call her now dude...she'll kill you if you waited....

    Nah....let her sleep !

Just tell her in the morning (her time). otherwise she'll just be awake all night w/o any rest tomorrow when you guys talk more on this.
